NR updates turned this into completely different game, damage and frame information would of made the guide look stupid as soon as the first update hit. Only morons would expect a non updating guide to provide relevant combos months after its release. This guide was clearly created for the main purpose of providing single player information (challenge tower, krypt info). The combo info is just a bonus.

Then with the worst match-up, they start wandering off into what Raiden would be thinking as he teleports behind Kano.
Here's a dude with some logic and gets it. The only good thing about that guide is the shout outs it gave to people who worked hard to establish MK and push it out of a deep cave the creators have sent the game in. While you bought the guide and hated it, I bought the game and was absolutely turned off and disappointed.

that was a quality review, while i consider myself a very good gamer in general, i admit fighting games are definitely one of my weak points so i nearly got this and now i obviously won't. It said, "The revised Mortal Kombat Character Cards are currently being processed and will start shipping on May 12th. We appreciate your business." As if I had a choice. If you want the revised character cards visit the Prima website and send them an email with your shipping address. It doesn't make up for the book though.

Ive got the same CE guide, and it IS crap. Lui Kangs entire expert combo section is actually Kano's. Finishing moves have wrong inputs ALL the way through, and theres not alot you can do with it. Even the nice glossy cards it comes with have wrong input commands.

Its actually good to not print them, because they are right what do you have if some combos got patched? then u have useless DMG infos ina guide printed whicha rent correct anymore. So point in printing them. Combos themself will not be patched away for sure... so. But Whats a shame is that they forgot some moves and kunglao + luikang is swaped etc. but its ok for its money imho.

Frame data is extremely useful, if this guide was composed of just a turd but had frame data it would be more worth it.
peopl spam the shit out of the same combos online and the connection is shit they could have added more characters but as usual. No!.. And the game just sucks as usual and the controls don't register 35% of the time.
Ok, now I understand how you don't like the guide to MK9. But why did you burn the guide when it cost you money? Why didn't you just return it? You basically wasted your hard earned money while making it so that there was no way that you'd get that money back. Why didn't you just return it? And if you couldn't do that, why didn't you just sell it to someone else? Not everyone thinks the same way about guides that you do. Plus, even if it does suck to them too, it'll become their problem now.
Now you have to look up all those combos online! The expert combs teach you how to use the dash properly and soon you start making up your own combos. Very few people use good combos on xbox live and I really enjoy tearing them to FUCKING SHREDS with Baraka's dash combos. The book has really helped me.

Ok, now I understand how you don't like the guide to MK9. But why did you burn the guide when it cost you money? Why didn't you just return it? You basically wasted your hard earned money while making it so that there was no way that you'd get that money back. Why didn't you just return it? And if you couldn't do that, why didn't you just sell it to someone else? Not everyone thinks the same way about guides that you do. Plus, even if it does suck to them too, it'll become their problem now.

Now you have to look up all those combos online! The expert combs teach you how to use the dash properly and soon you start making up your own combos. Very few people use good combos on xbox live and I really enjoy tearing them to FUCKING SHREDS with Baraka's dash combos. The book has really helped me.

@sk8er4life1620 It's funny since Bradygames makes SHITTY RPG guides with errors EVERY fucking where. Notorious for fucking up on crucial shit while Prima (at least used to) was known for making top notch RPG guides. Seems they both should just stick to the genre they know.

Dude, I almost bought this book, seriously. I stared at and of course you cant open them like the old days, they are fucking sealed...anyways, it looked pro, and said it was tournament worthy info, but I just had a bad feeling about it so I didnt buy it. Glad I did not. I did buy the MVC3 guide when it came out and that guide was amazing.
BTW, I think it is funny he is like whispering the whole time, trying not to wake up the velociraptors next door.

I wanted to buy the guide because I enjoy the art of games and usually it's just convenient to have all the info you need in one book, but having no frame data and no damage listed really killed any incentive to buy it. I guess if you have absolutely no intention of any getting better as a player, then this guide might be OK, lol.

I was just defending my disposition against that moron yesterday. But I was just saying that I am one of those kinds of players that likes to see the mechanics for myself before getting a guide and it turns out that for my character i didn't need it.
