  • Inimitable King's Singers!!!

  • too bad this is not on the CD !

  • @tenor9216 it's not on the CD? NOOOOOOOOO :'(

  • I think they sung it pretty well but they had interely lost the onomatopoeic possibilities this piece offers. Actually they misunderstood some italian words, for example "poltron": the singer says "the man would'nt had be treaten as a grand chair", but "poltrone" is a popular word for "lazy", so in this moment of the song he says he won't be lazy if the lady accept to love him...

  • Jumpers almost as good as the singing.

  • I had the privilege to hear their rendering of this song 3 decades ago or so and at that time I was very impressed and that impression has never faded away. Given the meaning of the lyrics, which I took over time some pains to decipher, this is surely one of the best, if not simply THE best interpretation of this madrigal ever.

  • non le porta un rognone...dice: grasse come rognon.

e non la considera una poltrona! ma è lui a dire di se stesso che non sarà poltrone (cioè pigro).

  • How lovely if they could have performed without the narrator babbling over the top! Shut Up, Narrator!!!!

  • That's it! Eventually somebody dares to perform with the original words!

  • What I love is that they're arranged from highest to lowest voice... or from Tallest (highest voice) to shortest (lowest voice). Coincidence?

  • They're the best!

  • Tremendous! Nothing to say about the performance: I love K. S. and for this reason I thought to write now May I add a minor correction? Well, armchair (poltrona) has not much to do with a lazy man (poltrone); the lyric, hence, means more or less If you love me I wont be a lazybone, like a (battering) ram Ill bang against all night long! don don don

    Sincerely

  • And before his references as a lover(I butt like a ram) he says: I'm a good hunter, and I will carry you woodcocks as fat as kidneys :-)

  • We're doing this for one of our chorus songs!

  • how many voices are in the chorus? This song sounds great with just a handful of people.

  • Me da escalofríos, está genial :)

  • Splendidi King's Singers,esecutori e interpreti magnifici!

  • flawless....
