  • Ignacio you are the number one!

  • jesus, intonation in trumpets is shocking. lovely trombone sound though

  • fantastic music

  • This is one of my favourite parts of whole symphony! The theme is crashing and violent.

Mahler's brass sections are great, Wagner would be pleased of hear this, he continued with the orchestral fully and totally style of his production.

Long live Mahler's music.I can't udnerstand how he was not a suceeded composer.

  • This is the Berliner Staatskapelle.

trumpets: Christian Batzdorf (principal), Felix Wilde (2nd)

    trombone: Joachim Elser (principal)

  • Tnank you very much for your information.

  • Here is the section on that day:

Trumpets: Christian Batzdorf, Felix Wilde, Peter Schubert and Dietrich Schmuhl. Trombones: Joachim Elser, Ralf Zank, Kvirin Willard (extra player), Jochen Weise. Tuba Thomas Keller (his instrument at least), Horn Ignacio Garcia and Thomas Jordans, the 2nd row horns is a bit difficult to tell, but i will say Axel Güner, Frank Demmler, Christian Wagner and Frank Mende

  • Berliner Staatskapelle Ignacio garcia is on the first horn

  • Nope, it's the staatskapelle dresden, I have this video. Not to bragg, but I saw boulez do mahler's 6th with the berlin staatskapelle last month in berlin. terrific! weak trumpets though...

  • what is the staatskapelle dresden? this video aint it. its the berlin one :)

  • Thank you. It´s the Staatskapelle Berlin. I would like know the names of the trombone, trumpet and tuba players.

  • Looks like Boulez to me.

Bad video directing at the climax at the very end ... showing the fingers of the contrabasoonist during the last part of the climax....

  • yes, it is Boulez, and that's the tuba at the end, not the contrabassoon :)

  • IMO, this seems to Staatskapelle Berlin performance a few weeks ago.
