  • This is IMHO the the finest recording of any Korngold song. But where to buy it ?? Can anyone help??

  • When the Wienerstaatsoper visited Covent Garden in September 1947, Dermota was their Don Ottavio: but he graciously stood down on the last night - 27th - so that Richard Tauber could make what proved to be his last performance on any stage.

  • Beautyful! I will get this song and sing it!!

  • I swear, Korngold writes the most hauntingly and mysterious music. On top of this, there's "Ich soll ihn niemals" (The Letter Song) from Die Kathrin, "Ich ging zu ihm" from Das Wunder der Heliane, Marietta's Lied and "Mein Sehnen mein wähnen" from Die Tote Stadt, and more. Anton Dermota's voice is just perfect for Korngold. With such a heavy voice, he uses it so lightly and lyric-like. It's a surprisingly unique and interesting voice for a surprisingly unique and interesting piece of music.

  • Wonderful both music and this voice.

  • This is realy an astonishing record of Anton Dermota. Unfortunatelly, today we can't find such universal but fine singers.

By far the best singer of Slovenian origin!

  • Never heard this before, but this is so touching and Dermota did a spectacular job. Such a beautiful line and sensitivity. Thank you.

  • Dermota was an extremely fine artist.
