Ok, that does it! I keep searching for information I need and your videos keep showing up. I guess I will just have to subscribe so this never happens again
Hey pal , just wanted to say thanks for your video tutorial. Im just starting out and your instructional video is very clear , on point, and not boring. So thanks for sharing your knowledge with me.
@temporaryscars Not for the handgun cases, but I had to do quite a bit of trimming for my 5.56x45 (.223 Remington) ammo. I haven't had any handgun brass exceed the max case length yet (9mm, 40 S&W, 45ACP). Still, it's not a bad idea to invest in one down the road. The tools aren't expensive, and they work very nicely. Let me know if you have any other questions. Another great channel to go to for reloading info is ammosmith.
Hey man kinda looking into reloading. Looking at some equipment and was wondering if you would take the time and let me know what's good what's not. Thanks
@superbrown1985 I've mostly used Lee Precision equipment, but you really can't go wrong with RCBS, Lyman, or Dillon either. Lee seems to be the best bang for the buck, though. There are several people out there that use pull from several different manufacturers. For beginners, there are several kits out there that have about everything you need to get started (minus components), so you might want to look into those. Lee has some great sets out right now.
Thanks, this was very informative. I never watched the process of reloading before but was always interested in it for reasons of saving money on ammo and as a hobby
Nothing better than sitting back in the morning and watching a good ol' reloadin' vid! And the other 2 or so parts as well! Looking forward to seeing the rest shortly. That's a great tip on how to clean out the pockets. No wonder manufacturers see it fit to charge so much for certain equipment. After a few thousand times, you're gonna be willing to pay anything to make that job easier!
@DemonHide No kidding! My left hand was so sore from holding those small cases that I had to take numerous short breaks. Can a primer pocket cleaner be considered a precision tool? LOL!
This is good info for those that don't know this. Not sure if it's here in the comments yet but after I de-prime the cases I'll throw them into a tumbler, no having to clean out the primer pockets. Take Care :-))
What if you could mount a suitably sized bore bush in a dremel tool and set it on a moderate speed . With the Dremel tool secured in the vice you could just push the primer pocket onto the spinning brush and be done in a jiffy.
@yellowbusguy Hey, anything to make my life easier. LOL! I used to have a Dremel knock-off, but it broke. I'll definitely have to get another because they are just so useful.
This is just a little something I use to clean primer pockets I ground down an old broken drill bit to fit inside the primer pocket and then mounted it in a piece of 3/4 dowel. 1 or 2 twists and hey presto clean pocket.
@rugersix Thanks, Harry. Do you reload ammo? I though I saw some reloading equipment in one of your videos. Of course, I could be delusional and seeing things that aren't there. LOL!
@thebudgetarmory1 I WISH!!! No I had a partnership once and did all the brass cleaning! I have bags of 100 in .38 9mm etc ready for reloading! I did pick up one of those Lee hand reloaders for the one at a time but have yet to do even that! LOL =O
you did a great job on this one...i was thinking just yesterday how i would love to see more vids of your reloading...too cool...take care and thanks for posting.
Awesome video buddy! I've been thinking alot about doing my own reloads.i heard some companies are experimenting with different primers, just wandering why the winchester brass was more fouled up than the others.I knew Theodore Geisel was,Dr.Seuss, but I couldn't think of the title! I was thinking,Sam i am! ugh! lol..
@1dabirdman I don't know why the Winchester brass had more primer fouling, but the brass itself was very consistent. Sam I am is definitely one of my favorites.
awesome sauce! Can't wait for the next vid. I keep saying I'm gonna get into reloading but 20 years later I've still not started. I think I have 8 large boxes of brass maybe 9. Mostly .45 acp, some .303 Wife has asked me several times to throw them away but I swear I'll get around to it eventually lol. Can't seem to save much .308 my cetme pretty much destroys them.
@IsbianBlackheart I first looked into it 20 years ago too, but just never took the plunge. In fact, a friend of mine gave me an old reloading manual. It was so old that it didn't even have load data for the 40 S&W! I guess we just both a couple of late bloomers. LOL!
Thats great your starting. I have been reloading for a year now. You were right to start with 9mm and 40mm. I started with 9mm and 223. Easy Cartridges to start. I found unfired or once fired brass you don't need to measure. Unless you load them hot. I have three time fired brass and did not need to trim. Your mileage may vary. LOL. Lee has some great products. I would recommend the ram prime for primers instead of using the handheld. I had problems with primers until i used the press ram.
@Waverip11 I haven't experienced any issues with the Auto Prime (yet), but then again, it's only been about 400 rounds so far. I do want to load 223 eventually, but I want to get a brass tumbler first. Just something about shiny brass that I like. Thanks for watching, and I'll keep the ram prime in mind!
Love your vids, just wondering, hows your Lee c-frame press. I'm a new reloaded and I'm getting the same one. Any complaints?

Did you do any case trimming/chamfer/deburring at all in this process?
I'm in the process of gathering everything I need to start reloading, but it seems like for every question I find an answer to, five more pop up.
