Still the contemporary empire isnt like in the old days, Americas biggest contribution to the world is a productive sustainable capitalistic system, empirial transcontinental powers are now private [like Walmart which is risher then most nations], this power affects lives & governments, its the new Catholic empire but much larger, lets see if it lasts as long.

@samosayoe America isnt the new catholic church; capitalism is [USA just sponsored & owns most of it [fortune 500]]. The catholic church empire was based in Rome, its influence was transcontinental. Its influence got other totalitarian states to do its will. The private sector, which isnt something solely American [Britains Shell is one of the largest company's] can also get other political entity's, regardless of nationality, to do its will.

USA is & far into the future will continue to be the largest representative of that power. They were "emperors" who had an "empire", Another example, The Roman Empire had a Republic infrastructure similar to the U.S. If they can be an empire why cant America? America is wealthy, owns many territories, and has troops and armed forces of some nature, whether it be air craft carriers or jets, on call stationed around the world. America is a peaceful empire.

Second Empire was called German Empire "Das Deutsche Reich", ruled by the Kaiser, German word for Emperor and was recognized as such by all nations.

Third Empire was called "Das Dritte Reich", aka Third Reich, it was a Geopolitical Empire, ruled by a dictator.

Difference between a dictator and a Kaiser or Emperor is, one of them goes through a coronation process.

British Empire was ruled by a King.

Any way, what here is called European Empire, and actually to official history is French and British, is in a way not at all British and French, but Romish Counter Reformed. But many would not agree on that also.

uh mate, you made a mistake; the Caliphate wasn't united, Pelagius, the Visigothic founder of Castile, was never defeated by the moors so their authority did not extend into northern Spain, it did extend into southernmost France though, but was pretty much autonomous, thus not part of an Empire. and you ignored the British, and holy roman empires. Large empires have a track record of being more stable than networks of trade agreements and alliances. Plus the longer such a state lasts the greater the melting pot effect is, and the more assimilated the population becomes.

In essence if one such a nation has survived for a few decades its mostly in the clear... assuming there isn't a major decline.

Cyrus the Great was the first Achaemenid king who brought the tribes togather and founded the Persian Empire. So I belive it is correct to call Achaemenid empire as the Persian. The sasanids are offcourse also Persian. But the Seljuq are not Persian, they are Turks who adapted our language and culture.
