Sadly, Karen could not have made it in today's music. Today, all the singers have to try to sound like African Americans to be successful. Prime example: Christina Aguilera- a fine voice, but she has to affect all that up and down yawling in every song. But that's what the younger generation wants to hear- whites girls trying to sound like Aretha Franklin.

Celine Dion is the only female artist next to Karen that doesn't scream all over the place when singing holiday music, what a tragedy.
