  • my wife has a camera in her box it must be hooked up to the cable company

  • You are so f.cking stupid! Go and take some basic electronic courses! That is an infrared detector for the remote control & the white one is a trimmer!

  • why would you be so anxious to debunk this naysayers? why would you search for this to begin with? a sense of paranoia yourself? how did you end up looking at this? notice its always people denying something but yet are curious if its true or not and once they see someone putting up evidence they deny it.then why are you here? same process with anything that is found later to be true, ridicule and neglect of information because you love your mechanical devices too much Facebook is a tracking you

  • This screams out George Orwell s 1984...

  • Supper glue and 50 cent trip to radio shack I'm sure

  • Uh, that is a coil fella...not a camera.

  • Oh, and the receiver for the remote control is IR (Infrared) not RF (radio frequency).

  • The camera does look as though it's been glued to the transformer, but it wouldn't need a hole in the front panel. A camera can see right through the smoked plastic - this is called "dead front" optics, very common. I will continue my research, as I fully believe da gubmint has indeed coerced manufacturers to build in cams, mics and GPS tracking into almost everything electronic: Phones YES. Laptops YES. Digital cameras and video cams YES. I also suspect smoke detectors and more...

  • You absolute retard! Suppose for a minute the box did have a camera in it. There's no opening in front of it so it is useless. And a converter box HAS NO OUTPUT except the AV wires to your television. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME YOU DOLT?? If there was a camera there would be no way of sending the video ANYWHERE except to YOUR TV.

  • Magnavox - the favored brand of stoners

  • IT IS TRUE THE GOVERMENT MADE THAT HAPPEN TO SPY WHAT WE ARE DOING SO IF YOU GOT ONE DONT HIT YOUR WIFE DONT SELL DRUGS OR OTHER ILEAGAL IN FRONT OF THAT THING CAUSE THAT THING WILL GET YOU

  • 1152 people who doesnt have a life. This is fake. Lay off the weed man. Waste of youtube server space.

  • hey dumbass don't u have anything better to do than make shit up? you should of at least glued the thing to something other than the transformer which generates much heat. no company would ever engineer something like that. if u are going to try and lie to people at least don't be a complete fucking idiot about it. some people out here do have electronic knowledge you know.

  • Check my video reply. A simple flashlight to the face reveals a camera looking device. Is that what it is? I've put a piece of tape over it and the remote still works.

  • see people let things like this dumb u down this is propaganda and so yet we cannot actually realize what they are truly up to

    OH YEA ALIENS EXIST.

  • @ohwhatacereal this guy is an idiot.

  • I agree, why is the camera mounted on the transformer? And if the government wanted to put a camera in there, it would be a little more sophisticated then that

  • Manufacturers would never place a camera/ccd unit on a transformer. Also your microphone is a fraud. I got similar converter boxes and there's no devices present as in your video. Sorry but your clip fell through. It is fake. I'm not saying we are not being spied on, but not with this converter box.

  • fake!

  • A private investigator come into your house while it's empty or when your away from a device long enough, like in the next room asleep. They sneak in and open your vcr, dvr, modem, speakers, and place a small camera/microphone or sonar. Sit 360 ft away and watch, listen and Identify your typing patterns on a keyboard. When I was nine my dads friend, a colonel in the army, used to put these flat devises in the rubber sole of my shoes. It was GPS tracking, audio and sonar.

  • shimana ping patchawanna nuby nuby lo lo lo lo lo lo

  • Stupid, that "mic" is just an ordinary capacitor and that "camera" is just an rf choke coil. Notice how it doesn't even point straight out. why did this guy even think he would know how to fix it?

  • I filmed my whole wedding using one of these cable boxes....

  • Peaople Who Are Saying This Camera is a Fake, They Them Selfes Are The Spies.

We are Already now that These New Gadgets Are Already Mounted in Camera,

So it Doesn't Scare us, We are Going To humilaiate And Foil Their Plot And Evil conspiracy and Fight With Them By any Means Until to a Death.

  • You, sir, are an idiot.

  • FAKE. this is stupid why would they put cameras in cabel boxes? to catch ppl jerking off in front of their HDTVs??

