i have italian quail and the arent a pied version of coturnix the are a subspecies dumb ass!

there is no such thing as an italian quail, its just a pied variety of coturnix

They eat chick crumbs until they are 6 weeks old, then poultry layers mash, or quail pellets if you can get them

What we call a quail in North America is actually not that closely related to the coturnix species. Our birds are more like small partridges, but they aren't related to the partridges either.
