It's tricky trying to explain the allure of MM and what makes her such an enduring legend. I always feel such a forlorn sadness that she died young and seemed so unhappy. She was like some lost child you wanted to protect. I always think if only someone could have helped her.

I don't understand how anyone could say she wasn't a natural beauty. She did have plastic surgery, but if you read or see anything about the surgery you'll know that it wasn't mega face-altering. She had the tip of her nose softened, and had her chin done so it wasn't so not prominent. Nothing changed much of ANYthing about her appearance. Look at the Norma Jeane photos before Johnny Hyde got her the surgery. There's not much of a difference.

She is a natural beauty. Her MM look is fake; but, wipe away all the make-up, etc, and she's attractive woman. She was charming, funny and a good comedienne as well as a 'sex symbol' - and that's why she's the star that she is. There hasn't been anyone like her since. Period.

I'm sorry but Elizabeth Taylor was a drama-queen diva. She killed Twentieth Century Fox with the movie 'Cleopatra' and cost them millions.
