What I really love about the popmart version is how it follows hold me. KILL ME KILL ME.. then... its alright... its alright... beautiful flow. Also, I love the versions where bono sings "i really want to know you lord" at the end". POPMART can do no wrong. I still love the way the tracks were chosen and the order that they were in. what blows my mind about this song live, is the fact it starts so simply, and escalates into this almighty epic shimmering soundscape, yet it still retains its simplicity.

I'm jealous of any one that has seen U2 since the Joshua Tree tour. While the Joshua Tree was a pretty great show, they were so earnest and serious back then. Their shows seem more fun now. I've had my chances to go but something always got in the way. I'm in the military so work got in the way back in 97 for the Popmart Tour and in 2000 I couldn't get out of work either. Bummer...

Yeah I agree. In the Boy/October/War times he was fully loaded with energy. He became a better singer after that during Unforgetabl fire and Joshua tree. During Zoo TV his voice was very clear, especially the falsetto. Popmart was this smoki voice wich was great for mofo and stuff.

And today I beleive he sings with a lot of heart, heart and sooooooouuuuuuuuuuul!
