I think if CCP makes it so defenders can hit missiles aimed at friendly targets, and if they make a larger size defender for cruise and siege launchers that does 4x damage, people would use defenders. They wouldn't be overpowered, but they could certainly be strategically important.
I bet people were bitching about no missle counters when the game was in beta or upon release, so CCP decided to make the defenders. As a big fuck you. How dare we question the superiority of the Caldari that the great CCP loves so much?!?!
I remember watching the CPP eve fest and the players asked on the defender missiles they are utterly useless may as well launch missiles more use, i hope they improve them
I'm dubious about using defender missiles in PvP situations, however, testing them against NPC missiles I've found with a good amount of missile skills, defenders shoot down almost every missile directed at you, and more importantly , your fleet.
Ya its some kind of mario cart mix,which is cool, lol freaking awesome there. Well for defender missles seems on the placement and well being of useage. If your doing a operation and you only have about 3 or 4 people total then yah i would say kind of be a waste.However in a larger op have someone fit a drake/or something filled with defender missles I would have to say your saving your fleet guys alot of damage assuming if the enemy is using missles,etc
hm.. afaik your defenders are shooting missiles on their way to YOU only, not to your gangmebers, so as long as this anti missile ship isnt getting shot by a single missile ship, it would be useless, correct me if i am wrong
Defender Missiles are pritty much useless for Frigates yes, but with a ship that can fit many missile launchers, they are an option, Another option i just realised are Rocket Launchers, they fire fast, from 30km away, in the time it takes the missiles to reach you, about 4 volleys of defender missiles will be launched, not to shabby huh? Remember, Defenders move at 7500m/s and fly for 10 seconds at base skills, or 75km, Equip 4 Rocket Launchers and re-do this
I want to know. How many missles you fired, or at least the fire rate from your defender missles and the rate of fire from the battlecruiser.
