  • interesting stuff.

  • Soundgarden- Rusty Cage- and there you have it. Why I love that band, perhaps as well as other music by Cornell and other bands. His songs sing to Migraine people. Listen to some of his songs. This guy seems perky. I can't do anything when I have a migraine, would lead to sickness, know what I mea? I am just coming off of a migraine, food related probably. 3.5 days and 4 100mg sumatriptan later. I can only take one every 24 hrs, so that's it. I took another this morning at 4AM.

  • hope you can control them completely soon :(

can relate with your story i've had migranes since i was 5 (when i started getting bullied)they start soon as soon as i wake, one sided cause hallucinations, at times seizures, almost like a stabbing/ burning pain as well as feeling like there is a ball inside my head

doc wont help though cuz he thinks its just womens hormones.....

  • I don't know if you even come on youtube anymore, but thank you!! I suffer with migraine headaches 6-10 times a month and they can last up to 4 days. Sometimes it feels like no one understands. You have inspired me to attempt a video on my own experiences.

  • hey the weird thing is try drinking a cup of coffee when you have a migraine. I do that, it both starts and treats a migraine.

  • its because A) caffine aids in asprine absorbsion

    b) it kick starts some areas of the brain

c)melts down a pain killer faster because of the heat of the coffee

d)starts the digestion system working better againn (it stops during a migraine)

nest time try it with tea or cola (preferably flat)

    it will still work :)

  • oh i see now thank you

  • wellcome:)

  • haha quick responses here

  • yesh so what are your migraines like?

  • they are terrible they are lower fart of my head my eyes hurt, sound is like 10 times as loud and the light is like a flashlight in my eyes. im dizzy and feel like im going to vomet

  • lower part of your head.... your balence do bad to? sound like it effects the cellebrum and the occipa lobes, sure you'll beablecontrol them some day :)

  • actually thats funny i do tend to trip a bit when i have a migraine thanks for the info are you a doctor?

  • wellcome:)

no im a mirgaine sufferer to...and a psychology student so know a bit bout the brain

  • In a way, im glad you did this. Most people dont really think theres a difference between migraine and just a headache.

  • good video! I enjoyed it very much! :)

  • i hate when everyone says "its just a headache stop being a baby" they really do hurt! im 13 yrs old and i suffer from severe migraines. It really hurts u almost want to shoot urself so u can get rid of the pain. reply to me if u know what i feel like

  • I know what you mean! Its sooo annoying, "Get over it" No, you cant just get over it.

  • Comment removed

  • I would rather stab myself, than induce a migraine.

  • I'm glad you're feeling better.

  • Sometimes, they're so bad, they actually wake me up.

  • As someone who suffers from cluster headaches on a daily basis... I can't understand why you'd want to "induce" any type of headache... I honestly find it to be ridiculous.

  • Thank you for the video, nobody understands unless they have to deal with it... I know this has opened some eyes!!

  • migraines are one of a spectrum of symptoms/effects that can occur due to adrenal insufficiency which is the product of nerve interference due to a subluxated c1 vertebra. this is correctable through specific vertebral realignment by a qualified professional (upper cervical chiropractor).

  • thanks for the vid. i didn't understand migraines before i watched this, so you opened my eyes, and i'll tell as many people as i can that migraines aren't regular headaches. i don't know why so many people including myself are so misinformed, i guess it's because of movies and shows where you see a person with a migraine and he or she just looks like they have a bad headache.

  • I'm glad it opened your eyes. This is only a mild one to say the very least, sometimes you can be stuck in bed in total darkness and silence for days. Luckily for me I've been mysteriously free of them for a while now.

  • So the weriod feelings that I have been haveing every once in a while and since I was like 7 are called migrains eh?

    But what causes them?

  • I have suffered with migraines for years and again no one seems to understand it is not a damm headache. Mine can last for a week and I sympathise with all sufferers

  • ive suffered with migraines for about 3 years now and i HATE when people say they are just a headache!

you can do nothing but lie there and suffer and hope it goes soon!

  • BTW, i like the video and especially the music TW, but that doesnt make up for the disinformation. Fact: migraines dont come from coffee, headaches come from coffee. migraines are much more complicated, and are still being studied.

my experience tells me that they come from the depths of hell. i hope you never get a real one, you will catch a glimps of hell-fire and go blind and may even hear Satan and his angels laughing.