  • Listen to this: I had a college buddy who is an engineer for Time/Warner over at my house years ago, showing me a 2-way microphone inside of a Scientific Atlanta cable box.

  • ok so in my lap is 1 just like that a magnavox and low and behold none of that stuff seems to be in this 1 atleast nothing like this guys has in it

  • even if this video isnt true, the gov. is still spying on us through are laptops/computers and android cell phones

  • @Livinglifehigh you know that's truth

  • Its called a remote (sensor) ya know to change channels "RETARD"

  • This is a hoax. I work on electronics for a living, this guy pointed at a variable resistor (potentiometer) and said it was a microphone. The camera looks unwired and like he glued it to the power transformer. Hoaxes like this are not funny and should not be tolerated because some people believe the lies.

  • this guy's a faggot of the highest magnitude!

  • @javstar2011. Says you Lol..

  • wow, a telescreen, how Orwellian. I wonder how it transmits back to the NSA?

  • Fake ^_^

  • The camera may be real, it does look like a CCD camera but the "microphone" that he points to is a variable resistor.

  • wow your stupid

  • That is the most BS thing I've ever seen. This guy glued a mini cam inside the box, and I guarantee it's a hoax. Even if there was magical mini cameras inside the converter boxees, they dont transmit anything, as an engineer, I've tested on for RF emissions to prove to a coworker that its a complete BS story and there aren't any outgoing transmissions coming from the box. Oh and by the way, that's an INFRARED sensor, not an RF sensor for your remote you retard.

  • Wait fer the LA REDNECK response to this one!! I'll get my camcorder and hook it up to the unit!! LOL maxwell

  • Are you all nut cases or what? You even think for one second this is true you are have a serious brain problem. Yes cameras inside converters, lemmy guess cameras inside tv's... no wait... cameras inside CAMERAS ZOMG!

  • LISTEN UP EVERYBODY !

THIS IS 100000% FAKE......the cover on front of the camera is totally black with no hole.EVEN if there was a camera, how could it record anything if it's view is blocked? You can see a hole on the cover on front of laser receiver eye but there is no hole on front of so called "camera" .

This guy is trying to scare you or maybe he wants lots of YouTube views.Don't believe this B.S.

THUMBS UP SO EVERYONE CAN READ THIS PLEASE.End this hoax.He manually glued that "camera" .

  • @vardanology you are a stupid fuck. the IR sensor uses infrared light. It is an infrared camera, and it doesn't capture a regular image but a heat image. you are so stupid because the front plate is the same for the sensor and the camera.

  • @746c

Go fuck yourself . You actually think they would put a fucking HEAT DETECTOR in a $30 piece of fucking junk ? You don't know what you talkin' about.

  • @vardanology just wake up man, don't waste my time and yours.

  • @746c

what makes you believe this box came with a "camera" ? Get one from the nearest RadioShak or BestBuy and open it.Find out what's inside. There are plenty of people on YouTube who did that.

  • @vardanology Well because cameras use smoked out plastic or glass all the time. My TV remotes and TV have them over the IR LED recievers. But I agree, this is clearly fake.

  • @vardanology Yeah... Plus the camera looks like its been stuck to the bloody transformer. You dont need to be a genius to realize that circuits dont play nicely if they are too close to or making contact with a freaking transformer... The magnetic fields alone would render any video capturing device useless, and most likely would fry the entire board.

  • @davevanos

that's a good point my friend ! I'm glad we have a tech savvy here :D

but I have to admit that I kinda freaked out little bit cz I believed this when I saw the video 1st time lol

  • @vardanology You sound awfully defensive mate.. you sure you aint the C.E.O of Magnavox..? Most ppl would have just wrote Bulllshit, or some word to that effect if they didnt believe it.. and, it sure does look like a camera to me...!!

  • @NrichD

Yes I am the CEO of Magnavox lol

    whatever

  • @vardanology YAWN SHITHEADED TROLL OF SATANS GOVT !!!

  • @vardanology YOU PUSSY SELLOUT PUNK LOSER OF SATAN SHILL TROLL DISINFO DEBUNKER LOSER BOY. SEE YA WHEN MARTIAL LAW HITYS BOY... HOPE THE 900.00 A WEEK WAS WORTH IT !

