All fired up quest guide

i'm having a little trouble with this quest:

i'm trying to add the logs to it and it says; "Now is not the time to be messing with the beacons - there's a threat from the Wilderness and we're all on high alert." Any idea what to do? (this is trying to light the first beacon)
