In depth look my ass! Ledgers Joker was so removed from the origin of the Joker it has become so mainstream as simply a movie pyschopath. He has nothing in common with the original concept of the Joker.
Bob Kane specifaclly requested Jack Nicholson to play the Joker for the 1989 film. Bob Kane was more than happy of the casting of Jack in 1988. For me Jack is the original 1940's Joker.
I think I liked the Joker at 0:30 the best coz I think it suited him the best, that he was just a big nerd tyring to be cool and evil but ending up just being a pain in the arse. I also like the Joker on the ps3 game Mortal Combat vs DC coz he acts the same as the 0:30 Joker.
I think Jack Nicolsons joker was the most Psycho and Sadistic for real. He played a great part! Just absolute insanity. like the commercial where hes chilling on the beach with the dead girl thats sickkkkkk.
now to me Mark Hamill is The Joker. Heath Ledger did do the an Amazing Job hell even the Academy Thought so (even though they didnt see it with The Dark Knight in General) Heath will Definetly be Remember for his Performance, But as a Hardcore Fan even if the Cartoon from the 90's was censored (just as every other medium with Batman in it besides the Comics) Mark Hamill was The Joker every time i think of The Joker or Read a Comic With Joker i think of Hamill's Evil Insane Laugh

I agree with you.. I had hoped the joker would be a demented version of the Hamil joker, more cleaned up, but still fucked up in the head... Looks have a lot to do with things, and for the latest Batman movie, they changed the joker too much. But still a good ledger performance.

sorry, i loved heath ledger, and its really kind of shocking once you realize that he died via od on sleeping pills because he was having nightmares because he got too into the character of the joker. therefore, just like that, the joker actually killed heath ledger. which freaks me out to no end.
but still, i'm a fan of mark hamill's joker. specifically the one with the black eyes :]
I absolutely loved Mark Hamill's manic portrayal (albeit voice acting) of the Joker. The life he gave to the animated Joker really made you feel like the Joker was truly a dangerous psychotic character despite his over-the-top comical antics. Whereas Heath Ledger's Joker, though very cold & calculating, was more unpredictable like a hidden trip wire on a Claymore, with Hamill's Joker, who was more spontaneous & unstable, there was never any doubt that he was always on the verge of cutting loose.
also the fact that they had completely different senses of humor. ledger's joker liked chaos for chaos' sake, and hamill's was more pointed toward one subject or another. but mainly what gets me is the laugh. i love hamill's laugh :]
I totally agree that Heath is the movie Joker and Hamill is the cartoon/TV Joker (and they are both amazing, though they play two completely different types). Mark Hammill was in the TV series that goes along almost identically to the comics.
Cesar Romero was a joke like u said and had stupid old crimes like turning the cities water supply into Jello etc.
Kevin Michael Richardson went nowhere.
Jack Nicholson was pretty close to what it was. Real crimes, real way of turning pure white, and realistic way of getting the smile
