such alot of hate for what is essentially a great actor in a great role. i like steve pemberton and really what were you expecting drumknott is a man that completely gets lord vetenari so of course he would have that insight into human nature that can make him seem sinister . hes officious and fussy and when you get down to it as cunning as vetenari so why were you expecting them to cast a mousy lil clerk??
I agree. I always pictured Drumknott as a dapper, fussy little man who was a consummate professional. He was far too sinister and knowing, Shame as I could see Steve Pemberton doing well with another Discworld character. Perhaps Carcer from Night Watch?
I have to agree. He's too 'untidy' for Drumknott. Drumknott is always in Vetinari's shadow, and should look the part; thin, intelligent, cool and interesting. This one looks -- oily, like he should have been working for Reacher Gilt.
i like pemberton as an actor, but i felt he was the only wrong casting choice. drumknott in the books is always rather mousy, serious, loyal yes, but not devious at all, and seems devoid of any sense of humour. pemberton´s drumknott seems to be in on the joke the whole time, his demeanour doesn´t spell "clerk" at all - he looks rather roguish, and this doesn´t sit right with my picture of drumknit... just my 2 euro-cents, of course.
i love steve pemberton.

AARGH!
That wasn't Drumknott-like at all!
He's too fat, too self-confident and too cruel. Just look at those eyes....
"And these are just the crimes we can prove"
I simply denied to accept him as Drumknott, he's just some nameless clerk to me -.-

i was expecting a skinny bloke for drumknott but Steve is just a brilliant character actor and manages to be funny and sinister all at once.
i hope Steve is vain and finds this cos i want him to know that the vampire heir lip in the league of gentlemen gave me nightmares for a week.
