Well can tell you the lead singer Shane Hewitt is alive and well living in St Kilda Melbourne. He's one of my oldest friends, gave me my first job in entertainment biz in the early 80s. He's also one of the true gentlemen of this world.
And yes this is a great track.
You can find Shane on Facebook if you'd like to share your compliments.
I can tell you that the keyboard player is Warrick Wilkes who sadly died aged 29 about 6 or 7 years after this clip was made. He was my boyfriend for about a year in the early 70's. The lead singer is Shane (having trouble remembering surnames) who went on to do some musicals I believe, lead guitarist is Kim, Ian is the bass player and Ray is the drummer. We all lived together in a big old mansion in Kew. No idea what happened to them, lost track when Warrick and I split. Thanks for the clip!
@Ardellan11 hey there...twas great to see your info...my name is Kathleen. I came across 2 of the members of Lotus @ Myponga Festival in 1971, unaware of who they were @ the time...following week met up by acccident at Headquarters Discco (above central markets) they were support band for Daddy Cool that eve.. from then on Kimberly Walton Dawson and had a relationship...we have a son Jason 39years young...band drifted apart due to personal reasons x
What really annoys me is ......Where do all these good musicians go when they dont "Make IT". The lead guitarist in this group is DAMN Good!! and at the time, could probably give Page, Clapton etc a run for their money. And the Drummer is DAMN good, cuts an excellent grove. Where do these guys go after there minor stardom. They are probably in their 60s now but did they continue on with music etc etc.......I always wonder???
@kramrollin69 I'm waiting for them to come forward. This is part of the reason why I put these channels together... to shed light on the old bands that have disappeared in the passage of time. At least we got the film footage of these guys. Many groups of the same ilk, but from other countries, didn't have the luxury of television exposure.
@nzoz1971 That would be cool. Could be a TV show in this...where did our bands go,? what did they do in the Day etc??. I googled the lead singer and found his picture somewhere (I forgot now). So he is "somebody". Company director or something I think. Your doing a good job N-ZoZ. You got that "Died Pretty" Suicide Cinderella (from Memory) from the 80? has been on Rage. That was another interesting Oz group..Radiobirdman etc....Keep it up.
