I say Valmanway is the fastest and durable weapon, cause you can walk or dash with Black Panther while attacking at the same time. Kaiser Knuckles can only "stand your ground" attacks and you can't move that much while attacking.
Death's sickle (or is it the Excalibur) has the most raw power, but is quite slow. Kaiser Knuckles are strongest due to a very rapid attack, im sure it has higher power than the valmmanway (correct me if im wrong).
@Eggmaster2029 Death's Sickle is awesome... Easily one of the coolest weapons. The only thing keeping it from being more useful is the fact that it's dark-elemental, and half the monsters resist dark. I'm going to try using this against Julius Belmont later on. Depending on how well I do, I may give Death's Sickle a little more love. Until then, Claimh Solais and Valmanway (especially at higher levels) are the best weapons by far.

@tommihahmo you have to make sure you're the futhest possible length away from the waterfall when you use the soul, that way you can build up more speed to go through it.

@Machdude Sure. In that sense it makes sense. But as a most "strongest" (first what comes to mind is how many hit points this weapon deals) weapon is not the strongest. I explain: weapon that deals 1000 points per minute and weapon that deals 500 per 25 seconds. Which one is stronger? First one. Because drains 1000 points per hit. Which weapon will kill faster (If enemy got more than 1000 points of health)? Second one. Because in one minute it will drain 2000 points.
Taking that into account though, you have to actually understand how slow those fuckers are. (Not slow, I mean REAL SLOW.) The Claimh here can strike twice to three times in the same time it takes for the Death Scythe to retract. But the second is the problem that the Claimh gets a damage bonus on like 70% of the enemies that it faces. Death Scythe which is the strongest weapon in numbers, is far weaker because everything (but 3-4 enemies) resists it and it swings once every quarter moon.
@lord600001002 Yeah, I usually use the Claimh Solais for boss fights or to get through hard enemies. I use the Valmanway for speedrun games and easy enemies. I'd say they're both best.
imho, if u combine that unlimited mana item with that spell that screams and damages everyone on screen - by total damage it's by far the most powerful "weapon".. this is only possible if u enter chaos at least once i think...

Go try out kaiser knuckle's dps on a slower enemy like final guard or w/e and be amazed at how much dps that comes from a weapon you are able to get so early in the game.

for me the best items are: Claimh Solais: Found in Forbidden Area. ATT + 99 STR +7 CON +7 INT +7 Demon´s Mail: Dropped by Demon Lord. DEF +49 STR +9 Chaos Ring: Found in Chaotic Realm (Only if you have all Souls). DEF, STR, CON, INT and LCK +1 MP is not Consumed when Using Souls.

Demon's mail, which you can get from an arc demon, is just about as good if not better than Dracula's Tunic. I'd also prefer the chaos ring over satan's ring because its unlimited mana at the cost of slightly lower stats from satan's ring.

I know, but that doesn't change the fact that the claimh solais does not have the best Attack stat. I'm not saying that the Death's Sickle is the best weapon, just that it has the most attack.
There are three other weapons stronger than the Claimh Solais: Final Sword (from Final Guard) Excalibur (boss rush) and Death's Sickle (????).
The problem is that all three are as slow as hell. The Claimh Solais, however, is not slow. Being faster than the other three while being almost as strong makes it the best weapon in the game.
The death sickle can be found in a small area just before you enter the boss room in clock tower. this however requires that you have the Giant bat soul. However the Death Sickle has amazing range. But because many monsters are resistant to darkness and almost none are resistant to light. That puts the Claimh Solais ahead. However... The valenway rewarded for completing the boss rush in under 4:00 is extremely powerful when combined with the succubus soul. Try that combination.

Death Scythe is stronger, and Kaiser Knuckle can kill faster sometimes. But Claimh is holy elemental (Which A LOT of monsters, like 3/4, are weak to and none immune), has a faster swing then Scythe, and raises all your other stats by 3.

laser cannon has high range with a straight (no arc) attack
it at first seems to have lower damage than other weapons, but the trick is the closer you are to the target, the more hits it gets (max range=1 hit, medium range= 2 hits, melee range=3 hits)
Can wreck anything as long as you know when to get close and when to stay at range
I personally like the giant worm soul better, stand still and gain health. Also to get the good ending when you fight graham make sure you equip the flame demon soul, the succubus soul and I think the giant bat soul.
The Claimh Solias is indeed the strongest weapon in the game. With wide range attack and decent swinging speed as well. As for the astest, it's Angry God's Fist or whatever it was.
Pay no heed to Izzi. Technically, the Death Scythe is the biggest and most powerful weapon in the game; however, most people tend to prefer the Claimh Solais because it is faster and does comparably decent damage. I personally prefer the scythe because it is badass.
that WILL sound weird, but i LOVED the gun, and for me its quickness, allied with succubus soul, more than makes up its weakness. since i got it i stickied out with it the whole game, unless when i was testing new weapons
Claimh Solais is the greatest sword because originality and design but there is one that has more ATK points and is the Excalibur(get it at the boss rush).

