6 turns, this is logging my timber, my skidder, me falling with a saw and the wife running a cable skidder, 5 to 6 cords an hour. If you can make 6 turns in 15 minutes, there will be a lot of loggers giving you a call to hire you. My brother was driving my fathers skidder and he was over loaded, the skidder reared up when it came down it busted the crankshaft off the flywheel, it was a very costly down time. A good operator feels the limits of the machine, with in reason.
@ticker511 try logging 5-6 log truck loads of logs in an hour but we do professional logging up in northern california. And were running grapple skidders pumping out 30-40 loads of logs a day. We get 7ft+ plus logs across the butt I've done a lot of wheelie's into the landing pulling in big skids.
It's real easy to make these negative comments when you don't know what the cable is hooked to. Maybe it's too dangerous to do it any other way. Hung up tree, hanging off a cliff, whatever...A wheelie is not going to hurt a skidder.

My boss had me try to pull a giant maple. It was a huge tree in a bad spot to cut. I grabed it with the grapple and "drove" ahead about 3 feet only to wind up in a wheelie like that to. I parked the machine with the tires in the air. I opened the door (still seatbelted in mind you) and asked my boss "Now what?" That tree took us a while to deal with. We laughed later in the day though.
I would fire this guy. Running a skidder up on two wheels like that is what starts breaking axle shafts. I've seen the machines that guys like this run. They all look like there 10 years old after 6 months of use.

And Please Dont SNAP THE CABLE!

This is what he should have done: Pull the main line out quite aways, straighten up the rear end so the main line comes in straight, put the emergency brake on, and give er shit until the drag comes in.
