OIZO HAS NO GENRE .... IF YOU WANT TO CATEGORIZE HIM , ADD HIM TO THE ELITE LEGION OF THE NASA SCIENTIST GROUP . ONLY IN SPACE CAN YOU HEAR THESE SOUNDS
@teodorpeychev so what you are saying is that because the media categorizes the beatles & justin beiber as pop singers their music is the same ????
Quentin does Dance , pop , electro , techno , ambient , film music and shit... even the damn Films .
SO... since uv wasted 10 years of your life being a Dj you can waste another 10 years trying to put Mr.Oizo in a category . Must suck real bad that u spent 10 years learning and then be replaced by a "sync" button on Traktor .
Fist i would like to say, you can thank Mr. oizo for inventing the wobble bass (soul power of dubstep) in 1999 when he realeased flatbeat. From there dubstep was creeated based on the combination of drum and bass and breakbeat. Secondly, i would like to say that anyone with a good perseption of music can see the artistic side of any and all music (including dubstep) I agree that mr. oizo's style is complex, however, you would have to be a fool to like mr. oizo and dislike dubstep.
@thedrummer32991 No way did dubstep evolve like that, Lfo basses or 'wobble basses' as you call them have been around since the fucking leslie speaker was invented and is not unique to dubstep whatsoever, dubstep is the offspring of uk garage and 2 step from croydon nothing to do with drum and bass. Tit.
@Sugarboxproductions yeah, i know that now actually. hahai shouldnt have opened my mouth a year ago. since then ive done a little reasearch. although, i still have alot of respect for oizo. there isnt another artist i know of that sounds like him. and flatbeat and m-seq did have some cool wobble bass in them, even tho they werent dubstep.
I know im gonna cop a lot of shit for this, but In my opinion, alot of people who actually like this music only do it to appear 'different', quirky, or cool because it makes it seem like they have an eclectic music taste. Oizo pumps out a track a second and this is likely because much his music is not at all musical... im not going to say it has no thought behind it, and some of his tracks are very funky, but it is a REAL strain to try to make some of his tracks sound good, at least to my ears.
I love Analog worms attack. I love that oizo creates film. I love the french electro scene. But, i agree that Lambs Anger is hard work to listen to. I dont think people just listen to it because they want to be different, as oizo is pretty common place these days. Theres nuthin individual about listening to him. But, i agree that there doesn't seem to be a lot of thought behind this album and i also find is a strain to listen to. There ar far better french electro producers out there.
Soulwax is two guys, two brothers actually. Before they got famous as DJs they had a band and brought out a couple of albums in the late 90's, it was sort of electro tinged indy rock.
@spentfromnz actually soulwax is a band. 2manydjs are the 2 brothers from soulwax. Both band and 2many djs are famous in their own right but many due to the cross over of 2manydjs playing nite versions album which is nothing like the other soulwax stuff.
only narrow minded limited fucktards talk about music in terms of genres. Real artists cross those braindead borders made by people who always try to categorize like if everything could be sorted and thereby more understandable. This kind of music is to advanced to be put in to one of these music boxes people have made.

@SongOfTheLastCamel yes, then some fuck head comes in, trying to sound smart and acts like he knows half of what he's talking about, then forgets that 'to advanced' should actually be 'too advanced' Fuck off.

@Aluminiumimmunitaet I'm sure it's not really helpful when people don't even know what the genres actually sound like. That's why there are so many arguments on youtube about what a song is supposed to be categorized as. Gets more frustrating than helpful at times. :|
@ShinFahima better this than full chaos with no categorize. categorizing makes it much clearer/easier. and without categorize you all would even cry more. you wouldnt have any references finding song. Btw only newbies/kiddies or ppl who doesnt hear often music dont know the gernes..
@Aluminiumimmunitaet It is, but that's not the point that I was getting at. I believe that categorizing what genre things fit into is nice. But once you get into the billions (Drastically exaggerated number, I know.) of subgenres (Shoegaze. What the fuck~?) , it just gets ridiculous. And keep in mind that most people that aren't musicians fall into that category of `newbies/kiddies`. If the `newbies/kiddies` don't know what the fuck is up, then. . . It's pretty much all for nothing.
@ShinFahima Yeah youre right with the first one. But saying "If the `newbies/kiddies` don't know what the fuck is up, then. . . It's pretty much all for nothing." Is like saying: if the pupils dont know what the fuck is up, then.. school is pretty much all for nothing? I mean its not impossible to memorize the main categories. they can learn it :P i hope its understandable my english is not really god lol
all music is easily categorised as long as you use hybrid genres, only self righteous "narrow minded limited fucktards" that think they are so much better than the rest of the world get lost the air of pretenciousness they create and think they are and create more than they have!

as humans we naturally try and categorise things to better understand them, you're calling everyone a retard. which is already a derogatory term.
if you say to your friend ''ive got a really good track on my ipod'' they'll ask who it's by or what sort of music it is.
not, ''is it undefinable? oh great i like the sound of that''
you are being narrow minded by belittling everyone else on the planet.
this would be in the genre- electronic.