  • gaaatdamnit! i have a migraine right now. i can hardly read the comments.

i wonder if we all take turns passing the same pain around and i am sorry to whoever gets it when i am finished.

i am very good with pain but there is NO taiming a migraine, the more you try the worse it gets. i am going to go put my head in a bucket so nobody has to clean up the mess when it explodes.

i ran out of imitrex 3 weeks ago but i am living in Brazil and cant buy more. ahhhhhhh!!!

  • Migraine sufferers must not only cope with their pain, but also with society's misunderstanding of the disorder

  • The only thing worse than a migraine is the one that rebounds.

  • lucky him, migraine lasting 2 hours?? I have just come out of a migrane fog, which started 3 days ago!!! My migraines are so debilitating that i couldnt even think about putting on a camera and telling folk about it!! I had to lie in bed in the dark with a cold compress on my head!My head is actually still sore even now!! Unfortunately for me i cant take ibuprofen or aspirin, so its migraleve and sumatriptan which doesnt really work!!!

  • Strange, if I feel a migraine coming on, ie when I am in the "prodrome" stage, I find if I have several very strong and sugary cups of coffee I can stave it off. Topamax has proved to be a life saver for me 25mg once a day, plus imigran if as an emergency abortive, and I seem to have the migraines under control. Btw, The sinusitis I find is alleviated by imigran/triptans.

  • thank you so much for posting this, I am a student physcial therapist trying to understand what its like to have a migraine. Ive had my share of headaches, but never a migraine. They are debilitating! Again, thanks!

  • I've suffered from migraines for 21 years. I remember my first headache at four years old, thinking I was going to die... it's sad because they have gotten worse into adulthood. I got fired from my favorite job ever because I missed too much time being hospitalized for migraines and I was not yet eligible for FMLA! I hate how they can last for days and that people who have never experienced one have absolutely NO empathy or understanding of how it feels to go through this personal hell.

  • Are you conscious on some level of the pain even when you're sleeping? I'd heard a few years ago that when the drowsiness comes on, if you can get even just a 10-15 minute nap, it may stop the attack. I had my first migraine in 1956 when I was 12, and several more in my teens, but they didn't follow me into adulthood. I have had headaches for the past 35-40 years on my right temple, not CH's, but just a nagging one that will start in the morning and go away between about 4 and 5.

  • I dont post usally but i suffer from migraines bad if i catch it early enough and take Sumatriptan b4 it gets bad they usally do the trick for me and keep the migraine at bay ....but if i leave it they is no self help video in the world that will shift it....Just a very dark room and lots of water for 3/5 days.....

  • Migraines are the worst thing that ever happened to me, first i get a small flashy patchin in my vison of both eyes, which grows till i cannot see at all, then i get a wopping headache that lasts for around 3/4 days, I get them every couple of weeks or so, the worst thing abou them is i dont no wat triggers myn and they tend to strike at the worst times. WE NEED A FUCKIN CURE! NOT RELIEF!!!!!!!!!

  • Man i feel your pain

  • thanks bro, We'll get rid of them somehow, someday.

  • weird I have one right now its like u can't move it's so bad how do i get rid of it!?

  • You have to try Sinus Buster Headache nasal spray.. IT WORKS

  • that's just coffee withdrawl symptoms. I get migraines every single friggin day.

Research about MSG if you have migraines, it's one of the causes. Chinese Takeaways usually have MSG in them to enhance the flavour.

  • that is not a migraine.

  • I agree with butterfly lady. Everything she said is how I feel when I get a migraine attack. This mornings attack landed me in hospital it was so severe.

A migraine is NOT a 'bad headache'. It's much MUCH worse.

  • I have suffered from bad mirgraines shortly after my graduation from high school back in 2004. When I got them my right eye would turn red as the blood vessels would burst. So I know pretty well how bad migraines are.

  • i agree, this wasn't migraine. it's far more worse... it's cinda like butterfly lady explained.

  • Please - THIS is not what most migraine suffers feel - I could only pray mine would be like this.

Show someone crying but trying not to as crying makes the pain worse - holding their head, banging on the bed, walls, etc. NO light - NONE - NO noise and NO talking - hell even my own breathing is like a chain saw to me - and feeling like you might vomit..... pleaseeeee - when you throw up so forceful you think your feet are coming out your mouth, that's a migraine !

  • very well put,i get tunnel vision then go blind in my left eye, I get extremely light and sound sensetive, as in the light coming from under the door is unbareable, and the sound of a clock ticking is like someone shooting a gun off next to my ear...and things like Strong smells, Loud noise, and bright flashing lights can set it off...and after the headache is gone the left side of my face is droopy and i feel like I was hit by a car...

  • Exactly, thats not a migraine. It just a caffeine headache.

