He thought of it, and he did it. Full bore. Look at all these people working their lives away towards HIS idea. Amazing, really. And he's not just a suit in an office, he knows every part on the floor. This guy is what we should all aspire to.
Interviewed there not too long ago. Very "hippie", silicone Valley-ish type work atmosphere (unless you are slaving it in the machine shop or any other department were the real work is done). No shortage of young good looking women running around in tight jeans (or young horndogs gawking at them). Many employee perks. Not sure this place can keep this business model viable for long once the first round of contract money runs out. Seems like this is the party and the hangover will be very bad.
@smithraymond09029 Big thing is that once th NASA contract runs out, if the job is done well and cheaply like they say, it will be renewed. Why pay the extraordinary amounts to the Russians for cargo lifting, when you can pay an American company so much less? Theyll do just fine, especially when other companies start paying them for their investments in space.
@kyledaoust221 They seem to have just contracted to launch two satelites for AsiaSat in 2014. So it seems like they're getting some recognition on the global market. AsiaSat had used the Russians and a Lockheed Atlas rocket for previous launches.
This is just the 4 videos on SpaceX concatted together, right? They are still talking about Falcon 1 sales, which have been delayed now with F9 and FH taking front stage instead.
