Just got one having problems with no feeds, and no ejects...I believe it could be a ammo issue what are you firing to get the best results...have shot.Federal bulk Auto Match which was awful and Remington Golden Bullets which were much better but still had a few issues..
Respond to this video... Yes I have had this rifle for over a year. It is very reliable. However after a friend of mine purchased the same one, it was "key holing" the targets. The bullet holes were strange. It looked like the bullet was tubmling in flight. I am not sure if he is still having the same problem. Mine still works fine. If you are planning to put a scope on it I would get something else. The base for the scope sucks and my scopes keep walking backward when I shoot.
@Frodothelionking i as well have this rifle, i have almost 6,000 rounds through mine. i clean mine about every 100 to 300 rounds only because i like to keep all of my guns clean! i love this gun! shoots just about every time. only jams probably 2 to 3 times out of 500 shots very recomended!!!!
My last shot bolt hold open doesn't work. But my manual bolt hold open does (it will lock open on an empty mag if I pull it back myself, but it won't do it automatically after a mag is emptied). Any ideas? Anyone else experience this problem?
@bjpw1234 Get a new mag, they're cheap anyway. if that doesn't work, make sure to take the gun apart and clean it and oil it, just a little. You can also take the mag apart by removing the baseplate to clean it up and stretch the internal spring. If you have never taken a mag apart be careful, that spring can shoot out pretty fast if you lose it. That should fix the problem. I had a similar problem around the 2500rnd mark.
@jimythetulip Well I have 3 mags already, so I don't think the mags are the problem. The bolt will lock back manually on an empty mag, just not after finishing a mag of live rounds. I'm puzzled over this. I'm currently looking on forums and other sources to diagnose the problem, and if nothing works, I'll call Marlin.
@bjpw1234 - Take it apart, put it back together again. Then use a new mag and see what happens. I had the exact same problem and this worked. now even my old mags work most of the time. I have the problem 1 out of 10 mags. Just keep using it, take it apart, clean it and then go again. It will work itself out.
@bjpw1234 The Shooters Ridge mags are garbage. Nutnfancy used 3 of them and had many misfeeds, jams, stove piped rounds, total mag deconstruction, and just overall failure. Check the vid out on his channel and decide for yourself if you want to gamble with a product like that or not, but I would be cautious.
@TacticalRodeo they are junk but if you modify the feed lips and put tape on it they work fine... but thats lame havingt to do that just to make it work.
@iCwalzy - "You'll shoot your eye out, kid." - Sorry I couldnt help the Christmas Story reference when he asks for the pellet gun from Santa. But in all honestly its a good choice, and its cheap enough for someone to get it as a gift.
@Grubbernaut I didn't mean to sound like I was bashing the 10/22, its a great rifle. I just don't like the idea of a barrel band. The higher end Ruger's don't have them. I just think that if you are going to pay over $300 CAD for a 22 rifle, there are a lot of other options that are chaper which don't have a barrel band. But like I said, I had to give up on things like after market stocks and high capacity magazines by purchasing the Marlin. It was a choice for me since I didn't care anyway.
@jimythetulip Ah. I just didn't get why you didn't want a barrel band. But yeah, I'm probably getting a 795, myself. Cheaperthandirt has inexpensive mags, too.

the barrel on this rifle is wayyyyyy thicker than the 10/22, and it doesnt taper down
Resolveo4 1 year ago
Wow, sounds like 10/22s are a ripoff in Canada. This gun is around $125 US, a basic 10/22 is $200ish new.
May I ask why you dislike the barrel band?
