  • I love this...like crazy!

  • It was Lee Brice and Kyle Jacobs who wrote the song!

  • LMAO, anyone ever heard of Billy Montana? Maybe someone should ask him who wrote it. Hmmm.

  • Now I may be a little bias because Garth Brooks is my absolute favorite but it seems a good thing he let Garth take this one and nothing bad towards Lee bc I love his other stuff but this is terrible

  • Garth's version was the very 1st song to debut @ #1 on the whole Billboard country chart. Who else but Garth, could pull THAT off?

  • a big FUCK YOU to the guy who keeps talking near the end of the song.

  • watch?v=yBcUk-eJ4PI this is a better vid him his lewis and nick norman did a show for us at the lake where we all grew up

  • he said "hollar and swaller" at aquapalooza to, what an amazing concert, it was on lake travis in texas :)

  • class

  • i LOVE Lee Brice. He's such an amazing writer and when he sings this song, I just melt. I've seen him in concert and all of his songs are amazing. He has a single out called "She ain't right" I love all of his songs. Lee Brice is just....well friggin amazing :)

  • actually its kyle jacobs lee brice and billy montana. all great writers.

  • You got win! Billy Montana in an interview Brice originally had the song idea and most of the lyrics. Brice, Montana, and Kyle Jacobs all three took Brice's orginal lyrics and finished the song that Garth recorded. Hope this helps settle the debate. I heard Brice playing at a little girl's cancer benefit concert in KY a few years back. He was with the song writers, Doug Johnson & Joe Henry that wrote Sarah Beth, aka "Skin."

  • EVERYDAY

  • wow does that song fit me like wow and the pain never goes away i stell feel it after 10 yrs ....

  • This guy is amazing. He really blows Garth out of the water on this one ... and I'm an Indie music snob. Unbelievable job man. Keep on writing stuff like this.

  • hes Great.

    I like him.

but i mean.. Noone I MEAN NOONE beats Garth. Bahaha

  • I wish I had no idea what this guy was talking about.

  • rippedwrangler is right it was a co-written song. I watched Kyle Jacobs perform it at the Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville. He mentioned Lee Brice before singing it. But personally I think it is a great song, would have loved to been the one that recorded it.

  • I totally relate to this song because I just went through something last year that this song decribes perfectly

  • good song nice voice

  • Garth chose to sing it

    really

  • I like his version better than Garth's.

  • As far as the performance; the song is too high for him. He just needs to sing it in a lower key that is in his range.

  • This is not "The guy who Wrote it." He is ONE of the guys who wrote it. The song was written by Lee Brice, Billy Montana and Kyle Jacobs, so don't give him all of the credit. Personally, I think it's an OK song, but not one that would ever have hit the charts at all except for "Garthmania." By that I mean his legions of fans were ecstatic to have something new out of him during his "retirement." The song itself really is not a stand-out.

  • i respectfully disagree i think its a really well written song and relates to alot of people so in my opinion i think it would have still been on the charts it may not have debuted at number one but still a great song

  • he is amazing! I thought he was much better then Garth singing it.

  • blasphemy

  • i feel this song so much, been there felt that...awesome song dude, way better then the garth version

  • This guy's gotta be amazingly happy that Garth took the song, 'cause honestly, he sounds like crap.

  • garth sounds good because he has the money to get good systems to help out his flat or sharp notes. i've never seen garth just go without a mic. lee brice is the shit. at least he writes his own music.

  • You are an idiot. Listen to both versions and feel the difference in the songs. If this guy had the same resources as Garth, he would have been the one recording this song.

    Excellent!!!!!!!!!!

  • You are an amazing singer. I feel that you really put every ounce of energy into this song! Much better than Garth, and Garth is my boy! I'm a guy, and you singing this song puts myself in tears. If you could, get back to me and tell me how you do it. Thank you! Thank you for creating such a masterpiece!

  • i LOVE this song!!!!!

i saw him perform today at a day in the country in georgia!

he sang this song and said garth brooks called him personaaly and asked him if he could sing this song

it was amazing to see him perform

i was like 10 feet awya from the stage

    it was awesome : )

    -danielle

  • great song love it heap... and it was a great choice to get garth brooks to use your song. He has imo the best voice for this song ... 10/10 GREAT SONG ..WILL LIVE ON FOR ALONG TIME

  • you are MORE than amazing. your wife is very lucky :]

  • not true

  • Check out the guy just to the right of Lee. He definatly gets the song. He's thinking about someone other than the girl he's with. He's thinking about "The One That Got Away!"

  • an awsome jerrod nieman song...

  • This is greater than the what garth could do with it. Love it!

  • i love this song. definitely relates to me right now.

  • Wait so this is Lee than? Not Garth? But cool though.

  • yep, i went to highschool with lee. he wrote this song. im a writer too. check me out. i taught him everything he knows. haha!

  • YES Lee wrote it.... A friend of mine and myself know him really well he's an awesome person

  • Streetballera3, with a user name like that, it's obvious that you should be posting on some of the rap videos and for your opinion, he can sing he's sold thousands of albums, just so you know.

  • AWSOME. Very nice. Is it true he wrote it?

  • streetballer3-- Lee sings his ass off. i agree that his voice is not outstanding, but he sings with a passion that is, in my opinion, the best in our time. his writing is without a doubt the best. anything better cames from before the 90's.... although, his tone and voice is something that you know how to distinguish whwn you hear it. just hear it and listen.

  • Lee Brice wrote this song, video dark cant tell if its really him. His new single Happy Endings is about the same girl as in the song More then a Memory.

  • still not as good as garth though.

