Now I can understand the neg reaction to my comments. I am in fact a U2 fan, but only of their early work. I don't think they've put out anything good in a long time. I so agree, it's like you sense something bigger than life itself happening, you don't know what it is but you just feel it and this song is so poignant at a time when we are celebrating Martin Luther King Jr's day today and then the innaugration of Barack Obama and the massive movement of a people - it comes around once in a lifetime and I'm happy to be in the moment. As far as the studio version, they agreed It would be pretty outlandish to try to edit a 1984 recording of a legendary song, so they left it.
