  • What were Syracuse and Tennessee ranked at the time?

  • LOL @ McGwire highlight.

  • you're an idiot. Visiting teams always bring their refs, its common practice in 1 and 1 series. They were SEC refs. And as for having a shot at the ball, the CB has the right to move into the spot to go after the ball, especially when they hit at the same time, it happens all the time in football.

Also, to make or break an entire game, and what turned out to be an entire season, on one call in the 4th quarter is ridiculous. Tennessee lost that game, but got saved.

  • @hls0408 oh stop bitching it was in 98

  • Thank you so much for posting this video, Yankeefan!!!

I was born and raised in Syracuse, but moved to Knoxville when I was 9 years old. Before this game, I was talking so much trash about how Tennessee didn't have a chance against Syracuse and our brilliant quarterback, Donovan McNabb. After all, Tennessee had just graduated Peyton Manning and Leonard Little... no way they'd be any good that year, right?

This was a hell of a game. Seeing this 13 years later brings back great memories!

  • his0408 - Play the video back frame by frame and you will see he was hit just before the ball got there. It was close, yes, very close, but the receiver did not have a chance to catch the ball. Very close call, I disagree with Tennessee getting the calls all game. That was a wild game and not an easy one for the officials to call. Both teams received some questionable calls.

  • not even close to interference yankeefan, your blind by your biased. Both the CB and WR have a right to a ball in the air, and he hit him as the ball got there, which he has a right to do. Also, referees are not supposed to make calls then to decide games, in any sport. Referees don't decide games. Tennessee lost that game without a doubt, but the SEC refs made calls for Tenn all game long. Even the Tenn announcer admits after that interference call they were getting calls all day.

  • @hls0408 I'm sure Miami is still whining about the pass interference call in the endzone that gave OSU the national title in '01. You can go back and forth all day, but these sorts of calls are a part of the game. This is a judgment call.

  • @hls0408 The Syracuse player made no attempt to make a play on the ball. He nailed Wilson in the back before the ball got there. That is the definition of interference. Damn, I can't believe you're so sore over this after 13 years.

  • @hls0408

They weren't SEC refs, you dork. The game was at freaking Syracuse.

Also, you don't understand pass interference. When the receiver player is bowled over FROM BEHIND by the DB when the ball is in flight but still 10-15 yards away, that's interference, because the receiver isn't being allowed to even attempt the catch.

You're correct in that both players have the right to the ball... and the Tennessee receiver was denied his right at attempting the catch.

  • It was clearly interference.

  • @yankeefanintenn yes, thankyou yankeefan I am a vol fan, but i really love another chance to watch the performance mcnabb gave again.i was impressed then as i am now.I'm just glad we won.

  • Thanks Yankeefan, we were lucky as hell to get that interference call.