  • This is without a doubt the best broken heart song I have heard. What an amazing song (and the singing isn't bad either!)

  • this guy is awesome....better version than garth brooks in my opinion

  • god I love Lee!! he's so amazing! his voice is so unique--and his writing makes me melt!

  • this guy is fucking more talented than any of u f'rs so write a song sing a song play a song or shut the fuck up

  • Thats the way most songwriters are like. Its just so hard to get someone to sing your song the way you here it in your head. Songwriters are gifted, just like the singers that the songs make famous!!!!

  • yep this is my boy

  • dude, sick, u jam the guitar to much

  • he does not sing it like garth brooks but dang he can the song awsome and can sing it alright

  • According to billboard 3 people wrote this song: More Than a Memory Montana, Billy/Jacobs, Kyle/Brice, Lee

  • Yes, credits do read three folks. But, anyone who writes a song and is within a writing contract, all parties get credit. This song was first performed by Lee Brice at the Grand Ole Opry. Garth was there, heard it, and called Lee to see if he could add it to his upcoming project. And the rest is history. How do I know? My brother is very close friends with Lee, talks to him 2-3 times per week. If you check out CMT there is more on this song, and when it was released, etc. Garth loves Lee.

  • lee does have a recording contract and he has two singles out

  • Can someone please give lee a recording contract?? So much better than Garth, i mean im a huge fan of Garth but i like lees vioce more on this song

  • He didn't write the song. The guy who wrote it, sent it down to Nashville, the song was stolen, and the guy who really wrote it, sued, but the lawyers ended up paying the original writer off.

  • no, no, no.

  • ur a fucking idiot

  • @wwegirl93 noo.. Lee deffinitely did write this song.

  • Yea you're wrong on that one.....Lee's a buddy of mine and I remember him playing it for me the night he wrote it. Literally 2 hours after it was written...the other guy got "paid off" because there is lawsuits everyday by ppl from the sticks that say they "wrote" a song and really there's just similarities in wording or phrases or the melody. They "pay them off" because it's less hassle than going to court.

  • @wwegirl93 lee brice did write this song. i know him and his whole family

  • @wwegirl93 you are very, very wrong. lee brice wrote this song.

  • @wwegirl93 I know Lee - he DID in fact write this song. Garth heard it and called him up.. asked him if he could record it. What would YOU say as a song writer if Garth called up and asked if he could record one of your songs?? Um.. personally, I'd say, "Hell Yes, Mr. Brooks! I'd be honored if you would record one of my songs!" ;)

  • @cariparker1 you are exactly right on everything you posted!

  • Lee has also mentioned that he that he has other performers like Keith Urban wanting to record his material, not just Garth.

  • lee brice play football for clemson baby hell ya go tigers....and i bet he's getting a pretty hefty check from garth for this song

  • Everyone needs to quit being ignorant. Lee Brice is making money off of the song, he is getting the same amount of credit as any other songwriter. Lee Brice also has another song, "She Aint Right" which is just as good if not better. Whoever filmed this was lucky to have a seat that close to a up and coming star like Lee.

  • actually, this version gets me more than garth does. I dunno, guess just feel the emotion more...

  • Same here.

  • I give him a lot of credit for the song, but Garth Brooks is an entertainer... He does the song much better.

  • He's good...but the right person to sing the song made it a hit...but he's definitely an awesome song writer!!

  • The Garth Brooks: The Ultimate Hits CD set does credit Lee Brice so he is getting credit. And Lee Brice could not have offered this song to a better performer. BUT Nashville is hard and a lot of performers break into the scene by being songwriters first. Now I haven't ever heard of Lee Brice (so excuse my ignorance) but if he is interested in becoming a performer and keeps committing himself to songs as great as this one - then Nashville will have another great star.

  • lee brice should have sang the song and put it on a album

  • Wow I didin't know that Lee Brice wrote the song! I mean I like Garth but they should certainly give Lee way more credit than he is getting, wait they're not even giving him credit! LOL! It must suck for him knowing he wrote it and Garth is getting most of the credit. I guess it is bittrsweet for Lee.

  • yeah i agree, it looks like you would hear more of lee brice's name here lately. i bet that dude is getting the $ so he probably don't give a shit, you know. Lee is an awesome guy though, really good singer and songwriter. the thing about it is, you just gotta be in the right place at the right Nashville time.

    thanks for watching,

    check out my own videos,

    Trevor

  • LMAO....Garth brooks co-wrote this song...This guy wrote the tabs...This song was wrote and sang by the greatest Country singer of all time...

  • Actually Lee Brice did write this song.

  • You're right he did and I don't think a lot of people know that. But they should still give Lee as much credit as they do Garth.

  • Very, very true.

  • According to billboard 3 people wrote this song: More Than a Memory Montana, Billy/Jacobs, Kyle/Brice, Lee

  • You are forgetting someone that goes by George Strait... Difference is Garth sings bout the cowboy life and George lives it and sings about it! Garth once admitted he wished he would have grown up on a ranch and lived the cowboy way.

  • He's gonna make it big! Amazing!

  • this is a great song but is it just me or has modern rock/pop began to mix with country in the last 5 years. this really doesnt sound like a country song. sounds like john mayer would sing it. just an observation

  • test

  • brice must have the biggest pride knowing that he helped write a smash hit for one of the kings of country music. this is probably very rare footage.

  • Lee Brice is amazing!!! So fun in concert!!

  • nice

  • this is AWESOME! cant wait to see him with eric and the randy rogers band! nov 10, you should join us!!

  • <3 Lee Brice! thanks.

  • i wish i could see what chords he was playing :(

  • no shit. I would love a tab chart for this
