Sikhs and hindus saw different identities only post 1984 after the Pakistan Backed Khalistan Movement. The Sikh religion was born for the revival of Hinduism which was gripped by non hindu traditions of caste system etc. Later the Khalsas were also formed only to ensure that the true dharma previals.and to safeguard our hindu brothers from the zalam mughals. Sikhs are very respected in INDIA for there contribution to armed forces, freedom struggle, economy and society in general. Sikhs and hindus saw different identities only post 1984 after the Pakistan Backed Khalistan Movement. The Sikh religion was born for the revival of Hinduism which was gripped by non hindu traditions of caste system etc. Later the Khalsas were also formed only to ensure that the true dharma previals.and to safeguard our hindu brothers from the zalam mughals. let me be frank with you, yes Sikhs and Hindus had some problem which could have been settled by talking. Sikhs are very respected in INDIA for there contribution to armed forces, freedom struggle, economy and society in general. Khalistan never had support of ppl of Punjab, it was Sikhs settled in western countries who wanted it and Porkistan wanted it. and i will also like to point out that the Khalistan movement was ended by Sikh police and army.

State of emergency was not for Punjab but was a alarm for Union of India.. We already fought wars with pakistan in 1947 in kashmir and in 1965.. and then 1971.. Ripping Bangladesh.. we knew that its on the pakistani interest to create khalistan.. and pakistan openly says that it supported to avenge 1971... So it was a need not only for punjab but also for the very existence of indian Union.. remember no indian union has right to choose secession... GOLDEN TEMPLE WAS A COLLATAREL DAMAGE...
