Cool vid dude. You should check out Johnny Rabb. He's a pioneer in this technique and uses it on EVERYTHING, including the floor tom(s) and on ELECTRONIC DRUMS. Personally, I would just use drop-catch or fingers/wrist (marching drumming does wonders for chops).