  • @bigmikey1979

FUCK YOU AND FUCK YOUR MAMA YOU LITTLE COCK-SUCKING SON OF A CUNT !!! GO TAKE YOUR ANTI-PARANOIA PILLS OR ELSE THEY'LL SEND YOU TO PSYCHIATRIC CLINIC........bitch

  • @vardanology see ya soon govt op punk debunker douche !

  • @bigmikey1979

goodbyeeeeeeee fuck faggotty fuck fuck fuck :D

  • @vardanology I'm not saying this is real, but it could be infrared.

  • @flarn2006

Infrared does look like that but it needs TOTAL 100% clear view between an object and the recording eye. That's how infrared works. In this case the "eye" is blocked by the plastic cover. No chances it's recording anyone.

And let's think logically. This company would NEVER do something like that without publicly telling people that they're being recorded. You know what the consequences would be right? Exactly....mass lawsuits against Magnavox.

There is just no way this video is real xD

  • @vardanology youcanseethroughitwithastandardcamerathatswhyitistransparentlikeacameracanseethroughtitbesidesiopenedupminerecentlyandfoundthesameunitsorrybutmyspacebardoesnotwork

  • @oconnellcom

dude it took me 10 minutes to read and decrypt your comment LOL

There is not camera inside. The end of story.

  • @vardanology when you walk in a store, the security cameras have a black bulb surrounding them so the costumers can't see them. Infrared cameras can see through black glass. GAIN KNOWLEDGE BEFORE SHARING YOUR STUPIDITY!

  • 1984- ''big brother is watching you'' lol

  • You got to be shitting me!!!! Well, how do they fricken view the camera? I have the exact same model as this one!!!!

  • yea there in televisions aswell Becuase when u turn on the t.v obviosuly u dont see the camera or u wouldn't think there would be a camera in the television because the picture is made up of electronic particles so it misjudges u to think that there would be one in there. But there is

  • THE CAMERA CANT SEE THROUGH PLASTIC. EVEN IF THERE WAS A CAMERA IT IS IN THE WRONG POSITION. THE CAMERA IN NOT WIRED IN. AND IT SEEMS TO BE ATTACHED TO THE TRANSFORMER. THIS MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. WHAT A DUMB ASS.

  • Ohoo, good, They can watch me tucking my balls in dancing to Q lazzarus's good bye horses!!..lol.. This is ridiculous.

  • Anyway, cookies and your web searches say a lot more about you and what you're interested in, and that data IS being collected all the time. I'd worry more about that, if I were you

  • Use your loaf - even if the government had done something like this, what would the result be? Billions of hours of footage of millions of people watching TV, eating junk food and saying nothing more incriminating than 'Where did you put the remote? Are you sitting on it again?' I don't know about you, but if I were Al Qaeda, I'd do all my secret stuff in the shed (at least until the CIA started bugging the lawnmower)

  • @deantallhat well don't most people put their tv in the living room and or bedroom, where they live, talk on the phone, get dressed, have sex, eat dinner, scratch their bum, carry on conversations, have sex again. Don't forget that if you were to record a police officer without their knowledge, or to record someone's voice/convo without knowledge is a crime, but evidently they can do whatever they want?

  • @sereneyoshiko You're missing the point - what could anyone usefully do with the billions of hours of footage they had captured? - somebody would have to search it all and find the intelligence needles in the haystack of pointless garbage that is our everyday lives. And by the way, how come you seem to be having more sex than the rest of us? Is anyone else involved?

  • @deantallhat I'm not missing the point, you have a valid argument, but at the same time just consider this: on facebook, or anywhere you list your interests, check out certain sites, belong to certain organizations, maybe even type certain words in your communications (totally accessable through the patriot act in U.S.) if you use Fb on your phone, then Fb has your phone# if you join an app on there, in the terms & conditions is says you give them access to have and sell your personal info

  • @deantallhat And I'm sure that there are programs that can be put into place to filter all this information, certain words in your email = red flag, or if you buy a gun, or if you've ever been arrested, or if you belong to some organization that does protests, all this can be filtered so that certain people are of more interest than others, and those people can be monitored, the 'needle' in the hastack found. Generally sex involves at least two people ;)

  • @sereneyoshiko What do you mean - 'at least two'? No wonder the CIA want to monitor you - they want the secret of your seduction technique. (actually, so do I - how do I get into this secret camera monitoring business?)