  • I have just started migrains since April, headaches are a part of my everyday life, going through physical therapy, not doing to much for me but I sure am missing alot of work because of them... thank god for F.M.L.A.

  • thank you!

  • I have a migraine room in my house. No light, AC all year round, eyemasks, ect. I had them as a baby. My family says I would hold my head in my playpen. I'm 32. Migraines suck. And yes, I am capable of talking during an attack

  • The next day, I was in hosp and I had a migraine stroke. I am on medication everday now and I am a lot betta. However, if you are sufferin from severe migraines and you feel your doctor is patronisin you because you are young; express that feelin or find another doctor who will listen to you. Thanks.

  • When I was 18, I had a very severe migraine attack. I went to my gp 3 times and she still prescribed me the same medication even tho I told her it wasn't workin. The pain was so immense I couldn't sleep. Finally, I was taken to hosp only to be released a few hours later but I did get some other meds.

  • It's great that someone is communicatin how disabling migraines can be. A lot of my friends didn't understand about the severity of my migraines when I was younger. I kept goin to my doctor tellin them about my migraines however they assumed I was on drugs (my mother told me this). The attacks got worse and worse.

  • I HATE migraines, had em since I was five. I'm actually recovering from one I got yesterday. I'm on amitriptyline and propranylol, which are for depression and seizures, but are prescribed for migraines too. But the ironic downside is that they make me depressed, so I guess I'll keep searching for other options...

  • I had 3 in one week...it's just fucked up!They lasted for 2 days....:(But this video is pretty much show's how bad they are....Can't deal with light and sound...

  • you know i feel really sorry for all you people with migraines my sympathies go out to you all, i know how bad they, i get them, ive had three this week, i havent had one for so long, i dont get them as bad as what i have read below but i know how horrible they are

  • I throw up when I have migraines.

  • if this guy really had a migraine, he wouldn't be able to talk.

  • i get migraines and i talk. then you must have not had a migraine.

  • I got my migraines from my father. I get them worse then he did/does, I have the Aura, The sweeping numbness, I see things. I hear things. I throw up at the smell/thought/taste of ANY food or liquid. I get the 72 hour headaches. I get slurred speach, Then afterwards I dont feel like myself for about 3 or 4 hours. I can take the Auras. But trhe headaches are unbearable.

  • I'm only 19, mine are due to a wreck. I am numb in one side of my face. When I stand up I often lose my vision for a miniute and I feel them strongly in the bridge of my nose. I get nose bleeds a lot too, could this be related?

  • Some tips:

Don't use caffiene except for relief of a migraine in conjunction with tylenol or aspirin

exedrine is the best over the counter med (has caffiene)

    chew on ice chips

use ice directly on temples if you can tolerate it

if you can, work through it, sleep sometimes made me worse

don't get over tired; caffiene may help at these times

calcium tablets may help lessen pain

tea will not give you a migraine but once you have one, tea will intensify the pain

  • I have migraines alot, I alway's get em at night. Mine dont last long.. If you do have one, dont do physical activity, or anything that moves your head.

  • I had a migraine on Tuesday this week which lasted for about 12 hours and another 12 hours to recover from it. Anyone who says that a Migraine is just a bad headache should be made to suffer an attack for themselves. The medical experts need to do more study on the effects of this awful condition which destroys so many lives.

  • Powertronn, if your migraine aura's are lasting that long, your in danger of having a migraine stroke. Please talk to a neurologist that specializes in the treatment of migraines. I take a calcium channel blocker called Procardia to stop aura's. There is a GREAT Yahoo migraine support group anyone can join at...migraine@yahoogroups.

  • There is an excellent patient video at

the-headachecenter dot com that has been very helpful too.

  • My migraines involve blindness (visual aura), numb face and hands, forgetfulness and speech problems...along with the SEVERE pain. I have to go to the hospital and get an infusion of Depakon, Solumedrol, Zofran and Ativan. It takes about 4 hours. They really have destroyed many days of my life. My neurologist wants to give me botox injections (the new treatment) to help me with them. I'm a bit freaked out by that though!

  • Holy hell, I have MSG induced migraines and I would never EVER purposely put myself through that. It takes at least 24 hours to recover.

  • Wether they be weak or strong, I think we'd all agree that migraines really sux. Can I ask what medication you're moms taking cause nothing works for me.

  • I have to say that if this is a migraine, it's a VERY mild one compared to what I get. I could'nt sit in front of a webcam and give a speach with a migraine present. My symptoms are identical to stroke like symptoms, this one seems mild, you're lucky.

