One of my fave things about Carlin was how he so matter-of-factly and apathetically described society's Big Problems (religion, war, the Ownership Society) in one piece, and then in his next piece, he'd completely lose his shit over the most trivial things, like "Todd", personal water bottles, hyphenated names. Putting those bits side-by-side ring so true about how we collectively set our priorities.
