  • @LakeRafiD That would be the one & only Renee Diggs, RIP.

  • I miss those days when it was cool to sing in tune with a band kicking out the beats.

  • thanks for the upload

  • don't like to compair but, dam she's finer and more talented than 99.9 percent of the so called female singers today.

  • Had no clue Renae passed, RIP to a true star, and shining light in music. starpoint is one the top BANDS in there era.

  • such a cool dance song from the 1980's...take me back already.....this is a cool upload...^o^

  • Suddenly, I'm in the mood to roller skate.

  • THEY WERE AWESOME

  • @summerbabetoo I hope they don't let anyone re-sample this song.

  • @u2hubbard Agreed

  • the 80's...hot jam!

  • I feel like a kid again watching this video!! LOVE this song!!

  • make you want to get up and dance

  • she so sexy

  • @JohnNicholasDLC She is so underrated. I think she's more sexy than Beyonce.

  • This reminds me of being a small child dancing around the house, or in my mom's station wagon grooving to a cassette tape...

  • OMG! I'm back in highschool!!!! LOVE IT!

  • @OsusieQ1 I'm in the clubs

  • What a VOICE...TALENT...CHARISMA....CHARM....SEXYNESS!! Truly missed....R.I.P. Renee and Ernesto!!

  • better now than the 80s.

  • When this song first came out I thought it was a new joint from Stephanie Mills. I used to blast this song. It's almost as if it shouldn't ever be played with the volume low.

  • I met Renae & her bodyguard when i stayed with my sister in Maryland when this song was out. she's very nice. i got a picture and an autograph.....

  • My favorite song of the decade since I was 4 yrs. old. 💓

  • wow back i actually looked forward to hearing the radio. Nowdays i mostly listen to sports radio.

  • @Dmixx101

Same here, everytime I am in somebody's car I tell them to put on Sports Radio because my ears can't take the lack of melody, singing or music and that's before the fake thug sexual rapping.

  • This was my SONG! Renee Diggs sang the heck out of this song, and was so beautiful, may she rest in peace. I loved these bands that had their heyday in the 80's - Starpoint, Atlantic Starr, Midnight Star, SOS Band, Klymaxxx, the list goes on.

  • SHOULDAH PADS!!! LOVE them '80s!!! :-D

  • This right here was serious R&B, when the music actually had "soul" in it and you could feel it all the way through; you'd be disappointed when the song ended, it felt so good to you...too bad most cats today (John Legend and Anthony Hamilton being among the few exceptions) aren't bringing it like that anymore...

  • this was great music

  • @vraydio preach

  • They are in Atlanta, GA. Look them up they go by the name of D and A E "Drakarr and & Experience".

If yr ever in Atlanta give yourself a treat check them out.

  • Someone said they died, what happened??....well I just finish getting down to this,I should've been born in 80's,I love the 80's music ...if your in music buss please bring back some 80's music:-)

  • @marygordomax ..Renee Diggs died in 2005 from MS complications.

  • @jmusic45 so sorry to hear that r i p

  • soooo goood....

  • Love it!!!

  • The Best Onstage Performance --LIVE!! Hot Hit Song!! ~Starpoints~ - ~Restless Tour~

  • I used to dance to this as a kid.aka cindy j.

  • Man this grouped rocked!! Needless to say they paved the way, cant wait to see them on unsung. She had a great stage presence back in the eighties very talented! Reminds me of a R&B Jennifer Nettles. Looks like Jen might of got a little of fashion from her too! Sorry to hear the news about her and her bandmates death. May they rest in peace.

  • My generation was talented as shit.

We didn't need American Idol. Talent was everywhere

  • Ohhhh shit now you talking about olde school but i'm living it.

  • RIP RENEE DIGS-HIGHLY UNDERRATED-THIS WAS THE JOINT MY SENIOR YEAR!!

  • Classic! Too bad the female lead vocalist passed away. This band was DA BOMB!!!!! Love their music.

  • Never saw this video before but this was da jam. Another unsung group!

  • moshlolu pkwy

  • Castle Hill, the Bronx!

  • AT 35 i STILL REMEMBER OUR ROUTINE....LOL

  • Renee's boyfriend & band member Ernesto Phillips dies 1 year before her.

  • Jammin song from my college days. Man, I'm getting old.

  • Man there were so many groups in the 80s it is hard to keep it with them all!!! Thanks youtube for taking me back in time!!! Good times and I wish we could still enjoy these times!! Thank God for being a 80s baby!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Yes this is my song...

  • CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!R.I.P. RENEE DIGGS

  • @mznailz69 What? I didn't know that? When?

  • @grethomory Ms.Renee Diggs passed away in 2005 of heart complications from Multiple Sclerosis she was 50

  • @mznailz69 I am so sorry and shocked to hear this. My mother had MS and passed away with it as well. Awful disease. May she rest in peace. I didn't know this.

  • nyc was the best in the 80s, music was bangin, big boomboxs, house partys, girls, weed

  • WOW it sure brings back great memories!!! R I P Renee Diggs your AWSOME!!!!

  • I couldn't wait for this video to come on when i was younger so i can see her fine self...Lol. R.I.P.

  • a great loss R.I.P. Renée Diggs

  • No one cares if you're 21 years or younger and enjoy music that was made before you were born, so stop it, everyone. I was born in the 70s, and can assure you that nobody is or has ever been impressed by the fact that I like music recorded in the 60s.

  • 510 reppin to the death, 80's crazy babies....

