& i've watched all Kubrick films & if it was a Kubrick film it wouldn't go like that at all , performance in Kubrick film is some kinda KABUKI which u can view as slightly "mechanical" acting, " watch Nicholson in the shining again" except maybe or Sellers.
that way certainly fits with the cinematic language he blows in his films
The performance of F.M.Abraham is a part of the realistic acting school which is absolutely different.
@AmrVamp "realistic acting school which is absolutely different."
Well, it would be easy to pass the film under Kubrick's direction.
The hard thing would be to take Alex's mast passage's tension and inject it somehow in this one performance. Real outlandish, right? I don't fucking care anymore for otherwise.
Are you a girl? This would be cool. Watch that scene under a little lsd and cocaine and try to feel the ejaculation. I don't mind if you somehow blow your brains out. Figure it out.
Kubrick's master stroke, = w all his master strokes, was making real the ~kabuki of bullshit traditional Hollywood acting. YOU SUCK.
How could you compare Kubrick with kabuki when he provides deliverance to kabuki filled pieces of shit who fail to rise to Abraham's goodness?
If you ask me, Abraham should be standard. The HARD standard. What Kubrick has done with his actors is rise them above ideal. A master puppeteer. Enchanting them with perfection.
It feels to me his passion is a cold, calculated stroke of genius; genius on behalf of the matter at hand. Nothing warm in here, just raw power at paroxysmic heights.
Issue is that after you watch it a number, you see right through the acting technique. Perfect, compact and shining at first, but you want more intensity once you see through. A Kubrick push would have gotten it absolutely solid and compact, not fading away in a million views.
It MUST be said, the millions of exactly distanced holes in the act are the mark of Salieri's aspiring to Mozart's perfectness; which would have filled the holes, but instead it's Salieri at Mozart's grave.
A Kubrick tension would have kept the holes but the web would have carried the energy to infinite viewings.
THAT's why this is not genius. It failed where nobody can tell exactly what the difference is, even though feel it.
& what about all the praise he's got from every single movie critic on the face of the planet , you need not be a genius to realize how his performance embraces the character to its bedrock , & i dont know what in heaven's name are mumbling about that "raw power at paroxysmic heights " , is that supposed to be smart or something ? well , IT IS NOT , specially when u r talkin about one of the static facts in cinema like his performance.
raw power of timing and modulation. taken to paroxysm, that is when the fine intervals between which points do not undulate, but are skipped from the acting string connect in your sensorial capacities and thus all subjects and predicates extend and form a complex dance of kinetic resonance that underlie mind, biology, soul and the space aliens' special recipe for kentucky fried chicken.
Busted, AmrVamp. I'm smarter than you. But that don't mean we should keep meaning from each other.

Yes, there is. Watch it again. And love it.
