2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (King James Version) 13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (King James Version) 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
1 Peter 4:17-18 (King James Version) 17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Thing is, I'm concerned about how some Christians embrace exclusionary attitudes, walling themselves off from the rest of society.
If you truly have faith, then there should be nothing to be afraid of, Halloween and secularism shouldn't threaten you, because you are already saved, you don't have to worry. As Yeshua said: consider the lillies.
I think it's cool the way religious fanatics hate and fear Halloween. It makes it that much more fun when silly people take it seriously-- and since they are completely unable to put a stop to it, there's no harm done.
Where they charging tickets for kids to stand in a pvc pipe prison for 5 minutes? HAHAHA. Wouldn't the alternative to people not wanting to celebrate Halloween be... just not celebrating it? I know that there's the Easter Bunny at Easter, and Santa at Christmas, and in a way they are alternatives for people just celebrating it in the original way, but people that celebrate it that way usually don't despise it the way religious people do Halloween.... they just add something more "fun".
Anyone who believes in this sick and twisted version of Christianity has no credibility or character. Halloween on the other hand, with its masquerades and trick or treating, is a fun, benign pasttime.
wow this vid makes it sound like pagans are evil pagans dont celibrate halloween we celibrate samhain which hapens to be on the same day as the christian created holiday of halloween....
WOW. This is awful. Scaring people into a relationship with Christ? Awful awful. Not to mention the conceptual presentation being unbiblical. helltruth(.)com. Love and fear are polar opposites. Not a single soul will ever be saved because they were scared to Christ. A saving faith is not a "choice," its a relationship. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." 1 Jhn 4:18
We are to be a light among the crowd of the world, we should not be copy cats of the world, we are to influence the world not the other way around... whats next christian american idol, psh please... hmm so yeah thats my opinion
Use the brain the good Lord gave you people. Halloween, regardless of it's origin, is now simply a day for people to dress up and have a little fun. It's fun being scared. I am a Christian and you ought to see my house on Halloween.
Last year I even erected a corpse on a cross in my front yard. Don't be such pussies and use a little common sense.
mbm13213 Just curious you say your a Christian, but I am curious if christian why the foul mouthed name calling. If Christian then you know the words speaks about the first things to change for a follower of Christ is there mouths. A good tree cannot bear rotten fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. What fruit do you bring?
Halloween is based on the Celtic celebration of Samhain and was integrated into the Christian religious practice of All Saints Day to win over the Pagans. Let's not forget the origins of the Christians and understand that they are not the only ones who "celebrate" religion rites. Are we to assume that all Gaels are evil? Are the Irish, Scotts and Welsh evil or anti-Christian because of the origin of Halloween? The Christians are too righteous, foolish and forget their origins. Arrogance!
One day, those very words will come back to haunt you and ruin your life. This is not a joke. Repent, for the kingdom of God Almighty, the merciful and loving creator, is at hand.
digitalflava-You're right, the Bible does say that. But is going trick or treating or bobbing for apples evil? I don't think so. Although, I would avoid dressing as a demon or something. Of course, divination and playing with Ouijja boards is out of the question. Taking glee out of watching gratuitous gore in a movie is also wrong. I think that those things are what the Bible is referring to in terms of how a Christian should behave.
Sorry, but you are wrong. The scriptures tells us as believers to stay away from ALL appearances of evil. Also, when you see darl and evil images that represent Halloween, you do not think of Christ Jesus because those things are not designed for that reason. Its a Satanic Holiday period. You are leaning on your own understanding which the Bible forbids. Your exact words were, "I don't think so." The Bible says that we must live by every word of God. According to your words above, you are not.
Palin is then your wet dream? Is she the embodiment of the pure & righteous? She dresses up in red, pushes her political ideologies in Church and goes about killing with impunity. Yet she touts anti-abortion and has no issues killing the mainstay of the Native Alaskan Indians' industry of fishing, goes about destroying native lands for gas and oil says it is all God's will. Are we to return to the Dark Ages and live through the Inquisition once again where Christian religion kills?
Thats nonsense. What you are saying has nothing to do with what I said at all. Totally off topic. Sarah Palin is not Christ Jesus and just because a person calls themself a Christian or speaks like one does not make it so. I can put on a police uniform and point a gun and yell "freeze", but that does not make me one. Jesus is the example. Syop looking at what people do and look to Christ Jesus. HE is the example.
Here's an example. 4 men R in a room. 1 man explains a plan 2 kill this rich man 4 quick cashflow. 2 of the remaining 3 agree 2 the plan. The last man, says no & leaves. The 3 men execute the plan, the man who came up with the plan kills the rich man, 1 grabs the last 1 drives.
Ok now, who is guilty of the crime? In this story, Satan is the man with the plan & the plan is Halloween, U and others like U R the remining 2 men, & Jesus is the one who left. U should had followed the 1 who left.
Cool play. HOWEVER, it's not okay to scare kids into believing in God. It is important to know the alternative (Hell), but it shouldn't be the drive to accepting Christ.
How can you be Christian and "like" (as you put it) or celebrate Halloween? The Word of God says in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 that we should "Abstain from ALL appearances of evil." Also, it says in James 4:4 that doing such things as celebrating Halloween will make you an enemy of God because it makes you a friend of the world. I would not want to risk loosing my soul simply because Halloween or any other holiday is "FUN". Satan will indeed use that against you.
I personally would rather be a silly or dumb Christian than a serious or wise atheist anyday. If you allow the Holy Spirit to help you study the scriptures, you will see exactly what I mean. The bible says that the things of God are foolish to the natural man because they are spiritually discerned. An unsaved man will never in 1 Million years be able to understand God without the Holy Spirit. God's thoughts and ways are not like ours. Therefore, it takes Him to explain His ways to us.
Sorry, Christmas celebration. December 25 was chosen to celebrate Jesus' birthday because that is when the druids/pagans celebrated the birth of the Sun Child, or the god that is now included in contemporary Wiccan believes. Rather than getting rid of celebrations that people were used to, they supplanted them with new meanings to celebrate significant events for the Christian faith. But, Christimas does not involve increased divination activities and focus on death, vs. Halloween, which does.
I don't believe in divination as for the focus on death it could be a good thing if it reminds us one day we will die and not let this life pass us by. the holiday is what one makes of it.
