i loved your first routine, naughty, really funny and very unexpected,it was the best, you do an exelent job dancing solo,i didnt like this routine but you still showed very good dancing skills and i know that playing trombone while dancing isn´t an easy task,YOU´RE THE MAN
Hey, playing that high is hard for anyone! I'm a trombone player of nine years, I know. I dig the way you're trying to bring popularity to the trombone (but face it, trombone is cool already!!)
Thanks for all the comments guys. To be honest I can do both. I had an off night. I was too nervous to get the words out but what i was trying to say was that I warmed up too much. I played too much that day trying to get ready, and I was depressed and nervous and I hated the routine, but I did the best I could to put on a good show despite my feelings at the time. No excuses. I messed up but hey some nights you can't win them all. You can read more about it at my website. Peace.

Intonation, for me, is the last thing to be worried about.
He cracked notes right in the beginning of his performance.
So, yeah, the notes are high but if you can't hit them consistently then don't do it.
And this is speaking from a technical point of view.
The routine was great. I just found that he was way more confident with his dancing than playing the horn and that the horn playing was just too commercial.
The pitch on brass instruments goes up when warm because the metal expands on both the outside AND inside of the instrument... which makes the inside of the instument smaller which makes the pitch go up... learn your shit before argueing
Taken from a poorly written report : When the instruments were heated to the temperature of 30°C, the stringed instrumns showed that their pitch went low. However, the woodwind and brass instruments showed that their pitch went highat high temperature. When the instruments were cooled to the temperature of 13°C, the instruments turned out to have a higher pitch, making the tune to be sharp.
I will tell you something, this man is brillant, and everybody knows it, this is a incredible performance. Jonathan is amazing! I really liked the show!
congratulations. i am a trombonist in manaus, amazonas-BR and i ever say that i can`t dance because musicians don`t know to dance. you`ve destroyed my args...
Not to be a troll but I play trombone and i was in a jazz band and he was missing a lot of higher notes... It was awesome but he's not as good as most of my jazz band was...
@trumpeter93 4 things, 1: that makes no sense. 2: it's the opposite of what all 4 band directors i've had have told me. 3: personal experience proves you wrong. 4: do a simple google search, no one agrees with you
@bpaintx2 First of all, cold air is more dense than warm air, therefore pitch drops. There's physics behind all that which includes the change in the speed of sound. Second, the first link i googled said so, and i didnt have to google it, I just did so to further validate my point, but the fact that you needed to shows how unconfident you are with your argument. Third, not only is it common sense, but all 7 instructors i had at julliard have told me this numerous amount of times.
@trumpeter93 the speed of sound changes with temperature. Precisely, the speed of sound in air is proportional to the square root of the temperature in kelvin. And the speed of sound in the air column is proportional to the frequency (pitch) according to the equation f = v / λ. In simpler terms, a rise in temperature raises the speed of sound which raises the pitch.
@trumpeter93 yeah i know all that, but the metal will also expand and contract with the change in temperature an that counteracts the small changes in pitch. heat would make it expand, therefore lowering the pitch and cold would do the opposite. i'm not some sixth grade idiot. i know what i'm talking about.
@trumpeter93 and as a side note, if you're right then that would mean that everyone in my area has been taught wrong and all the tuners are programmed wrong and perhaps even our instruments are made worng because NONE of it lines up with what you're saying.
@bpaintx2 You guys are funny. Actually when I messed up in this performance and Sharon called me out on it, I meant to say I warmed up too much, that I had played too much that day. I was so bummed out with how I played and Sharon calling me out on it that all I could get out was "it was a little warm". My mouth couldn't get the words out. Just to clarify why I said what I meant in the video.
@trumpeter93 sorry to say I can't trust someone that me I know is wrong :/ how about you stick to your ways and i'll stick to mine. You will never affect me and I will never affect you so there is no point in continuing a waste of both our time. Everyone I know disagrees with you but that's ok, nothing would ever be learned if everyone agreed.

If you can't play all the notes when you're dancing, you're just a clown. They helped him out a lot. Yes, he is entertaining but The Vader clip rocks!
shuffle while playing trombone
