  • Do yo hear me SEGA? This MUST be the Episode 2 theme! Otherwise we'll boycott Sonic!

  • Hey, I might make a Sonic 4 Cinematic Edition Movie later on. Do you mind if i use this? I'll credit you.

  • *Sigh* In a perfect world...

  • *cries seeing what could have been*

  • This is incredible dude. Sonic 4 is my favorite theme in the franchise and I think this is perfect.

  • @SonicTweaker AWESOME JOB DUDE! can I use your theme and title screen for a fan-game? Actually it's more than a simple fan-game, it is a very ambitious project which I've been working since last year with some people. it's a sort of remake of the sonic 4 levels on 2.5D with a lot better graphics (It's rendered by the Unity 3D motor) just like sonic fan remix, and I'm plannig to call it "Sonic 4:Classic"

  • ERTRDHYR

  • looks a hell of a lot better than the actual one used in sonic 4

  • My first thought:

Sonic 3CD and Knuckles and Knuckles.

  • @twisterkid99 lol, super gaming bros

  • @twisterkid99 It will happen someday...

  • So this was a joke, right? :D

  • its great exept the hand is to big

    good job though

  • Better than the way RGXSuperSonic drew Sonic. No offense to him.

  • (to self) Well YOU wanted the black eyed sonic...

  • "after being appalled at the horrible title screen music slated for use in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4"

unsubscribed. How can you call yourself a Sonic fan?

  • It's similar to the JP version of the Sonic CD intro. It's good.

  • "at the horrible title screen music slated for use in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4"

You gotta be kidding me, right? Jun Senoue is the master of Sonic Soundtrakcs...

  • Tweaker, your work is amazing! Sonic Megamix is brilliant! (and hats off to the others who were involved, such as nineko, stealth etc.) I would love to see the next version of Megamix. if I have heard correctly, there's a version 5 rumoured?

  • If only this guy didn't talk crap, i'd like his videos 100%, but I don't.

  • This proves the music is good, but the instruments are bad.

  • EPIC?

  • @secrecaryoo090 its classic sonic

  • Sonic's eyes are green FYI btw

  • @LilDuffleBaggboy *sigh of relief* GOOD. I don't care HOW bad a sonic game is. If they say they're making more than one from the start, they NEED TO FINISH IT. I was scared for a second. (I haven't even been able to play the first ep of Sonic 4 yet! O_O)

  • better than the actual one :)

  • I sould treaten to blow up Sega if they dont make a Sonic 4 episode 2.

  • @samandmrcheese SEGA apparently canceled Sonic 4 episode 2 to because of all the "true" Sonic fans that hated on it.

  • @SmashBroGameAndWatch I know they canceled it, thats why I want to do that.

  • 4 haters stoped hating.........?

  • Proof that Sonic 4 music is fine, but the instruments are terrible.

  • Jun Senoue sucks, get Masato Nakamura to do the music again, Sonic deserves his funk.

  • This is what sonic should alaways look like! A bit of oldschool with a bit of newschool!!! PERFECT COMBO!

  • @Pinky5074 Agreed. It's the only real way to even attempt to please both fanbases. Even though Sonic 4 wasn't perfect, it was definitely a step in the right direction.

  • Epic.

  • Don't get me wrong, this song kicks ASS. But doesn't this kinda count as nostalgia perfectionism...?

  • Rumors Have it a long forgotten Character will reappear at the end of the game..

I'm either going with Tails Doll or Mighty...

  • @AmricanGir Or maybe Ray?

  • *heads explode*

  • i like ur remix, but i think the original is also fine

  • @SonicTweaker

nope i FAR from a troll

and if it seemed like i was i wasnt so im sorry.

i wasnt trying to start anything

  • Comment removed

  • @SonicTweaker pleaz can u extened this up to 10 minutes

  • @SonicTweaker nope i wasnt trying to troll at that time...i was stating a fact

sorry if i sounded like it

  • @SonicTweaker What presets did you use in FL Studio to make such an arrangement of Sonic CD?

  • @SonicTweaker Troll indeed. But Jun definintely DOES know how to make Sonic music properly, he was obviously having a bad day or something when he made Sonic 4 XD

  • @SonicTweaker I don't like this game, but I think music is good, not as the other Sonic games, but good.