  • @deantallhat bahahah :) I guess some peoples have more to hide than others, exhibitionist or not - one likes their privacy and personal information should not be sold to the highest bidder, and people should not be tricked into sharing it or secretly taped. I'm sure youre right though, that lots of that footage would be boring and maybe foul.

  • @deantallhat Call me brainwashed by TV news, but I haven't seen a whole lot of lawnmowers in al qaeda territory.

  • @zachf777 That's 'cos they're Secret Lawnmowers, see, (with a special attachment for sand). They have a Head of Secret Gardening called Al-Antitchmarsh. He's really evil and wears a cardigan.

  • @deantallhat @deantallhat millions of hours that a super computer can easily plough through, just like the NSA systems that listen to your mobile phones and read your emails. If the computer detects anything suspicious, a human is notified. Big brother wants to know all, including when you fart and for how long. They want systems that predict everything.

  • @deantallhat well, not that i believe myself to be the tinfoil hat type, BUT who said they had billions of hours of footage or record every bit of it. what if it is just a matter of devoting significant computer resources to monitoring people for incriminating speech about illegal activities (whether its voice detection found on cable providers 800 numbers or some sort of face / lip reading and recognition software to detect wanted criminals). I mean, the tech is out there--not that far fetched.

  • It blows my mind that some people try so hard to disprove what someone is saying based on their own insecurities. Why watch a video about something and then comment that it aint true. Why did you watch the video in the first place. Dont be bothered by trolls they will all burn one day.

  • @Vasque7 That is a stupid question. Would you prefer that I do not watch it and comment on it, or do watch it and comment on it? It seems to me like the second option is the more logical of the two. If fact, not only did I watch the video and then formulate my opinion, but I went further and looked through articles about this video. It's not trolling, either.

  • The video creator did this with old cell phone parts as a joke to freak his friend out. I can't post the link to the article because of youtube's policy against links, but go to wired.com and search for "Hidden Cameras in DTV Converters?"

OMG WAIT MAYBE THE GOVERNMENT IS WATCHING YOU THROUGH YOUR XBOX KINECT!!

    You're all so fucking dumb.

  • It's not fake, I found one in mine and it's a sony.

  • i checked, don't waste your time

    FAKE AND GAY

  • Easily fixed with a bit of blue tack!

  • what an ass hole, those components were the IR for the remote, a capacitor and a transister

  • Is the front cover of the converter transparent?

  • haha! my 82 yr old mom told me when the con. boxes came out and discounted by the gov. that there's something wrong w/ that. she said don't undress or scratch you ass in front of this thing because someone will be watching you. now maybe she wasn't so far off. hope who evers watching isn't jacking off to it, if they are i want to paid nothing's free

  • Sorry for this ignorant question but, are converter boxes the same as satellite receivers? Because that's what I have. It is a Shaw Direct Mottorola. Please someone?

  • @DarkShadowMegadeth Here the're referring to cable converter boxes, not satellite boxes.

  • google SSSS,silent sound spectrum

  • @jacmunbong Hey thanks

  • I figured out how to tune in the signal from these cameras, man is that woman next door hot. There are cameras built into the new LCD and LED tv's too. I managed to tune in everyone that has posted a comment on this video and can say one thing, smile, your on candid camera.

  • The majority of you here don't have a clue... wake the F up.

  • In george orwell's novel,

"nineteen eighty four," everyone had a "telescreen (TV)," and the government used it to spy on its citizens. George Orwell belonged to the shadow government, and was disposed of just like Mozart.

  • Thanks to the "patriot act" your government can do ANYTHING and its all legal. In the end, the "THEY" looses. "Who overcomes by force, overcomes but half his foe." John Milton

  • Glad I found this video. Now I'm gonna go turn my converter box on, pull my ass open, an take a steaming shit on me converter box.

  • this is not a camera, it is the sensor of the signal of the remote control!!!