  • Yea my mum gets the ones like you describe they really knock her out for 4 or 5 days.

  • My Migraine symptoms: numbness on the left side of my body. flashing zigzag lines in my vision. vomiting. slurred and speach comming out backwards. pain in the head like someone is smashing me with a sledgehammer. last for up 2 9hrs and I get 2-3 of these per week

  • My mum gets those too shes had a whole array of medical testing to try and resolve it but nothing works. Im really lucky mine are so weak.

  • had one today!

  • You have a cute tummy. X

  • Are you sure it's not just a really bad headache? I don't really think you can induce migraines.

  • I hope you get one to see how "bad" a "headache" it can be!

  • *coughs* then you don't watch House md much.

  • I'm 15 and I, unfortunately, suffer from frequent migraines. They can last really long and are followed by nausea and photosensitivity. They also make me sensitive to sound. A lot of people don't realize the pain of a migraine and how it can cripple you. I have sometimes several a week. It's horrible. Thanks for the video. ^^

  • I meant to say I am ON Fentanyl Patches now, they do work better.

  • I've got a blood clot in my brain caused by infertility drugs and now I have massive migraines due to the cerebrospinal fluid buildup in my spinal column. Imitrex and Maxalt kinda work. I am not on fentanyl patches. They work only about 75% of the time. The light sensitivity, nausea, sound sensitivity, and smell sensitivity are the worse. Praying for you!

  • I have had migraine for 10 years now. I have been on maxalt and it does work. I think people dont understand the meaning of a migraine. I hate them!! Thanx for the video. Now people now whats its like to have a migraine!!

  • (cont.) Watch the other videos and you'll see why - there's no way someone in the middle of a CH could sit in front of a camera and calmy narrate what's happening. The pain has you in its clutches and there's nothing you can do but rock back and forth and whine like a baby. OTOH, migraines are worse in that they can last longer and are more easily triggered. I wish everyone relief from their ailments, and thanks again for this.

  • Thanks for this video. I was diagnosed with migraines a few years ago, but I've been reading now about cluster headaches and I think I actually have those. There are a few videos on YT of people suffering from CHs, and after watching them, and then this and another migraine video, I'm much more certain about it. The two seem quite different and it's amazing that someone could be misdiagnosed. (cont.)

  • ah, migraines sucks

  • migraines really SUCK, and I have a really hard time getting people who never have migraines to understand the hell I endure with these damn things

  • Good for you, to make a video DURING a migraine! You are absolutely right, people often just don't understand. And I LOVE your jammies... too cute! :)

  • Hey, I got some medicines for my migraine, whey DO help, but I just get tired and lazy of it.

If I got migraine, it's for 1 or 2 days.

    :S

I hate the stars and stuff, that you can't see a thing.

    Well, Bye :P

  • i'm sorry that you had to do that just to help people understand. i've been there, adn go there frequently enough to not want to induce one. so thank you for your bravery.

  • Thank you so much for your compliment I'm not that brave hehe :)

  • not a chance would i induce a migraine, i get really bad ones were im violently ill, had em for like 8 yrs...anyway great video, i also find tht a lot of ppl dismiss migraines as being just normal headaches which is sooooo not true!

    Tom.

  • I use relpax. I can't say I would intentionally set one of those nasty migraines off on purpose yuck :P

  • oh dear...was that a cry for help or what!

  • Only if you're offering free asprin lol! :)

  • Hi timewarlord-great stuff.its brave of you to do this-really show how bad migraine is....I have afreind who uses a pill called Maxalt-anyone else here with experiences on medication?

  • I can't remember the name of it but one time the Doctor prescribed a nasal spray for it, I got on a high and was a shade away from hilluscinating :)

  • Timewarlord you should try what geiroman is suggesting!

Maxalt perfectly works on my migraine!!

    Let me know

  • Everytime I have a migraine I feel like dying.

  • My god I feel so sorry for you here..I hate migraines ugh this makes me wince.

  • Aww you're sweet, thank you so much, very cool username by the way :)

  • it really can be debilitating. migraines are on the same scale as cramps for me. pain to the point of nausea. light/sound/smell sensitivity. fun times >_< great video :D

  • That's gotta hurt.

  • Like a bus to the face, but it was worth it in the end :)

  • I can't believe you induced a migraine for YouTube. That's dedication (or addiction) at it's finest! ;)

  • I'm not Addicted...wait..what? who's taking my youtube away ...I KILLS YOU!!! >:)

  • you should not do that to your body man

  • Yep thats true when I got up this morning I figured it was irresponsible, thanks for the comment mate!
