muay boran is a generic term for all the old fighting styles of muay thai. Muay chaiya is also one of the boran styles. Boran just means old/ancient.

Boran is an older style

Muay Chaiya is one style from south

Muay Korat is one style from northeast

Muay Lopburi is one style from central

thai date back since nanchao 300b.c yea they didnt live in south east asia until 1300th century. but that doesnt mean they never had a martial arts man. sanda which is close to muaythai originated in southern china. and where did the thais live then in 300b.c? southern china thank you i rest my case.

muay chaiya isnt that old lol its actually only a about 150 years old. but it is one of the proper muay styles and not the sport type you see on T.V

other styles include muay korat, muay utaradit and i forgot the name of the other ones -_-' but because of the movie that has been released as well as tony jaa. muay chaiya is now very famous

although the age of the art in itself is said to be thousands of years old. no exact date recorded

any one who dont know what is this, this is the Origin name of Muay Thai. ancient fighting arts for more than 3000 years. Muay Thai also the king of all the martial arts, for its realistics and full contacts fighting style, trained in speed,hard as iron. Muay thai also train fighter to be able to take hard kicks and punches from opponent. as i say, Muay Thai is the King of Killing machine.

but the art did. its not actually called muay thai. this is one of the many muay boran (boran meaning ancient) muay chaiya is one of the newer forms of muay boran. muay thai as most people know it is the sport version. muay chaiya is the proper take you to an early grave version lol
