I love this movie. But I must admit, the sequence at the end of the movie (with this song) which shows them moving to a new chapter of their lives was strangely similar an ending sequence in The OC. Anyone else notice that? And that episode aired right before work began on this movie. Then again it could all be a really big coincidence.
Assistam a este filme! É realmente subversivo! Lindo! Tem nas videolocadoras! "Edukators".
this i call love, love in the film. what a pity that it is now so rare to see such a gentle but sincere feeling in the film compare to prevailing sex and lust.

"I love you/I love you too", wie in Hollywood.
just watched this movie in german class and ya it was pretty good! i love it when the older guy brings up "free love" and how he doesnt need to explain it to them. the look on that one dudes face was priceless
There are some great movies like this, but they dont are seeing by a lot of people because we are full with movie-shit, The Edukators a graet movie...
Great and honeyed..i can't forget the very fisrt day i saw this film..i stayed numb for minutes..or it was for hours?..just staring at nowhere.thinking of... ... ...
Thanks. I watched this film in cable, and I really loved it. The girl in this clip, she was in the downfall as a Cameo and in the Sophie Scholl, the last days, wasn't she? I like her!
Those watching this film who think it's about capitalism or revolution, don't understand it at all. It's about life and love, and realizing that as you grow older and wiser, you know that some things never change. That's all it is. The capitalism/revolution idea is just the backdrop for the film. The focus is on the people and characters themselves. You could have just as easily made it about communism and revolution. Same result: It's about the relationships of the characters.
I soooo much don't agree with that! There is a verry important message that the system has driven people mad! Some people CAN'T change any more .. and that's really sad!
also just to clear it up, i like this film. obviously people have made money from it, and daniel bruhl has certainly moved on, but are those who criticise it for not being 'truly anti-capitalist' really saying that as soon as an idea gets put to paper/celluloid/print that it can't be effective? whats the point in making films like these if they never make it out of the basement?
The bureaucrats, naturally. It's always the bureaucrats. It's downtrodden bureaucrat trying to take over on the successful bureaucracy and using the dumb masses as cannon fodder. It doesn't matter if they become the Party officials or the bourgeois, it's always the bureaucrats. The director knows damn well he is getting paid a hundred times more than a director who makes a movie that sells a hundred times less. And yet his characters pretend to not understand how income inequality can exist.
So what I say is, let's stop the hypocrisy. A movie that is clearly sanctioned by the system, to advocate stirring the system? Nobody (but the dumb masses) really wants to destroy the system. They just want to rebuild them with them at the top. Or (in the case of this movie) simply profit by feeding the dreams of those who would like to do so.
Indeed...I agree. Although I think it is more than the bureaucrats, I think to can say its our culture. They make a lot of great points, but why never go further than stirring the pot? Why not plan how to break the pot...
"why never go further than stirring the pot? Why not plan how to break the pot."
Because the pot has been broken already. It was called East Germany. Apparently the movie makers weren't consulted when they decided to scrap the whole thing and unify with the evil West Germany.
but then, isn't any film a capitalistic scheme, as you put it? people make it, people act in it, people distribute it, even for a relatively low budget film like this, they all get paid. thats how films work. at least this film is vaguely interesting as a plus.

Let somebody tell the stupid bitch from the movie that yes, if she takes her dumb eyes off the autobahn she might destroy lives and properties, and she'll have to pay for it. Tell her that paying insurance is part of the cost to afford having a car. Tell her that she can either learn a business and work to afford all the gas, insurance and hotel rooms she's seeing using in the movie, or live with the money she can get being a "free spirit". All she is now is a fake character by a rich actress.
Let somebody tell the stupid guy from Brazil that no, if you are poor and the rest of your life must be destroyed because you 'll have to pay a rich man for hitting one of his expensive cars ISN'T social justice. Also tell him that in order to "learn a business" you'll have to pay and of course, "learn business" -> "afford all the gas..." is the most simplistic thing I've ever read.
Well, the guy from Brazil isn't stupid enough to drive an unregistered and uninsured car in high speed while failing to keep his eyes on the road. Actually, for the most part of his life he was sufficiently poor and attention deficit compromised for him NOT to have a car or even a license. He went around by bus and taxi. I'd recommend the same line of tough for both the movie character, and the ortographically impaired
"for both the movie character, and the ortographically impaired"
The "ortographically impaired" bit I wrote when half of my brain had already shutdown to sleep. I think I was trying to call you "cognitively impaired" and "geographically impaired" at the same time. "You dumb Greek person" for short. I hope you don't mind.
This was a wonderful movie. And this was the perfect song to go with it.