Especially with a better soundfont, I hate the Sonic 4 one :/

  • @eddylugia What the hell are you talking about? You need to make a lttle more sense, I can't understand what you're saying, other than you don't like Sonic 4.

  • @Funkermonster I just said that I don't like Sonic 4, but I like its music. And that I hate the Sonic 4 soundfont...

    -.-

  • @eddylugia That makes sense, but you have a terrible taste. Sonic 4 is a decent game, but it's not as good as the other Sonic Games. Besides Sonic isn't fully released yet.

  • @Funkermonster the only thing I liked of the game was the final boss...

the levels in sonic 4 are too easy and copies of the previouses games...anyway if you like it it's good for you

  • @eddylugia The final boss is terrible. The Labyrinth boss was better. And Sonic 4 isn't fully released yet, you just might like episode 2. And why even bring it up? What he's talking about probably doesn't relate to how good or bad Sonic 4 is, so what's the fucking point of replying to him? But I respect your opinion.

  • @eddylugia If you don't like Sonic 4, then keep it to yourself. Simple as that. What's the fucking point of replying to him? This isn't even Sonic 4, his is fanmade.

  • @SonicTweaker I apologize, but I missed the joke/troll/whatever.

  • @SonicTweaker i don't get crappymovies's comment

  • @crappymovies He did do the soundtrack for Sonic 3 and Knuckles, as well as 3D Blast. So you are right... somewhat.

  • @crappymovies

Jun didn't do 1 and 2 for definate. it was Masato Nakamura.

  • I love this actually :3

  • This picture reminds me of Astro Boy!

  • Oh, Jun Senoue knows Sonic Music, he only screwed up in Sonic 4's music, but the game sucks anyway, so it's music kinda suits it. =P

  • First I thought this music actually was the game´s theme music. And I still wish it was so, because this is way better than the original as you said!

  • uhh i pretty sure jun sunoe know sonic music when hes been the music man

since sonic 3 but this version is really good but the original is awsome this guy doesnt know squat

  • I have to say, a good piece of music, but definitely NOT better than the original one, haha.

  • for some reason i really like sonics old design... he is ... simple. a good simple. instead of a green eyed tall one, this one is much better. i also love how back then the stories were simple and fun, but nowadays sega is making stupid dark stories that hardly make sense.

  • @poopey3000 : Sega seems to be wanting to make simple stories again if Sonic Colors story is any indication.

  • I WISH this was the actual opening...but indeed it isn't...sadface

  • sonic looks so young now he looks allot different

  • THis just sounds like the new sonic shit, the actual sonic 4 music is retro, it has 16 bit sounds. I would rather listen to 16 bit sounds than some crazy new age bullshit.

  • people are saying that sonic 4 EP 2 will be like sonic CD i hope so that game was amazing

  • I'm waiting for a remake on the sega cd

  • this is how it shouldve been

  • Idk, I like all the music to Sonic 4.

  • Honestly, the music from Sonic CD never struck me as all that Sonic-y, so this remix, while nice, doesn't give off much of a Sonic vibe. Just saying.

  • This is way better and so is the appearance of Sonic. I love the new game but there are a couple of tiny details most people would prefer changed - long spikes sonic sucks for example.

  • Toot Toot Sonic Warrior!

  • GREEN EYES

  • @HigureCommando Lol, I think this was only an early concept art thing or fan art. Sonic used to look like this I recently found out. I think you and I both grow up with the "New Generation Sonic" which is skinnier, has green eyes, modern sneakers and longer spikes. (I researched this recently; I was curious to find out)

  • Sonic's hand looks bigger than his face.

  • i like the look of this sonic it seems to properly match the classic sonic hope they stick with it

  • Sooooooo much better

  • This Sonic looks cool is like a retro-modernized Sonic(notice the elbows are not curve and his belly is not a circle)

  • Hello, i started hacking Sonic rom and i'm making a hack of Sonic 4 16-bit CD quality, can i use this? also can i use your splash hill zone music?

  • Sonic's hand is HUGE!

  • @SuperNintendoGameboy Welcome to the classic Sonic.

  • I find it funny that the description claims that "these people" don't know Sonic music, when "these people" are JUN SENOUE.

