No, you do not wear anything under the Malo. It's one piece of material, continuously wrapped around so its not possible to wear underwear.

Thanks for responding. I did learn later that they didn't wear anything under their Malo, But I did notice that some dance groups did wear something. Sounds rather exciting to think they are so brave, besides doing such a wonderful job of dancing. I hope they keep on dancing. Would love a new video of these guys.

They are wearing traditional attire, called a malo. This is a long piece of material that is tied and twisted to cover their ma`i (private parts).

it's the merrie monarch festival... it's held in Hilo, HI every year.. i believe this year is it will be on April 24/25 :))

wow, this is the same kahiko that the boys at my university performed for our school's lu'au. they wore the same thing and everything. they only did half of what this halau did, and they weren't as sharp or on time as these guys, so it was really nice to see this halau perform this kahiko. good job, boys!
