Into Cold Darkness got me into Vital Remains' era of greatness and will always be one of my favorite albums. I can't say Let Us Pray isn't one of my favorites either, Into Cold Darkness just brings a little more variety to me.

There's a shitload of bands that are not black-metal , nor considered even metal, who still wear corpse-paint, bands like Mercyful Fate (from whom Vital Remains got the idea from), King Diamond, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Misfits and etc.

Yet for some reason a small number of elitist "old-skool" fans claim that only old school death metal is proper death metal, or that all modern death metal, brutal and technical especially, sucks, which is absurd and stupid. Nile, Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Decapitated, Skinless, and the like are all good bands.(and I know Suffocation is old anyway).
