  • you don't play tournaments. Can you score. Seems like your leading the blind. Hcaking balls in ankle high weeds steep as anything, and we have never not once seen one of your infamous shots land. No scores.... Just recycling the book Hogan wrote. But your delivery is great and your know it all swagger is hilarious. I have watched every one of your vids !!! hah Keep um coming i may have to combat you with one of my own !

  • guys you crap on a lot but dont really say anything, maybe take up politics?

  • as is Tradition

  • ur a fag

  • There is nothing simple and normal about moe swing. Its ugly and complicated. Byron Nelson swing is probably the easiest to copy with the exception of the knee action in his swing.

  • @Noonealive Actually it is quite simple, but like anything, you have to practice. If you look at some of the so-called modern swings, they are much more complex and have more moving parts that break down eventually.

  • @watertonrivers As Moe related in his clinics, he referred to the golfswing as science. He said the strongest part of the swing is the mind and not the big muscles(legs) etc. He said most people try to balance the swing, but just the opposite is true.

  • This swing sucks, i tried it and hate it. It tenses up the back and feels stiff throughout. There isnt anything natural about it

  • @Gyro911 Then how was Moe Norman shooting his his age...lol. I have been studying his swing for about 3 years and there is nothing strenuous about it. Your obviously not paying attention.

  • how different is the moe release than the hogan release? do you feel like you're blocking it? i guess that's how you'd say it, i dunno. keeping the blade square to square? ie rolling the clubface clockwise a la trevino/palmer, or something of that nature?

  • I noticed that Moe addressed with the club several inches behind the ball. What was the significance of this?

  • @Tesla108 Moe says that placing his hands behind the ball cancelled a tendency to pick-up the club head on the backswing and for improved timing. You don't have to do that but you can experiment with it.

  • Great Moe swing!

  • I saw Moe at the BC Open at Quilchena (Richmond British Columbia) on the range next to Jim Nelford, when Nelford was still an amature going to Bringham Young. Nelford had been warming up for some time and Moe was just walking out with his bucket of balls in one hand, a coke in the other. I heard Moe say to Nelford, "if you can't find your swing within 5 shots you never will". Then Moe looked at the audience and said, "it should only take you 5 shots to warm up people". You got to love that!

  • Sevam!!

    U Da Man!

    Love your analysis and knowledge

  • Hi Sevam, I often find myself on dirt or sand (outside the bunker) around the greens. I find that a flop shot is difficult because there is no grass to slide the clubhead underneath the ball. Is there any other technique to play this shot?

  • Listen, Moe was a savant. He was an extremely gifted ball striker. His swing can not be taught or duplicated. There was something in Moe's brain that made him hit a flush golf shot every single time. It wasn't his swing.

  • moe was a genius!!!!! Everyone should try an emulate his swing....so simple!

  • stop making videos fatty

  • I like how you act all that, and think you have an amazing swing, but your not on the tour..

  • nice. i agree. its just about how you hit the ball. even if you have a horrible unorthodox looking swing. if its consistent, there is distance control and it flies straight, then who cares?

  • how many majors did mow win? thats a dumb question. if you won a major you wouldn't be on youtube looking at golf swings. This is for the golf who is having difficulty in their game and want improvement. This swing allows the golf to break 100, 90, 80... Tell me sir have you won a major... If my memory serves not very any people in history has....

  • Besides Pam Anderson, Moe may be the most famous to ever come out of Canada!

  • Sevam, I have a question concerning the stance that you have. I know that the left foot is flared out but are your heels parallel to each other or is the left heel open to the intended target line? Thanks for all of the interesting videos.

  • How many majors did Moe win?

  • Have you ever seen Moe Norman cast a fly rod?

  • Maybe you should Moe the lawn before hitting balls...

  • i wondered if Moe's method would hold up out of the rough but this performance made me a believer. Or is it MOW Norman?

  • Hi, Sevam1 how would you define weight shift and how would you know if you have done the proper weight shift? Ricky

  • I am very interested in what Moe Norman has to say but he does everything so differently to myself that I don't really understand what I can take from him to use in my swing.

  • oh by the way tenillechristine as long as you get your head to the right spot at impact it doesn't matter. The great butch harmon says in his video "as long as your head laterally moves behind the ball its ok.

