  • wow!

  • this robot stinks, give him wheels for god sakes

  • This research is very good.keep working and discovering

  • imagine Osama bin Laden controlling an army of T-1000s with his brain

  • Smoke and Mirrors.

  • SURROGATES!!!!!!

  • now just hook an Ethiopian up to the robot and we can start to worry.

  • Why don't they give him wheels instead of those lazy legs. If I could trade my legs for wheels...man I'd be like a half man half bull from greek mythology...except with a segway.

  • intelligent but slowly lal

  • now let's do it vise versa muhahaha robots control human movements, oh im so deliciously evil >:3

  • @Commandos12 except for the fact that robots can't control themselves and have to be controlled by humans. So it would be like super inception lol

  • @Joshchamp67 dont spoil fun :O, let people fantasize ;D

  • kinda slow... and kinda clumsy... but still, it's a huge advancement in technology... eargerly waiting to see what this could develop into!

  • not the fastest robot...

  • @Orangman32 do you realise how hard it is just to keep the stupid thing from falling down they probably spent more time designing the robot itself than they did the brain to interface module

  • easy there man, i was just pointing that out.

  • looks like he is dancing . lol

  • The first steps to making a command interface that links to your brain waves... man, thats awesome.

  • It's quite incredible what we'll be able to do with this technology!

  • Run for your lifes, he's coming after us !!! He's coming, he's coming, he's coming,he's coming....

Neahh...WTF..let's stop and drink a coke....

  • I think the ultimate objective is to place a human brain inside a robot for life extension purposes. Imagine being a cyborg!

  • Jesus that robot walks like a three-legged mule.

But he grabbed the block like a champ. =3

  • Slow , how slow he moves forward . lots of walking and very little forward motion.

  • the brain hat isn't that great, the guy is just yelling GREEN BLOCK in his head and the ai performs the action

  • its called EEG... (electroencephalograph)

  • how much longer till we can construct a device so our brain can live in a vat?

  • Explain.

    Retard.

  • OMG!! but this robot dances? :'D ahhahah

  • the intelligent scientis put a electrical-stimulus sensitive facility like this OVER the head of some volounteer, the BASTARD sticks shit in the monkey's brain to probe something that could be proved also with this facility.

  • obviously those scientists are not intelligent enough, because it's way cheaper to cut a monkey apart rather than use this expensive equipment.

  • I've not understood.

    Explicate better

  • I agree with PLATOON72.

What the hell are you talking about?

  • Ok just so everyone knows what's happening here: The robot is not being controlled by the guy. It's being controlled by an AI. All the guy is doing is trying to influence which block the AI choses to go for. The technology is not advanced enough for the guy to actually be controlling the robot. First they hook him up and have the computer recognize when his brain sees something he's looking for.. then they have him focus on a block and the robot picks whatever color block he's focusing on..

  • that's certainly one way of looking at it, but in the same way, "you" aren't controlling every aspect of what you are doing consciously.

  • you could also look at it in the sense of you dont want to have to control trivial movements such as walking etc, you want the robot to take care of that itself. you just want it to do as you ask.

  • what immobile is saying is true. I just did a research paper on this stuff. If you notice, the Red and green blocks on the user's scree are flashing at different intervals. By focusing on a block, the computer can see your brains response to the flashes. It can the calculate when your brain responded vs when a particular block was flashing to determine which block you are looking at.

  • Oh wow ! that would be an awesome Video Game controller!

could you imagine playing a game with that thing? no more sore thumbs and aching arms and the precision would be astonishing.

  • ok um.... this video is awesome but where can you get one of these helmets, and how much are they?

  • How come there aren't any robots being controlled by men's penises?? I mean, that is the most developed organ most men practice day in and day out with?? The brain??... oh yeah, the thing that says, "Penis, do not stare at that girl, she'll think less of me!"... lol Brain... who needs it??!

  • Oh yea and there is a headset called the Emotiv that is going to be released this year that is basicly a universal controller the training for it is a video game but after that u can do alot more!

  • No it's not.

  • yeh it is, i dont know about it being released yet but it senses your facial and electrical shit in your brain and you can do stuff, search it.

  • Dude guys I work with Emotiv as a beta tester. The emotiv is going to be released in December of this year. And inferiuz it actualy runs just off of thought patterns in you're brain.

  • can u make him look like a legoman? and so eh moves kind of like a halo spartan? (cuzz they think of their movement to do it, they dont actually just do it)

  • Yeah it's not being released for consumer use, and if it was, it'd cost quite a bit.

  • not sure if its £ or $ but its 299

  • OCZ's NIA is better and only costs £99.

  • from what i understand they do have a wireless model and its human size!

  • think about it, once this technology goes wireless, man will have "invented" telekenesis.

  • lol ur right in like 2040 we will probably have it

  • just think if they came out with some super suit that could be controlled with your mind. All you'd have to do is sit inside and think, then the robot gose on a rampage. LOL! that'd be awsome!

  • Kind of like Krain on teenage mutant ninja turtles?

  • It looks like sony's dance bots just with alot of the stuff stripped away.

  • but, all you would have to do in the end is attack the nerve center.

i.e where all the defenceless beings controlling these things are sitting around.

This would be more useful play Virtual Reality Tankwars. :D

  • well thats not very nice.

  • This is how the u.S. will fight it's wars in the future....

  • Yep. Keep playin computer games kids. You are %100 right. I might do some research on this, they must already be testing military applications of similar technology for Spec Ops at least.

No audio here, but I bet they could come in real handy size-wise, especially if they run almost silently.

  • he is like moondancing

  • pamer why would you say something that stupid? You make the rest of us look bad when you say **** like that. You reinforce the steryeotype that all jingoists are violent sociopaths and give people who wanted to let sadam butcher the iraqi people ammo.

  • dayumm u use big words, lol (:

  • its like a penguin :)

  • lol!

  • you're a real credit to the force

  • Im confused... is that man controlling the robot with his mind???

  • XD!!!! i love his walk. he's got a little dance to his step. he must be a happy robot! XD!!

  • intresting... but bored

  • need to work on the motor functions of tha robot

  • lol yea I thought it was going to start dancing but man that things cute!

  • is it dancing or whatxD

  • impressive..

  • If walks like a pansy all the other robots will make fun of him. Give him some wheels!

  • LMAO, sorry but that is too funny, I love it.

    -Cheri

  • Goddamn, that thing is slow!

  • nice ,, i want one

  • amazing!

  • nice! very nice!