  • @SergeantLuke This video was posted before it was revealed that Senoue was doing the soundtrack. This is also Senoue's worst work in pretty much any context ever (though the best works in games he was involved in weren't his compositions anyway, so it's not like he's some infallible musical god as the story goes).

  • @SonicTweaker Yeah, I know you didn't know at the time. I just found it amusing.

And, not to disrespect your opinion or anything, but what don't you like about the original track? I rather like it.

  • @SonicTweaker Aside from that, TRUE Sonic music is Masato Nakamura....the Sonic theme, level end, extra life, etc, etc....it was all so much better in sonic 1 and 2.

  • @SonicTweaker

To be honest, I really don't think it was Jun-san's fault that the music wasn't as good, but rather Sega's direction.

Also, not every composer is perfect. For example, I fucking love Koji Kondo's work to death (Particularly Mario and Zelda) but I didn't really care for his Star Fox music.

  • @SonicTweaker But neither are you. I can appreciate the talent you so clearly possess. However, it is ironic that you can be so arrogant yet you're basically copying Senoue's original work. If you desired to truly make your point, you would have created an original composition using Genesis/MD synths. As it stands, however, you have just created a glorified cover.

  • @earlyriser03 Apparently the nuances in a particular style of arrangement are completely lost on you. If you don't understand the significance, I get it, but to insinuate that this "glorified cover" doesn't make a point in how Sonic music has been and /should/ be arranged is just plain wrong. Sorry.

That said, I have created compositions using the YM2612 before. I don't see how they're any better or worse than this because I wasn't trying to make something original here.

  • @SonicTweaker Why generalize Sonic music? Considering it runs the gamut of musical genres and compositions, I'd argue that finding a particular one to pinpoint it as relating to the whole is about as futile as finding a truly content Sonic fanboy. Your COVER proves nothing except that you have the gall to type inflammatory accusations yet only produce a derivative work as a response. If you were trying to support an argument with this as the evidence then you failed. At least it sounds good.

  • @earlyriser03 I "generalize," first off, because music is subjective; as such, everyone is going to have their own opinion as to what "Sonic music" sounds like. My opinion is that the Japanese Sonic CD soundtrack--you know, what this arrangement was based from--is the most fitting to the games. I have explained again and again that the primary problem with Sonic 4's music was style and instrumentation, and I have taken the necessary steps to rectify these issues myself to the best of my ability.

  • @SonicTweaker And I can respect that. However, my issue from the very beginning was your arrogant video description and your resultant reply to SgtLuke's comment as if it was an excuse for your arrogance. Perhaps it was fueled by what you feel is lackadaisical effort on Sega/Senoue's part. However, someone as gifted as you should realize that strong, VALID opinions are only crippled when backed by statements of hubris and arrogance.

  • @earlyriser03 That said, if your intent is to do little more than attempt to belittle me and impose some sort of moral superiority over me for having a strong opinion that I decided to do something about, then do yourself a favor and stop wasting your breath. I won't be listening.

  • @SonicTweaker I'm just making a point. You chose to remark that Sega does not know how to do Sonic music "properly". I could dismiss such arrogance if you had presented a quality ORIGINAL composition. I may not have liked it but I could have respected the effort taken and given you your due. Instead, you backed your "strong opinion" with a derivative work, proving in this instance that you are only a talented cover artist. A shame your anger and hubris blinds you of this simple fact.

  • @earlyriser03 And your arrogance blinds you to the fact that you seem to have absolutely no idea to what extent my musical talents extend. I can and have made several Sonic-themed original compositions, some of which have even been commissioned by other people. My intent behind posting my music is not to appease you, but to entertain those on this website that enjoy my work.

I'm not concerned whether or not you consider this example adequate by your own standards to convey my point--only my own.

  • @SonicTweaker I've recognized your talent several times. I've heard what you can do. Your ability is not the issue. The issue, which is what I always return to, is your inability to realize that your claims in this instance hold no validity if you present ONLY a derivative work as your "proof" of musical superiority. Why make such proclamations if you cannot back them up properly? Your hubris must know no bounds if you think I'm doing anything other than addressing your inflammatory remarks.

  • @earlyriser03 Why does a derivative work prove nothing? You seem to be under the impression that, again, an "improvement" has to be a new song. The melody was solid; the style of arrangement and instrumentation was not. That was my criticism--that the structure of the song made it sound absolutely horrible, which it does. Changing the arrangement brought a new level of memorability and catchiness that--if nobody else, for me--was a considerable improvement on the original.