  • SO HOT!!!

  • Back in the days growing in up in the Coachella Valley crusing 7-11 and looking for the house party brings back many memories

  • R.I.P. Renée Diggs and Ernesto Phillips!!! Real R&B!

  • @MultiplicityMe2 Yes indeed sweetie.

  • RIP Renee Diggs, and Ernesto Phillips. You were part of a very good band.

  • back when RnB music could have killer guitar solo's.

  • OOOOH MY SHIT....this is the real deal.. i LOVE it...I am goin crazy..this is my drug..the clothes, the moustaches, the hair coupes, the dancing I LOVE IT!!!!!

If there a party on this planet where the best DJ's of the 80's play this music than i wil be there...i will pay 1000000 euros to be there....i live in Holland and we have a radiostation Jamm FM and they play the funky soul from the 80's...I LOVE IT....the timex social club, oran juice jones aaaaaaaahhhh shit man i love it

  • I was in the Marines on a ship out in the middle of the ocean when this video was played on CCTV. Everyone stopped and watched it. It was the most requested song/video for the entire cruise. This is what 80's R&B was like. We had real bands, real people, real vocals, just real music then. People wrote & preformed songs that actually ment something that you could relate to and dance to as well. Where are the bands and real music of today?

  • @MrAntman007 yea seriously where the hell are they, and what the hell happened to music???? it sucks now

  • @MrAntman007 Sad, but so, so true. The "producer" drives music these days. Our only consolation...Be glad "Luther", "Aretha" and the likes of Patti LaBelle came out when they did. Today, they couldn't get a recording contract!

  • @MrAntman007 That's real talk man. I don't know what happened to "Klymaxx". They were hot like this too.

  • @MrAntman007 totally agree. 80's R&B was the best...I don't know what they call this crap nowadays.

  • 7yrs old..I played the whole cassette tape in my boom box until it popped!!...got a new tape of course..RIP Renee and Ernesto one of my all time fav groups!!!))

  • @NehaLuvsRain I let my tape rock..til my tape popped!!!

  • Wow you took it back with this love it!

  • Those were the best years!!! Crusin', Hanging Out, No Responsibilities, Partying, Meeting Guys, etc... Old School Music is the best! I exposed my kids to my music and they are excited now, when they were growing up they didn't think so! Like me with my mom and her music of the 1945-1960. Then listened to my older sister listening to her music from the 1960-70's. Then I started to listen and pick my own music from 1970's-1990's. I still have some Albums LP's, 45 Records and yes Cassettes! ;)

  • I just notice something. The accent. are these guys from the U.K.?

  • @momoney39401 No. USA

  • This girl can sang and she looks a lot like a younger whitney houston!

  • @outofthisworldgurl She passed away...she was very talented.

  • i was stationed at camp geiger north carolina when this song came out. never forget the airstation

  • This is my jam even in 2011 brings back so many good memories now this is real music not like most of the crap they listen to these days

  • This is so meaningful to me. A dear friend Keith Diamond wrote this song. Tis true - this was the JAM!!!

  • To all the kids out there, those things the guys in the back are holding on to are called instruments.

  • @vraydio lol...i love it...they just don't know what they are missing...

  • @vraydio Wait, Lil Wayne plays guitar... Scratch that, just saw his solo.

  • @DexterHaven49 lmao.

  • @DexterHaven49 lol

  • @vraydio HAHAHAHA... not sure if Starpoint is a good example to prove a point about the state of music and musicianship. but make no mistake, this song is the JAM!

  • @InterMadness Actually it makes the point very well. Starpoint was far from the biggest or best group of the era, but compare them to the non-musicians of today.

  • @vraydio LOL. yeah but the 70s is when they were really playing them, the 80s is when they stopped and just held them.

  • @vraydio hahahahahahahahaha.....couldint agree more

  • @vraydio well what else would they be holding on to? there peckers!

  • @maybe2243 Considering the way modern music is made with autotune and electronic beats instead of musicians they might as well.

  • @vraydio Awesome comment!!! Couldn't have said it better myself. Kids nowadays don't have a clue what REAL music (or talent for that matter) is. ;)

  • @vraydio Your comment is hilarious! Sad part is, it's also instructional.

  • @vraydio lmao and all those Instruments being played together is called A BAND

  • @DivaBabyTX512 Lol, lol,lol...

  • @DivaBabyTX512 lol that concept seems to be lost on todays artist

  • Detroit, winter 1985; 9th grade...doin' Earth science homework while listening/watching VH1 and can remember this when it was new! LOL

  • RIP Ernesto too....

  • RIP Rene Diggs!!! A real lady and a real singer!

  • Wow! What a treat. Brings back some good clean fun memories from my early teens... Love it ... Thanks!!!

  • I love it.

  • This was the jam! I was in high school and in young love, or what I thought was love and we use to JAM this song! I also had a major crush on Rene Diggs, the lead singer of Starpoint!

  • @LyricalQuest It's great music!! ;)

  • @LyricalQuest That's because these guys were soooo ahead of their time.On the real.I remember this song.Starpoint was the shit, but like all other songs,if the record label/company don't do anyhting for them then they die out.

  • crazy,! took me back years. goose bumps on my arm

  • Just a week shy of the one-year anniversary of the death of her longtime companion Phillips, Renée Diggs also died (March 18, 2005) at the age of 50, due to a heart condition. Her album Oasis was finally released in the U.S., posthumously.