  • People need to stop smoking so much weed and stop listening to Alex Jones so much. I hear this loony conspiracy BS from more and more people these days.

  • @Rayvyn007 hey hey now mary-jane doesnt make people believe dumb shit, it makes you act your true self wich may very well be a dumbass leave her outta this, now lsd and hardcore drugs will set you off ur track, besides half of them dont even do drugs and are just weak minded scared people.

  • @baker5561 Actually when the government was doing mind control experiments, they tried LSD and marijuana. I don't think MJ helped to control minds, but it does cause people to have feelings of mistrust and paranoia. It causes the chemicals that produce those emotions to be produced in greater than normal quantities. Some people are more susceptible to the effect. But I know a lot of potheads and the vast majority of them believe in the dumbest conspiracies like chemtrails and 9/11 inside job.

  • @Rayvyn007 Of course MJ didnt help mind control, it gives you a voice of your own helps you see everything for what it is (if you use it right). And yes it will cause paranoia if you mis-use it and think of it as a drug, its a tool for the mind body and soul, just not if you abuse it. and what do you mean believe in chemtrails?? go out side and look at the sky, pretty evident to me.

  • @baker5561 Any drug that makes you see stuff you don't see when your normal is suspect. MJ doesn't make you see things more clearly, in fact it impairs some brain functions while it's in your system. MJ is a drug plain and simple and so is alcohol.

  • @baker5561 Oh and about chemtrails, well when I see those lines in the sky, they're contrails and have been around since aircraft fly at altitudes with cold air. It's condensed water vapor from engines or aerodynamic maneuvers over the wings. I've lived near a huge AFB in the 70s to the early 80s and saw tons of them. Nothing ever fell to the ground and caused us to go crazy or get sick. The chemtrail theory is easy to prove, they can fly through them and take samples. Why haven't they?

  • @Rayvyn007 but aren't contrails supposed to disappear and not just stay there??

  • @baker5561 Depends on what kind of contrail it is. A contrail from an aerodynamic maneuver only lasts during the maneuver that is usually done at low altitude. A contrail from an engine happens because the warm engine exhaust causes an artificial cloud of water droplets or tiny ice crystals. Now since those contrails from warm engines are actually the same stuff clouds are made of, how long do you think they can last? Next time you see a cloud, start your stopwatch and stop it when it disappears

  • @Rayvyn007 Well excuse me for being contrail illiterate, but anyone who DOESN'T know all the science behind them might think of them as a bit fishy, but I could care less anyway well breath in deadly toxins no matter what. I am timing them now how about you wait right at your computer for me to post the results, mmk??

  • @baker5561 Me thinks you just hitteth the proverbial nail on the head. Most people do not understand the science so they believe Alex Jones when he claims experts say this or that and they believe web sites with faulty information. When I first heard of the chemtrail conspiracy theory, I looked into it and learned about contrails and the chemicals that they DO spray. The chemicals they do spray are pesticides at low altitudes, cloud seeding and other experiments. Continued in next reply....

  • @baker5561 I also used common sense. If they are spraying something secretly, they would not do it at high altitude and in daylight for all to see. Think about it. At high altitude chemicals would be dispersed greatly and may never reach the ground where they want. Wind is unpredictable for anything coming down. Also you should know that if they wanted to give people chemicals, they would put it in water, bottled and tap. I don't have to wait at my computer, I get an email when you reply, mmk?

  • omg some people stupid.

  • @faceDcrook People are just easily led by any video they see or any guy claiming to be an "expert" because they have a degree or worked in the field. I can tell you this, in the early 1900's expert and top scientists said that if a man traveled at more than 100mph, they would just die. Of course they were proven wrong. They should teach a course in common sense at high schools.

  • @Rayvyn007 So this is your proof to debunk this video?

  • @zachf777 No. It was an example of how people with little info and a lot of imagination with some gullibility thrown in can be easily fooled. They know just enough facts to get themselves in trouble. As for this video, well, to think that the conversion from analog to digital broadcasting is a secret plan by the government to sneak converter boxes with

cameras into our homes is just plain stupid. Anyone can open up a converter box and see the camera so the "secret" would be out.