  • @SonicTweaker It means nothing when you use it as proof that Sega/Senoue does not know how to do Sonic music properly. You presented your opinion as fact and the resultant work as hard evidence, when neither fall into these categories. Example: if another composer were to claim that you didn't know how to compose a tune to a Sonic night zone properly, would it not make sense for the composer to present their own work as an example of what it should be without ever deriving from your composition?

  • @SonicTweaker That said, after reading your recent explanation, I can finally understand what your goal was. You were not out to prove that you could do Sonic music better in this instance. That was just baseless rhetoric. You merely wanted to present what YOU felt it should sound like. Period. So congrats! You really did make a wonderful sounding track and you have enormous talent. It's already got a Like from me. It is neither better nor worse than the original and I appreciate your effort.

  • @SonicTweaker What kind of program did you use to make such a Sonic CD arrangement?

  • @SergeantLuke yeah, and basicly this theme is exactly like to original sonic 4 theme but with sonc cd opening sound, the original just has the classic sonic 1/2 opening sound (drums)

  • @SergeantLuke He didn't compose the music for any of the sonic games on the Genesis. Look it up.

  • @obocas Yeah he did. He wrote sound effects for Sonic 3 and co-composed the score for Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis version). And he also composed the music for nearly every 3D Sonic game, which was what I was referring to.

  • @SergeantLuke All you say is true. But we're not discussing facts here; this is all a matter of opinion, and I personally find his compositions on Sonic 4 to be rather weak, even compared to his earlier works.

  • @obocas Well, I thought we WERE discussing facts. All you said was that he didn't compose any Genesis songs, and I replied that no, he didn't, but he did write the music for most of the sixth-gen games. And I agree, his Sonic 4 stuff is pretty mediocre (except for the awesome Splash Hill Zone).

  • @SergeantLuke

Yeah well, some people lose their touch over time.

  • @SergeantLuke

Damn I was gonna say that.lol

    YA-HA!!!

  • @SergeantLuke HEY!!! Jun Senoue is the best thing that ever happened to Sonic! SHUT UP!!! >:(

  • @shadowclone452 Uh... yes, I agree, Jun Senoue is awesome. Why do you want me to shut up?

  • @SergeantLuke OMG I'm SO sorry! I thought you were dissing Jun my bad.

  • It's sad because I heard this version first, which sounds good, and I almost mistook it for the actual one. Then I hear the real one.........omg sega why?

  • i wish sonic looked like this in the game

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, SonicTweaker, but the original song's WAY better. They're professional music composers for a reason...

Also, ShadooTheHedgehog is full of crap. The Ringedge is an ARCADE platform that Sega has just recently acquired. It's not a home console, which, in turn, means that Sonic 4 won't be on it.

  • @madmaestro3000 Well, your theories ar full of crap too then.

  • @ShadooTheHedgehog Theories? You're stating something like it's a fact, when it's completely wrong. "If anyone doesn't know"? Seriously?

No, the only theories that are full of crap are yours...

  • @madmaestro3000 Yeah, i just try to be nice and say a fact and someone barges in and starts this crap.

  • @ShadooTheHedgehog You're NOT saying a fact, though... You're WRONG. >:(

  • If anyone doesn't know, Sega's making a new system named Ringedge which this will be on. Instead of the consoles having to wait for the episodes, the CD will come with all of 'em.

  • @ShadooTheHedgehog Seriously?

  • O.O Appalled? Wel, you can't help that now can you? (to Tweaker)

Blame Senoue if you must, people, but this is only because you guys complain about the lack of classic Sonic. Ah, and Dimps using a separate act for a boss, with the signature 12 ring run-up before you face the boss, used once more?

COME ON YOU PEOPLE! If you guys just want a classical Sonic, get Mega Collection Plus or something. >_> (to all classic Sonic fans)

  • @FieraDevilWings - Now, before you point out my spelling mistake, it's "Well". Sorry about that (you grammar nazis).

  • Where did you get the Sonic 4 image from? Looks official-Heres hoping Sega have dropped the green eyed wirey more gobby Sonic of recent years.

