  • Have just looked up Janet Munro on IMDB - How tragic to find out that she died way back in 1972 - such a promising career was cut so short :(

  • I hadn't seen this movie since I was a child but after seeing this clip - I hunted it down - what a great movie - and how beautiful was Janet Munro - Thanks so much for putting this on.

  • One of my favorites for St. Patrick's Day!

  • proud to be irish

  • want to watch the movie its my faav movie but cant find it anywere

  • This movie is a gem. Great special effects too.

  • The best line? "You needn't be worrin' about Katie, she'll present ya with a grand wake, then forget all about ya!" LOL!

  • how romantic for an irish gal like myself.

  • "I'm James Bond, Indian Jones' father and can also sing well, your argument is invalid"

  • Who would have thought 007 in a Disney movie.

  • So proud to be born and bred in my beloved Éire.

Our heritage and culture are so rich, no wonder so many Americans cling to their irish descent.

  • @kioko3737 Including our President Barack Obama who has Irish on his Mother's side. He is visiting Ireland today! It is a wonderful country with a charming people and culture.

  • Remember to watch were you throw your wash water out, when the little people are about at night.

  • @1952kid and you don't want to get on the wrong side of the little people.

  • This is the best Irish song ever!!

  • @riv4life618 It is a charmer!

  • That's sean connery? no bloody way. So different

  • ive seen this movie before we recorded it and ive watched it more than 5 times

  • that bitch gonna be painted gold before the day is out..

  • i loved this song and the film when I saw it by chance with my dad. Its so sweet and catchy. ^-^

  • They really did dub over Sean Connery's voice when he sang, but I don't see why they bothered, because it sounds almost EXACTLY like his real singing voice.

  • lol..I remember watching this at the Drive-In. My folks never passed up an opportunity to give me incentive to do chores around the house or behave myself. Ill never forget asking them if there really were a such thing as these little people..My father being a proper gent of Sctoch Irish blood..."oooh of course... you havent seen them yet in the back yard while cutting the grass?" Thats was good for about 10 years worth of me itching to cut the grass whenever possible...

  • @tonysshadow What a clever man! Ah, drive-in theaters. Another great memory of a great time to be a kid! When things were simpler and simple things could be so exciting!

  • @tonysshadow

Yea I watched a few days ago on DVD

  • we just finished watching this as part of our st. pattys day tradition. love it.

  • @eddieharr We do the same, and also watch The Quiet Man.

  • I love this movie! I used to watch it every St. Patrick's Day growing up. My family would have corned beef and cabbage for dinner, then sit and watch some good ol' Darby O'Gill.

  • @vapofleur That is what we do on St. Paddy's day. We watch this movie and The Quiet Man and have corned beef and cabbage and of couse some Guinness as well.

  • @LoreneFaith

I just did that today but we added The Bellas of Saint Marys and Top O the Morning.

4 movies that are a Must at Christmas, Saint Pattys and any day you need apick me up and a smile

  • Such a classic. A shame it doesnt run as much anymore. Beautiful lyrics, beautifully sung... But enough about Connery, Janet Munro is gorgeous...

  • I agree! She is adorable!

  • I love this film...it always cheers me up!

  • It is a happy movie!

  • man I use to watch this movie every night before bed when I was little lol i'll have to find it lol

  • Schean Connery Schingschs

  • I love this movie my whole family loves it. its Sean first Movie in Hollywood ... love the music it still brings me memories.

  • It is such a happy music :)

  • Is it just me, or does this song sound like "My Drunken Irish Dad" from Family Guy?

  • @LegendaryFroggy It's probably a parody of this.

  • 1959! the year my grandparents got married! so their time was more beautiful than this of ours..

  • I agree. I don't know why but it seems that there was a simplicity and magic that was everywhere until the middle 60's. It is reflected in the music and movies.

  • i remember seeing this on his Lifetime achievement awards. but i think he was a bit older that time, his voice even better. but this is the scene i remember a girl hearing him! do you got any other Sir Conerry clips of him singing?

  • No I don't have more of Sean singing but I wish that I did. If I do run across more, I will be sure to post them :)

  • thanks! and i wish more old movies with such fascinating themes like this.

  • I love this movie AND this song! 5*****! Thanks for posting it.

  • You know, thanks to this video, I just realized that "Pretty Irish Girl" OPENS as well as CLOSES the movie. Pretty cool! I never noticed that before.

  • It is adorable, like most of the older Disney movies are :)

  • Hear hear! Couldn't agree more! In today's Disney "family" films, all the kids R spoiled brats ever whining about 2 much homewrk, not having latest & greatest celphone, fun w/friends, vidames, cherleadr footbal soccer practice above all else. They're rude, crude & ignorant. Mouth off to their parents, whine, roll their eyes, storm off in a huff when not get their way. That's how Disney (&others) want to depict families & our society today? As dysfunctionl sociopaths that can't stand one another?

  • [2] And the parents in these "family" films R no beauties either! They're vain & arrogant & never there for their kids, putting their job above all else. Their kids R a chore, a bother, an imposition to their pursuit of happiness & money, of course. Money & profit is the focal point of their existence, not their children or spouses or their elderly parents, that often live in another state & R here just visiting. God, has USA society broken down THIS badly in real life as depicted in the movies?

  • WOW, I havent seen this movie in nearly 18 yrs, never knew it to be Mr. Connery... You mean to tell me he was young once!!!??? lol jk, he's hot old or young

  • who doesn't love sean connery!

  • You mean Darby? He is classic.

  • The great sir sean connery!!!!

  • He is wonderful. When he was younger and even now when he is older. One of the most handsome older men ever and such a great actor.