  • @Rayvyn007 Facts to get into trouble? What are you talking about? Nevermind.

Anyway, your argument that the cameras can be seen when the boxes are disasembled does nothing at all to suggest they're not for spying.

  • @zachf777 Yea the facts they know are many people will need the converter boxes. They know that it is possible to put a spy camera in one. Their reasoning is, if they can do something they must be doing it. It requires no evidence or shoddy evidence like this video that shows a camera but on a transformer. You put that together and the conspiracy lover will say that's proof positive.

  • Comment removed

  • @zachf777 When I say "They got into trouble", the trouble I'm talking about is believing the wrong thing or parroting the wrong thing. Trouble here means they are misled, and then told people it was fact. Now you say you look into things and you looked into this. OK WHERE did you look? Where are your sources conspiracy theory? I have looked into this and I didn't find much proof. Please feel free to comment to me directly and send me any links and other info so I can see your sources OK?

  • @Rayvyn007 You said they only knew enough facts to get them into trouble. Now your saying they're not facts, but "wrong things". I guess that's what made no sense.

  • @zachf777 Do you have some sort of reading comprehension problem? I said the FACTS they have are that there are converter boxes and it's possible to put cameras in them. This does not mean the government is putting cameras in all or even some converter boxes willy nilly. Now please show me your "sources" that back up this conspiracy theory. I always make this request and usually get no answer because some people are ashamed of their sources because the source has little or no credibility.

  • @Rayvyn007 I've heard enough people confirming it's true, but now I'm wondering if they're just mistaking the IR eye for a camera. I guess open one yourself and find out.

  • @Rayvyn007 simply research them. They have alot of other chemicals , and aren't "water vapor". You either have no idea what you're talking about and need to quit trying to teach about something you have no clue on, or you're just a total liar. Either way...

  • @Rayvyn007 Note to self, MJ makes you look at factual evidence. Hmm, thanks.

  • Of course there's no cam. But I'm certain I could closely profile every member of a family not simply by what they choose to watch, but more precisely what they choose not to watch on the alternate channels. Think about it. Even with only five simultaneous choices of completely different veins, each one appealing to specific political, spiritual, or personality characteristics. It would be simple.

  • It most definitely is fake. Where exactly is the light supposed to go through on the front panel? You can see the transparent circle for the IR signal to go through but that's it.

Besides, another dude opened the same box and there was no camera.

  • So important in fact they provided my Grandma, my Dad, and anyone else who filed a form a converter box at no charge. So important that they supplied any foundering, all but forgotten local station all the equipment necessary with no concern at all for viability, interest, profits or budgets. So important that they simply set the date, doled out the funds and forced this monumental overhaul costing hundreds of millions as quietly as flipping a switch.

  • One must only understand the implications of a remotely programmable, electronically registered, seemingly benign piece of digital hardware in every room of every home. Hardware that remains active 24/7, linked to bandwidth capable of both transmitting, and receiving hundreds of millions of simultaneous feeds. Suddenly it’s easy to see the profound significance and critical importance for federally mandated Hogan’s Heroes reruns.

  • THIS VIDEO IS FAKE...I EVEN HIT THE LIKE BUTTON....THANKS DUMBASS

  • The patent that everyone's posted here... is an Apple patent. Most likely for an iSight camera, based on the date.

  • idk, all results lead to the same place, not the patent office.

ill look into it more on my own

  • Time Warner Cable Boxes have Cameras in them 2 the all seeing Eye Logo. I always cover my box when I'm changing or singing to myself.;) He Who Believes He is free is the biggest Slave JFK

  • WOW i guess its true! the govs are really paranoid! Imagine being a government, having to watch a bunch of citizens watching the t.v (looking at you)... Yep paranoid bunch of FREAKS!

  • @RebelResistance2011

The government is not paranoid.....but people who believe this shit ARE paranoid. This $30 junk did not come with a camera inside I guarantee you that,

  • then don't have sex in front of the TV

  • WHAAAAT? IS THAT FO REAL? But what if I buy a converter for my small antenna (rabbit ears)?

  • The kicker is, I'll bet many of the people who espouse this fear have never read 1984 nor even seen the rather sorry cinematic adaptation.

