  • This is a excellent Tutorial, Maglot is one of the other Artists to help me tremendously. A concise and made easy to follow lessons.

  • Did i miss something or you zoomed in @ 0:03 to paint the nose, and the eye wasnt painted, then you zoomed out @ 5:16 and you already got the eye colored?! Well, its a great tutorial and at this point i can figure out how to color the eye anyway.. its was just weird.

  • @rice41 I guess I just forgot it during editing. Sorry!

  • Arr, the part with the eye was cut off.. it is suddenly shiny and shaded.

  • umm..when you coloured the nose why didn't the colour interfered with the layer blue and white?

also in pt.5 you were shading the layer brown and didnt coloured the layer blue and white why?

the brown layer was on top of layer blue and white so it should of coloured on top of them so why it didn't?

  • @overlordprincess You have to click "Lock Transparency" on each layer after you lay down the base colors. If you go back and watch video #4 I made an edit to show where the button is. I had forgot to record that part so that's my fault.

  • @maglot no no it's not ur fault.

but thank you for your wonderful tutorials it really helped with photoshop!!

    thank you soo much.

and your drawing and colouring are wonderful.

  • Good drawing. :)

  • What is the process you use to get the outline (black lines) into photoshop?

  • @aggieue Drawn on paper, inked over and then scanned with a flatbed scanner.

  • BESTTT tutorial I seen, didn't half ass it one bit. Good job man I got a lot from these videos.

  • Aaahh...so that how you make shades =3

  • These shadings are very smooth. What if I wanna do a mixture of smooth and hard shadings? What kind of brushes do I use there? Or how do I smudge colors together?

    Here's a picture I've drawn

ug6.kw.cx/ug/0406/6012/124399371_full,r,470x470 DOT jpg (I can't put the real link into here)

I hope you see the shadings and I just want to know how you can do this in photoshop.

  • @Sumpfdotterschnalle When I do hard-edge shading, I just increase the flow from 10% to 60% and keep the soft airbrush style. Start with a really dark color to make the initial hard-edge shadow, then decrease your flow back to 10% and use a lighter color (or the base color) to lightly brush over it and blend it in.

  • @maglot Wow that sounds very complicated! I hope I will get it :( I'm from Germany so I got a German Photoshop and that makes it more complicated >__<

Now I have a big Wacom tablet - the Intuos4 one. Before that one I got a little Wacom tablet - half of the size. It had a program involved. A very old version of the Corel Painter. But with my new tablet that program doesn't work :( It was so great - you had a function where you were able to smudge colors together! I want this in Photoshop too :(
