It's quite simple: natural selection can only select from that which is already present. When new genes are created or destroyed (through mutation, for example), it often kills or severely cripples the carrier. If not, the carrier is still of its mother species. No new species is created, and the allele frequency does not change for that species.

Atheism IS NOT a religion. A religion is characterized by a certain set of beliefs. The word Atheism means someone who does NOT believe in God. It doesnt tell you what someone DOES believe.

@billymatronics the dna is the same...the only thing that changes is the frequency of the characteristic...genetic drift only causes one version to become more frequent...if i bred someone that looked exactly like you and did so until the whole world looked like you we would still be human would we not...you can't get 3 from adding 1 plus 1

1) as the video even admits, the buttons do not reproduce

2) it states that the supplier is only factor that can provide more range of buttons... but in a species it IS the buttons that provide the slightly varied new set of buttons, not the suppler

3) in germs, it is this same minor variation of e.g. 1% of population of germ that can survive a new drug pressure because some may be resistant. The germs that survives becomes 100% of the population...

No it isn't. There's no church of atheism. All it means is they don't believe in God. There are atheistic religions, though, like Taoism and Jainism. You're being intellectually dishonest by trying to label atheism as a religion on it's own. It has nothing to do with science. I hate to tell you, but the Vatican has accepted evolution, even. Atheism is a disbelief in a god - is the same thing as the belief that there is no god.

It certainly is not a religion in terms of the definition of a religion, since a religion cannot be a personal belief, but it is still a "belief" no matter how you coin it.