  • I have an Access box for free digital stations and I've noticed that it goes off whenever it wants and when a helicopter or airplane goes over, they affect my t.v. It reminds me of how Afganistani's said that when planes or helicopters went over their homes, their t.v.'s would mess up.The United States admitted that they had rigged their cable or whatever it was. They rigging us too? Yesterday, I put on Facebook, "t.v.: Too much quantity and not enough quality." Today, I have 5 more channels.

  • Are they doing a world survey on couch potatoism?

  • Dude, you are full of it. I have the same exact model and I just opened mine and guess what, NO CAMERA OR MICROPHONE. LMAO, you put that stuff in it yourself. You are a liar and stop trying to deceive people.

  • The so called camera looks like a micro PC speaker for making beep alarms. If it has two terminals, bingo--that's it.

    Google image search (piezoelectric speaker)

The so called microphone looks like a trimpot resistor. If the white dial face of the "mic" has small finger grips on a rotating wheel / dial, & a flat head screwdriver slot.

    Google image search (trimpot vertical)

If you had a better macro lens focus for your shot video, we would have a much better look at what these components are.

  • was it in the "terms and conditions" if not isnt that invasion of privacy?

  • though im not saying this hardware is not real, it seams a bit stupid that they sell these kind of rudimentary devices, one would expect the camera would be much smaller and non perceptible to everyone. though thanks for sharing.

  • That's silly I took mine apart it was 4 screws pretty easy and there is no cam or mike in mine !

  • 1984

  • Ofcourse they can do this with cable boxes, they are (Broadband) just like internet today, you do not need a ethernet wires etc etc... anything that can send out a signal can receive a signal duh!

  • For one, you can see the transistor behind the "mic", and the magnetic field around the transformer would interfere with the camera. Try shooting video with your own camera and a magnet by the lens. BY THE WAY, I AM AN ELECTRONICS ENGINEER. There is so many other ways to "spy on us, this would be a silly idea in the first place.

  • @l3nnz3 well, though im just a network/systems/security engineer, the magnet actually would not allow the recording but, the transformer is usually in the back attached to the ac, correct me if im wrong. And i agree with so many other ways of spying on us, begging with computers, if you guys use micro$oft or apple your information is surely going to the enemies database. Use any flavor of linux or any open source software other than CIA/DOD software/hardware.

  • @l3nnz3 even worst, y0utube, facebook, msn, gmail, yahoo, apple, android, iphoes, all part of the same project, have you ever notice that you cannot even open an iphone and take it's battery off? they are all mass public profiling mechanisms. believe me, facebook is the most scary to me, they know everything about your life, friends, which parties you go, who you deal with, your family, your friends friends, etc. damn scary.

  • @itubenowplease Ha ha, made my day :D

  • Even IF there were a camera in a RECEIVER there would still be no way to TRANSMIT the video anywhere. It is a RECEIVER! No Ethernet, no transmitter, no wifi. NADA! Seriously, even if there were a camera, there would be no way for anyone outside your house to use it. Whoopee, a camera, you can watch yourself! LOL! :-p

  • The mechanism inside an old school color TV was modeled on the HUMAN EYE, so what makes you think every TV set Isnt a potential CAMERA, in HD aswel?! dpmo

  • disconnect mic, celotape over cam,, problem solved,, i lol at these people,, the internet has mad them crazy lol

  • that mic is a potentiometer...dipshit! and i doubt if a electronics manufacturer would mount a cam onto a transformer......also doesnt appear to be any wires coming out of the cam...

  • Ugh, all those ugly people having sex naked in front of the telly.

  • I am quite sure that electronic engineers can make an infrared reciever and camera in one.

  • Oh what david cameron's watched me bust a nut lol jokes on him.

  • I'm installing one in my bedroom. Who wants to watch what I do with my wife...hehehahaha. Hope you pull your mickey right off, you dirty bugger!!

  • @halfvulcan Understood.

What I was getting at was that so many "conspiracy theorists" on here make such nonsense claims like the one in this video, it leads me to believe there is something wrong with them. Sorry if I sounded rude, but it's the truth. I've yet to come across one of these videos with factual data.
