  • I forgott how Awesome this album was....

  • This song was made about the 1980 Santa Fe NM Prison Riot

  • They played this at the Roxy on saturday the 12th, FUCKING BRUTAL!

  • SLAYER & EXODUS <3

  • I play lead guitar in the band Hatriot, featuring former Exodus vocalist Steve 'Zetro' Souza on lead vocals. Check us out! I've got a song on my profile. :)

  • like the coming of a tide....

  • Thrash fucking Geniuses

  • Great band!

  • Why the fuck are people arguing about that shitty ass band(lamb of god) on this awesome oldshool thrash song?

  • I remember getting this album when it came out first and being totally blown away by this opener. A thing of beauty.

  • no better song to fit my stupid day dealing with the man!!!!!

  • Some of the most awesome thrash we had back in the day . I can remember bringing in the cassette and playing it in class back in high school and having a teacher and student tell me this is not music but noise because they were fans of pussy power-pop like Bon Jovi and fuck that shit , this was thrash . I remember their lead guitarist state in a magazine interview , we started as a thrash band , we are a thrash band , and will always be a thrash band .

  • the lyrics are based on an actual prison riot. here's an idea: have prison guards not treat people inside like they are animals or worse and maybe they won't get their bitch asses smashed. as far as the snitches go? you know what rob sez "...you made your choice so hold your voice and don't point your finger."

  • @evilmotherfucker666 based on the Santa Fe NM prison riot. i remember this as a kid, i lived in the next town north, i still remember seeing the news. i know cops that were there and told me what they saw and heard, holy shit man fucking crazy shit.

  • the intro to this song just builds up to pure epicness

  • I've always thought this album had the best thrash drumming ever...fuck, just counting the first 2 tracks alone.

  • i remember watching a documentaty about this riot. the inmates got blowtorches and went to were the snitches were being held and began to tell them what they were going to do to them as they blowtorched their way through the cell bars. at one point they got one of the snitches, held him up to the window so the police could see, and blowtorched his head causing his eyes to pop. fucking sick.

  • @slantyrock that's true shit. they cut another guys head off w/ a shovel and rolled it outside to the cops that were hanging out on the other side of the fence. the snitches were lined up at their windows screaming for the cops to come in and help them but they couldn't. the cops heard all the carnage and screaming when the prisoners finally torched thru.

  • @slantyrock Which doc was that?

  • @mns000001 I forget the name of it, it was an English documentary from about 10 years ago.

  • Exodus had the best thrash metal guitar tone at the time...

  • figa gli exodus!!!!!...un gruppo che mi esalta più di loro non esiste!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • no mames

    ke rola tan de webos

hey eso es verdadero fucking thrash metal hell!!

  • The intro is creepy as fuck.

  • FUN FACT: Sid Vicious died on the 2nd of febuary 1979!!

  • I always just assumed the intro was written by exodus, but, they have had a few stinkers..not this album, this was gold.

  • oh yeah metal at its finest......a sea of agony rolls in like the coming of the tides!!!!!Nobody can make music like this these days !!!!!true METAL EH!!

  • exodus is so awesome... this album kicks ass and still it's like the fifth best album they've put out

  • OH YEAAAAAAAA BUENAS EPOCAS

  • what crap!

  • @spoilermdc your a fucking idiot.

  • At everyone arguing below, it's a matter of personal opinion whether or not Lamb of God is true metal. They classify themselves as part of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Sure, some people don't like them, some do. Personally, I don't like them, but I'm not trollin' around calling other people posers because of the fact they don't like the same bands that I do.

  • while kids in my school got into lamb of god i got into bands like exodus, its awesome knowing that i was the one true metalhead in my school

  • @6disco6stu6

    You're not unique.

  • explain

  • explain

  • wow full of your self much?

  • id say lamb of god are a fairly true metal band. and no, you arent special for liking metal. in fact id kick your puny ass for thinking you are.

  • fuck that they're just as much as a poser band as slipknot so how bout you blow me douchebag

  • @driffter1976 Yes, Lamb of God is the kind of music 300 pound teenagers who shop at Hot Topic listen to, and the music people who make themselves feel tough by threatening people on youtube listen to.

  • @AltarsOvMadness

Wait, im about 260-280 pounds but I listen to old thrash metal, death metal, and black metal. Bands like slayer, pantera, suffocation, mayhem, and malevolent creation, etc. I dont listen to any metalcore AT ALL. I dont think the "300 lb" part should have been added to your argument.

  • @driffter1976 lamb of god is not metal. Why? because not everything fast with distorsion and harsh voices is metal. It's a matter of the ideology and the message of metal music, wich lamb of god completely lacks.

  • @Trasheador Yeah.... Lamb of God is much closer to Punk than Metal.

  • @Alex11710 nothing wrong with punk though...

  • @blacksabbath0909 - Yeah, but it shouldn't be confused with Metal.

