  • I have not read your book, but one thing I do know is that diet, exercise and positivity can have an extreme impact on those who choose to embrace it. I have been studying health and nutrition for almost a year now and myself have experienced a lot of healing. I was diagnosed with mild AS, but can guarantee that it isn't worse because I radically changed my diet and lifestyle about 7 months ago. In every situation there will be naysayers and there is always gonna be someone who says you can't.

  • Save your money....he is talking about the no starch diet.....i have Ankylosing Spondylitis also, and i know what i am talking about.I am fused from top of neck to my pelvis,This diet works for some....but not many. Just google No Starch Diet

  • @realamongstfake -- If you requested your money back after purchasing my book, I definitely did not receive your email or message. I'm certainly not perfect, but I'm no scam artist. I'm sincerely sorry for any mixup and would like to make it right. If you're not happy with the book, DVD, etc. please do send me an email through the form on my site under "Contact" with your original order details (order number, full name) and I'll make sure you get your refund + 200%. Just need your info!

  • If your book doesnt help you will give all my money back + 200%, right?. If I was to buy your book, how do you determine that I have not sent my AS "into remission in as little as 6 weeks or less"? Thus, qualifying for the full refund of $237.

  • @MrPowerskitchen I have no way of determining that -- I have to simply trust that you will be honest. So far, it seems everyone has been honest thus far because if they weren't, I wouldn't be around for long!

  • im 17 and i have AS in the joints where the leg and hips are connected. Lookin at all the comments i not sure wether to buy this book anot. So i did some research i saw that diet helps. So i think i would buy the book. If it doesnt help thats too bad for me. I rather try then sitting down doing nothing.

  • @Magician556 I would encourage you to purchase it -- if it doesn't help, I'll give you all your money back + 200%. Good luck on your journey!

  • You are a bad man!

  • Remember that it's not just a diet book -- it's right at 100 pages and it covers a huge variety of topics related to the book including supplementation, medications, exercises, etc. It also includes an audiobook version of the book and a 45 minute video series of exercises made with a Doctor of Physical Therapy specifically for A.S. You would pay $80 for a single PT session in most cases. I understand how you feel, but it's a lot more than just a book.

  • I'm not sure how I feel about you charging so much for a diet book. I totally understand wanting to make a profit on your work but there is so much free info out there already. I've tinkered with the low starch diet before and I think it helps reduce some symptoms but is Absolutely not a cure worth trying 2 sell.

  • I have AS, i just found out ressently and, im really scared

i stress out all the time and im just really unhappy right now ,

im scared im going to go parralized :'(

  • @12tipy12 AS is very treatable, both naturally through diet and exercise, and with drugs. If you've caught it early and there isn't permanent damage yet, you are probably going to be just fine. Hang in there, keep trying things until you find something that works for you, and don't give up.

  • @12tipy12

    check out kickas.org

its for free and noone is trying to make money on our problems. It has helped me a lot. No Starch Diet.

  • @olofpersson2 hey thanks for the info on kickas i really apreciate it

im only 20 years old , can you tell me how your AS is treating you , im scared im going to be paralized , the doctor said im going to live a normal life b/c it's not a bad case of AS but I have a hard time believing him , my whole body hurts , im an extremly independent acting person and being disable or paralized will just not work for me .

  • With my AS in remission, employment isn't an issue at all. But yes, I spent 8 months putting the book together. Believe me, I'm not getting rich from it, either. I'm paying for the advertising, web server, editing, and a few personal bills, and not much more.

Frankly, I don't see how this is any different than a book on a particular topic found in a bookstore. It's just being sold online. Period.

  • How does it feel to be a blood sucking wretch bleeding money from the scared and suffering ?

  • That's not really fair to ask of this guy when there are myriad actual physicians who do not have a clue and continue to maim and kill their patients--but they can bury their mistakes.

I have not read this book, but I believe that it would be worth a thousand doctor visits.

Yes, You can pay some charlatan to lie to You about the role of diet in AS, but better to hear TRVTH from a patient!

I have been giving this advice away for free for many years; maybe I'm missing something...

  • i somewhat agree with you. Anyway. There is no magic diet that will work for everyone. But training and healthy food will help you.

But what you dont need is to pay money to people just to do this.. just start to eat healthy and do some training.

thats it.. there is no magic in this world. :)

  • You're right that a diet can't help EVERYONE, but a specialized diet based on the biological processes underlying AS helps the vast majority of sufferers, and that's what I've outlined in my book.

It is far more complex than just "eating healthy" because a "normal" healthy diet doesn't address the underlying causes of AS like a specialized diet does.

But that's why I offer a 100% guarantee -- for those rare cases when the diet doesn't work, I don't think you should have to pay.

  • You haven't the faintest idea what the hell you're talking about.

Please, do tell me -- how am I bleeding money from people when the book I sell is backed by clinical research and a 100% guarantee? If it doesn't work, you get your money back.

I'm not here to screw people out of their money. In fact, quite the opposite, I'm helping people to find information they otherwise may not, and I've had numerous people achieve remission because of my book. But I have bills to pay, so it's not free.

  • if it were that easy we would all be doing this under doctors orders, yes some relief, until the pain knocks your lie apart. remission gone and never stays gone with anyone, prove it.

  • Keep in mind doctors are virtually forced to stick with FDA approved treatments to avoid the risk of lawsuits, and to get approval requires rigorous, multi-million dollar, double-blind studies, none of which is possible given that treatment is diet based and no one stands to make any money from funding the studies.

Just like anything in life, just because everyone is doing something doesn't mean it's "right."

Regarding remission, it's personal, like all of AS. For many, changing diet works.

  • if it was that easy WE would have a cure!

  • There's no cure, but there are a lot of people who have experienced incredible remissions by changing their diet and using some innovative medications that affect endorphin production. I'm one of them.

  • Where can i find this diet???

  • my dad has AS he has had it for over 25 years, i hate seeing him in pain he has to take lots of medications, but the diet it true, it helps the pain, but he often wakes up at night to have his medications .he eats lots of fish but their are a few kinds of fish that he can not eat, but avoide the red meat... my dad is 45, he remains active, he does his daily exersises everymorning before work, we as a family walk every evening after dinner and on weekends he plays volleyball but not as much.

  • You are correct, but once your spine is fused it is fused forever. I've gotten part of my life back but I'll never turn my head again or be able to see the sky from a standing position.

  • George, you're absolutely right. I was fortunate to get an early diagnosis and find something that worked for me, and it's allowed me to maintain complete flexibility, etc.

Best we can hope for is new medical technology that might allow for the repair of your spine. Maybe nanobots in 10 years? Who knows. You might want to check out Ray Kurzweil & Terry Grossman's "Fantastic Voyage: How to Live Long Enough to Live Forever" -- they talk about some really incredible upcoming medical tech.

  • I agree and disagree to some extent. As you noted, not everyone with AS has the HLA-B27 gene. It is my view that there is another gene, as yet identified, that interacts in much the same way as the HLA-B27 gene.

  • I think that diet and exercise is important. I think that it can relieve the symptoms. However if you have the HBLA gene this may not be the hope that people are looking for.

  • Julie, I am HLA-B27 positive and the diet has helped me tremendously.
