The Princess and the Frog will win. The Oscar judges will see it as their one chance to vote for an African American without really voting for an African American, since she's only animated, and by white guys to boot.
When I saw Ellen Fox, I thought, "Hey, it's Up." I'm not talking about the movie though.
Coraline is NOT going to get it. They will give it to Up, c'mon that movie was nominated for Best Picture as well! Do you really think it's not going to win Best Animated? Be realistic now.
You know, Pixar hasn't always won the Oscar. In 2001, Monsters Inc. lost to Shrek. In 2006, Cars lost to Happy Feet. However, I feel if Up doesn't win this category, it will win Best Picture.
I disagree. Happy Feet was pretty good & I find Cars to be overrated.
But just so I don't become your enemy, I will say that Cars did beat Happy Feet at the Golden Globes in the same category (Happy Feet won a different Globe, which was for Best Song).
i just thought animation wise cars was incredible, and i think it had a better story line. Happy feet's characters were all based on other people ( and not the ones voice acting them) But you are entitled to your opinion
"Up" was one of my top 10. Not of the year or of the decade, but of all time. Yes, it was uneven, but it is a kid's movie. That phrase "it's a kid's movie" is usually made to deflect flaws, but I don't think it's emotional roller coaster aspect was really that bad. Anyone that can make me cry one minute and laugh the next should get the Oscar.
I LOVED all of those movies soo much. Except for the Secret of Kehls (sp?) which I havent seen...but I'm really hoping for Fantastic Mr. Fox or Coraline. Both were so visually inviting.
It seems the person on the right is using his own opinion to predict this, when that's not how you predict the Oscar. Up is nominated for best picture, hence it will be win best animated feature.
That said, I would love it if Princess and the Frog took this, but it will go to Up. No question about it.
It was so frickin obvious Up was gonna win, seeing as it was the only animated movie nominated for Best Picture.

Idk, i think "Up" is still going to win. The Oscars have no shame in picking the same kind of thing over and over.

I think Coraline deserves to win. That was the most amazing looking stop-motion movie I've ever seen...and the other father song was awesome.

I'm watching the Secret of Kells right now. It's a european production and the animation and design looks stellar.

I loved Coraline. I don't really care about the Oscars but the people behind Coraline deserve all the accolades they can get.

UP sucker-punched me in the balls and then tried to hold me and tell me it was allright.
Also, I still posit that Brett and Ellen aren't wearing any pants in these.