  • @6disco6stu6 - Really? I hated it.

  • This album makes me forget 'bout Slayer, yeah,

but this was so long time ago...

  • why cant you buy this on itunes??

  • @metalrocks6606 Because iTunes gets all their money off stupid popular bullshit.

  • Why do you need it when its here? Buy the CD failing that!!

  • I think this is their best album. Every single song was just so fucking brutal and mean, not to mention Steve's rough voice spewing verbal razors the whole time over those kickass riffs.

  • this is a fuckin kickass song man! FUCK!!!

  • whoa never heard this holy shiznit

  • I'll never fucking forget the time when I first found this album at a thrift store...That was back in 04' and man did I fucking love this...

    EXODUS RULES!!!

  • One of my fave albums as a kid.

  • listen up kids.

the thrash riffin' from 3:33 to 3:51is fucking brutal!!! ...galloping right-hand muting with an onslaught of double-kick flutter beats. it seriously doesn't get any better than that.

    cheers to all exodus fans!!!

  • @jonasbjarki 3:33 to 3:51? try the whole fucking song! \m/

  • @jonasbjarki: it may be long time ago that you threw this post up but I just have to say....what you said was GENIUS!!!! WHY DO WE NOT HAVE ANY NEW BANDS BRINGING THE SAME MAGIC ANYMORE?

  • @jonasbjarki Flutter beats? Is that where you hear the bass in between snare hits?

  • @jonasbjarki ROFL! WTF is a "flutter beat?"

  • Great intro!

  • The Same goes for Feeding Time At the Zoo!

  • i wanna make a monkey soup..... a WHAT?!

  • This song doesn't exist without the intro. Thrash is angry hard fast party political music.

  • I know what Thrash is man believe me i do but i just what to hear hunting bang on the fuckin drums, holt shred on the guitar. and souza sing violently!

  • the beginning is the shit it gets you ready for the thrashing that is about to come

  • Fuckin awesome song!

  • This is based of a real prison riot in New Mexico. If you didn't know you'd think they just came up with the most intensely violent imagery they could imagine.

    "Acetylene torches dealt the punishment

    Melted from skin to bone

The fire silenced their screams to moans

Smoke filled the air from bodies set aflame

Begging for mercy, but their words were spoken in vain."

  • what prison? i live in mexico and i dont remember, THRASH TILL DEATH EXODUS!

  • @GrimHellscream Yes your right. I get chills every time I read about that shit! I'm from New Mexico and know my states history. Oliver Stone did something similar in that scene in Natural Born Killers.

  • @GrimHellscream:

it is just google [feb 2nd 1980 santa fe riot]

  • Killer solo!!

  • best album for EXODUS!

  • R.I.P. William Anthony Clarke, exodus fan.

  • saw them yesterday and the opened the show with this...

  • thats awsome, i hope they play this on the american leg of the kreator tour

  • where

  • athens greece

  • hey i just watched a video which taught how to get that strange reverse effect on the talking. you basically reverse an audio recording. then apply a reverb/echo effect. then.... reverse the recording. therefore the talking is back in the right order but that echo that was added gives it the unusual echo buildup

  • badass song

  • Tom Hunting= one underated drummer.

  • He is insane

  • Yep, I fucking love him in this song..

  • Everybody went bonkers over Toxic Waltz on this album, but this one was my favorite. So much fast energetic stuff going on. I liked Verbal Razors a lot too. The pits on this song must have been a bloodbath.

  • i agree with ozzy4eve

    oldschool metallica was great!

  • Metallica sucks.

    I like Old metallica.

    They,re bad ass!

  • i agree with amebixfan these guys have stayed truer to their original sound than testament as testament went very groove based when that style was popular

  • If ever there was a dictionary definition of thrash metal, this song should be it. Sheer thrash perfection from the masters of intensity...

Fucking relentless party music from the good old days...

    WALTZ IT UP MUTHAFUCKERS!!!!

  • cheers to that my friend

  • i've only heard this song and "war is my shepard" but this band kicks ass!

  • Fuck yeah...I gotta get me some Exodus.

  • I saw them with Helloween and Anthrax in '89. They kicked some serious ass live!

  • where?? I saw the same tour in portland oregon - headbangers ball tour!!! hell yeah!!

  • It was in New York City.... Awesome concert; terrible security. Dan Spitz got into it with one of the security guards on stage. It was interesting.

  • right on - the security in portland would'nt let us mosh, so we tore the seat cushions off the seats, and used them as frisbees.....lol ;-)

  • Great song, great album, great great band. Thank you for the memories!

  • It sounds like Testament of "The Legacy" era. Excellent song!

  • Better than any Testament song

  • I don't agree, dude!

  • exodus is way better than testament!

  • I think Exodus is better thrash. I prefer Testament myself.

  • They're both amazing.
