@swankrecords True, but keep in mind we don't know if she was singing to this finished version. It's quite possibly the producer who would've had to have noticed this.
@maccagrabme her lyrics landed too fast ahead of time creating a rigid melody. instead she should have slowed her voice for a laid back feel aka; in the pocket.
This was my jam from the "Set My Love In Motion" LP. I used to jam this one back in my skating rink DJ days in 1981. This record seems to be underappreciated by her fans who seem to like her early tracks much more. But this was THE JAM! The title track was a nice ballad as well.
amazing!! i LOVE this album, and it was MY favorite track as well!! had no idea it came in an extended format! thanks for making it available for those of us who wish we could get more Syreeta stuff on CD!!! God rest her soul and bless you for sharing this great track!!
@desulated It's not really electro funk, a lot of people confuse the two because they used the same types of synths in NYC in the early 80s. This was just another cut made with synths that were the standard then, as opposed to a more electronic sound of electro with something like Planet Rock-then called hip hop now considered electro.
Hell yeah, this is FUNKY!!!!

Oh my God, this is the real Boogie, one of the hottest Disco-Funk tracks I've ever heard.
Quite tough to mix it live on vinyl, it sooooo downtempo. Nevertheless, this is a real floor filler.