I got the Claimh Solais my very first time in the Reservoir. I was around level 40 or 50 at the time and took a liking to it quick. But I don't know if I'd say it's the best weapon. It covers a lot of area and has good reach, but the damage is easy to outclass with Death Sickle and Final Sword. Final Sword reaches further, too. I'd say for normal, it's tied as best with Final Sword, but I'd put Death Sickle above both.
The rifle is great, too, but it's definitely not the best.

I didn't say it was the weapon with the best range. I said it was the strongest. The Sickle or Solais may have the best range, but they are slower and require more successful hits to do damage. With the Knuckle, all you have to do is press the button once to destroy the target. With bosses this is even more useful. Bosses like Balore or Chaos.
Solais has pretty decent speed, and I tend to jump attack with it too so it doesn't end up too mad.
Balore and chaos would be terrible for the kaiser knuckles, because you have to jump high constantly for balore and same with chaos. In fact, Solais with Chaos = you kill two of the eyes or attack two soul things rather than one at a time
Yeah Solaris for the eyes on the walls, but KK for the Chaos core. Same for Balore. You only have to jump once, just as long as you have the Medusa Head as your blue soul set. Then you can just hang in the air and pound away while Balore hits the floor with his eye beam. With Chaos, you will destory it before the snake can get in a position to attack you.
personally, I think the great sword is the best, might be the "final sword", not sure really, been awhile. whichever sword is dropped by the final guard is the best in my opinion

theres a remake of this game for the ds just use a ds emu its called dawn of sorrow. its very good to better grafix and stuff. (cant go wrong with a remake!)

People say Claimh Solais is the strongest since it boosts more than just ATK and it's faster than Final Sword, Excalibur and Death Scythe along with it's holy element. Most monsters here are weak to light.

In the chaos areal you can find a demon, beat him to get the Demon Armor, its ways stronger than Eversing.

There are three other weapons stronger than the Claimh Solais: Final Sword (from Final Guard) Excalibur (boss rush) and Death's Sickle (????).
The problem is that all three are as slow as hell. The Claimh Solais, however, is not slow. Being faster than the other three while being almost as strong makes it the best weapon in the game.

The death sickle can be found in a small area just before you enter the boss room in clock tower. this however requires that you have the Giant bat soul. However the Death Sickle has amazing range. But because many monsters are resistant to darkness and almost none are resistant to light. That puts the Claimh Solais ahead. However... The valenway rewarded for completing the boss rush in under 4:00 is extremely powerful when combined with the succubus soul. Try that combination.

Death Scythe is stronger, and Kaiser Knuckle can kill faster sometimes. But Claimh is holy elemental (Which A LOT of monsters, like 3/4, are weak to and none immune), has a faster swing then Scythe, and raises all your other stats by 3.

You gotta clear boss rush extremely fast
laser cannon has high range with a straight (no arc) attack
it at first seems to have lower damage than other weapons, but the trick is the closer you are to the target, the more hits it gets (max range=1 hit, medium range= 2 hits, melee range=3 hits)
Can wreck anything as long as you know when to get close and when to stay at range

I personally like the giant worm soul better, stand still and gain health. Also to get the good ending when you fight graham make sure you equip the flame demon soul, the succubus soul and I think the giant bat soul.

The Claimh Solias is indeed the strongest weapon in the game. With wide range attack and decent swinging speed as well. As for the astest, it's Angry God's Fist or whatever it was.

Pay no heed to Izzi. Technically, the Death Scythe is the biggest and most powerful weapon in the game; however, most people tend to prefer the Claimh Solais because it is faster and does comparably decent damage. I personally prefer the scythe because it is badass.

Hmm for me its definitely Valmanway ! A top balance between a range of a one-handed sword and speed within kaiser knuckles league.
Same as for me in the sequel Dawn of Sorrow =)
( p.s. DoS' Alucard really kinda stinks =( wish they should have at least restore half of entire Alucard's skill and familiar sets)

Claimh Solais is the greatest sword because originality and design but there is one that has more ATK points and is the Excalibur(get it at the boss rush).

I got the Claimh Solais my very first time in the Reservoir. I was around level 40 or 50 at the time and took a liking to it quick. But I don't know if I'd say it's the best weapon. It covers a lot of area and has good reach, but the damage is easy to outclass with Death Sickle and Final Sword. Final Sword reaches further, too. I'd say for normal, it's tied as best with Final Sword, but I'd put Death Sickle above both.
The rifle is great, too, but it's definitely not the best.

I didn't say it was the weapon with the best range. I said it was the strongest. The Sickle or Solais may have the best range, but they are slower and require more successful hits to do damage. With the Knuckle, all you have to do is press the button once to destroy the target. With bosses this is even more useful. Bosses like Balore or Chaos.

Solais has pretty decent speed, and I tend to jump attack with it too so it doesn't end up too mad.
Balore and chaos would be terrible for the kaiser knuckles, because you have to jump high constantly for balore and same with chaos. In fact, Solais with Chaos = you kill two of the eyes or attack two soul things rather than one at a time

Yeah Solaris for the eyes on the walls, but KK for the Chaos core. Same for Balore. You only have to jump once, just as long as you have the Medusa Head as your blue soul set. Then you can just hang in the air and pound away while Balore hits the floor with his eye beam. With Chaos, you will destory it before the snake can get in a position to attack you.