Like sevam says he hits the ball great just couldn't put (me too) .Tiger is great cause of his short game not his long game.He misses way too many fairways and never moves his head!So there goes your theory .If you think you stink. Ask Faldo

  • bigbrova2; Yeah it really amazes me what kind of high tenillechristine is on, because she/he or whatever has delusions of grandeur and obviously ain't got a clue about the golf swing!!

  • Hey sevam1, at the moment I am a Moe junkie.I love the guy and every thing about him.I have been swinging to his method with great results. The one thing that kills me is that i will never get to meet him.He is a great inspration to me so what was it like to meet him and play with him.I've bought a few DVDs and he seems jolly with a great sense of humour.

  • Meeting him and playing with him was exactly like in the videos you see on YouTube and the way you here him described. Shy and uncertain of himself unless he had a golfclub in his hand. It was great to play with him. Talking to him at times when he packed his things up at his car was even better. He was very smart, but had some diffculty putting it into conversation. If you paid attention though you eventually realized it was all there. I was lucky that he gave me the time of day but he did.

  • @sevam1 I am a student of Golf. One question; Is it not simpler to play all shot off the left heel, in general or to vary that distant depending on the club. I know that it is generally different in the wind, playing it back in the stance but how about just a normal conditions shot.

  • moenorman,.org has a great 20 min vid of moe out on the range explaining his swing.click the tab on the bottom right hand corner.best on internet of him explaining his swing

  • That is great!

  • Sevam1; Thanks to you, Moe and Trevino I am probably hitting the ball as consistenly and better than when I was a teenager with a low handicap. The swing thoughts that you and Moe teach are absolutely brilliant!! There's one video of Moe on youtube where he's dangling the club between two fingers saying"Look its a pendulum" and giggling with glee...what a brilliant swing thought that was!! I took that thought to the practice range and was astonished at the consistency!!

  • Your head is moving laterally almost 6 inches in the back swing. Under pressure you'd spray it all over the place. That's golf fact. Every golf instructor of note in the last 80 years would point that out. Your pivot needs to be tighter. Ask Nicklaus, Tiger or Lee Trevino (Moe would agree with Lee as well, trust me).

  • It may be a fact, but the truth is I never sprayed it all over the place when I competed. I just couldn't putt.

  • tenillechristine; Bullshit. I personally saw Lee Trevino play at the 1968 PGA and Texas Open held in San Antonio. Lee had lots of lateral head movement but as any good ball striker knows, its where the head is at impact. I swing alot like sevam1, Moe, and Lee. Matter of fact I just started this on the practice range and hit it more consistently than I ever have in my life!!

  • if you played a lot, you would learn that there aren't a lot of truths to the game just some ideas that are applicable to a wide range of people...therefore, people misinterpret them as being fact.

  • Agree

  • very good point

  • @tenillechristine Check out these two videos about George Knudson in order:

    George Knudson 2

George Knudson Great Hitter of a Golf ball!

I think I'll stick with what George Knudson says about the purpose of the head in the golf swing...

  • sevam, on the course, do you play like hogan with a lengthy preshot rourtine, or do you play like moe where he just goes up to the ball and hits it?

good ebook by the way. lots of anecdotes, but I can see you're holding back a LOT of real content. I look forward to your beefier versions.

  • Moe turned golf into a reaction sport. I am not there in terms of speed, but I do find that like rock and roll the more you think the more you stink. When I play well there is very little fussing over the ball.

Glad you like the book. I will be adding some things shortly and you will get a notice to download a fresh copy in your email.

  • This isnt disrespect but your swing doesnt look that good to me, i like the lag but not alot of width in the backswing, nice wrists and arms though.

  • It's funny that you like the one thing that I am fighting. Lag. When Moe explained his swing to me said he was working agaist lag on every swing. Lag happens. You can't avoid it but you pull against it because what yu really want is not lag at all but rather a constant pull. If you don't feel like that you aren't swinging. Your doing something else. That's how I feel too... when I get it right:)

  • Right knee at impact has moved a little to much to the inside, and your body should stard off slightly tilted this will improve your swing and make you that much more consistant, great job though, it really looks like you've put some time into it.

  • I haven't put any time into it in many years. Moe showed me what he did a long long time ago and I just never forgot.

  • The first time I saw Moe hit a golf ball was back in 95 in Fl, and I have been swinging like him every since. You are correct... the back foot is the key to the golf swing. For me, I add one more key.... swing down the line. Good job on the vids.

  • Beautiful

  • Fantastic Swing, I think you can live by teaching this stuff!

  • Great Swing sevam1!!!
