  • lol PE is out? That is like the ONLY thing that matters when you are 8-14. If you knew ANYTHING about eh, anything, you would know that good health etc helps with concentration and a wide array of other things important for learning. And lol Ayn Rand? My god, you wish to indoctrinate the children with fairytales. And lets not even get into your science without actually teaching sciencce. You suck, plain and simple, die of aids.

  • Cropper if you havn't ever completed college you'll NEVER be a teacher. Damn it your just like Chris Chan , but at least he completed college.

  • Hey cool!!

are you familiar with todays atelier movement. Like florence academy of art and grand central academy of art. Those are almost the same format of school as the 19th ceuntury artist were trained in. I mean the realist ones. Like Sargent, Bouguereau, J-L Gerome, Ingres etc.

Not the same type of school that you are planning to do, but really far away from the modern idea of a school.

  • i'm watching these vids in sequence...I sympathise with your annoyance at the state of education in American schools. I recently started an English degree, and have been so depressed with the infection of Cultural Marxism at the college, and the leftwing matriarch who runs the course, that I've considered doing computer science instead. Good luck with your plans, if they haven't alread worked out.

  • I feel that the students would've listened a lot better in your class if you obtained a personality.

You came upon an obstacle and you couldn't handle it.

A noble teacher would've stayed in, taught the basics instead of lazily writing them off for the lack thereof.

  • grow your hair and smoke some weed

  • I know how you feel man. In my world history class when we learned about greece and rome, the kids just acted like "this is stupid" while I was amazed on what happend back then. I guess its only a few people in a bunch that appreciate history's significance in today's mondern time.

  • I am doing a similar project in Missouri.

  • "disillusioned"...a euphemism for failing out

  • Perhaps. On the other hand, perhaps I was one of the best students in any given course I took. Perhaps I occasionaly got better grades than I deserved because the professors couldn't justify to themselves giving me a lower score, even if I deserved a lower score. Or maybe I'm just a stupid lazy failure.

Judge for yourself. As Ayn Rand said, judge, and be prepared to be judged.

  • I'm sure you could do a great job, I'm just completely unaware of what the process would actually look like.

I guess I'm just wary that some bureaucracy would throw up barrier after barrier or something like that.

  • ... after barrier, after barrier....

  • how do you just...open an academy? how is this done?

  • After you've spent about twelve years studying history, philosophy and the problems and nature of education, then opening your own small school seems like the next logical step. It isn't exactly the most capital-intensive project in the world; with a handful of old books I could teach kids better than the schools today...

  • are you trying to create plato's cave in real life or something? consider this: the very system that you are rebelling against was the same system that created you! So if these kids, are removed from that system, how in the hell are they ever going to 'relate' to what you feel, ow what any of it really mean?...like i said, staring at shadows on the wall

  • Aristotle, not Plato, is my inspiration. Did you miss that? How am I creating Plato's cave?...!

  • the reality you are going to teach your students is as 'fictitious' as the reality precieved people staring at shadows on the wall (plato's cave!)

    on a side note-

chalk this one up in the "wins" category of postmodernity...real life evidence of a simulacrum

  • good luck

  • Greetings to a fellow objectivist. And congratulations on the Academy... goodness knows that Utah desperately needs some sense injected into it.

  • Thats perfect intertwinign all the desciplines together to get a complete understanding.

  • hmmm kudos. I like where you are going with this. Good luck with your academy