  • @RtardD2 - No, it's not official. It's just a mockup. Besides, it may be a bit too generic these days to have just black ovals for pupils. MAY be. I'm not saying it is...

  • i like more the original theme than this remix

  • This is good but, I don't think the Sonic 4 title theme is "appalling". It sounded fine to me, and the splash hill zone themes aren't too bad either.

  • This is awesome. Pure epicness.

  • I thought this was the one made by sega because I saw it on another video, I was really impressed....and then I found the one by sega and I was like "oh....what the hell is this shit?!"

  • Sounds a hell of a lot like the European Sonic CD opening...

  • @sammycrow30 Yes, that's the idea. :)

  • @sammycrow30 Damn! I was just about to comment on that! I hadn't played the J/EU version until recently, but when I did, I thought, "Hey, don't I know this from somewhere?"

  • @sammycrow30 what can you expect ? , sonic team have always made great tracks for the old games ^^ i bet its about 100 different level songs for the sonic 2d games if you count all of em, so now i imagine that its might be pretty hard to not make something simular to the others xP

  • Anyone who thinks this looks better is retarded

  • Lol sonic's hand is as big as his head!

  • @rtsdee *gasps*he must have cancer!!!

  • @rtsdee Great going fanbase. YOU GAVE SONIC CANCER!!!

  • I WANT THIS GAME!

  • gay music

  • yes this would have been much better but they had to stick with the god damn next gen sonic

  • Way better than that original bullshit title screen music. I only think Sonic looks weird in the image. lol

  • I havent heard a more catchy song since Toot Toot Sonic Warrior

Damn i cant wait for this game!

  • @drago9561 ya but non of that stupid, co op shit, and crash cant look insane like he did in thet monster game...

  • I'm sure everyone would have complained regardless.

Even if THEY USED EVERY SINGLE EXACT GENESIS DETAIL,they would still whine and moan.

  • @shadowluma For some reason, I think that's 100% true.

  • @shadowluma No, they wouldn't.

  • @tcvicesquad

    They most likely would.

They would probably say something like,"He's not new enough!"

Sega has to appeal to both audiences,Old and new.

They brought back the classic game play, and people are complaining about "Eye Color."

And they brought in the newer graphics,so the newer audience would get in on it.

Sega would hardly make any money if they just appealed to one of the audiences, but If they grab both = money.

  • @shadowluma That's what the problem is with the Sonic fanbase. Somewhere along the line, it seems Sega attracted all sorts of different people with different tastes... So now they have a mosh pit fanbase looking for everything, and they need to find ONE idea which is appealing to EVERYONE XD

  • @shadowluma SEGA could release what is basically a quality ROM hack of Sonic 3 and Knuckles. People. Would. COMPLAIN.

  • @shadowluma - Main reason being that Sonic 4 took SO LONG to be truly made.

  • @shadowluma

Because.......... There was a new badnik that was nothing like the original .

  • @didowexbox

New things expand the gameplay, just playing new levels in the Genesis game would get ridiculously boring.

  • @shadowluma I know.

I am just saying there will be "fanboys" (which I like to call TROLLS) will always complain .

  • @didowexbox So true. In fact, SEGA listened to the Sonic fans during the creation of this game, so fans got what they wanted, how can they still complain about it?

  • @MsDeltaPhoenix My only gripe about the game is they should've added at least one more level with three acts...but otherwise I wholeheartedly enjoyed playing Sonic 4 on my iPod Touch 3G even with the similar Rush Engine physics...I wonder what fans would complain about then if the physics in Sonic 4 were emulated perfectly to the classics. Unlike other new Sonic games, the music from particular levels are stuck in my head in the same fashion as the music from S1/2/3/SK/CD

  • @shadowluma

Lol yup, people just like bitching, his eyes are to green, the physics are garbage, the music is dumb wa wa wa.

  • @shadowluma I know I would. I wanted a new game, not a rehash! ^^

  • Comment removed

  • @drago9561 good point i hav'int seen crash for a long time

  • this would be a lot better

  • WTF DID SONIC'S FACE MELT

  • the cd one sounds hier quallity music, ill think ill get cd

  • Hey there you are sonic, we've been having to put up with this stretched-up blue faggot who claims he's sonic for 11 years now, 12 years in japan.

  • @rtsdee QFT
