This song is not called the Kiss, is called the Gael. Is art of last of the Mohicans soundtrack. The one that plays in the final confrontation (best action scene-music combo ever).
@ethanjft Hi. No, this was at the Michigan Renaissance Festival over Labor Day weekend in 2009 at the Little Guinness Pub. I hadn't seen Jenny perform since she was in E Muzeki and she new I loved this song when she played in that group. I had just walked up on them as they were finishing one song and was getting ready to record whatever was next and she whispered to everyone and then played this song for me. She is just amazing and so is Circa Paleo.
i got a violin for fathers day, watching videos of masters like this makes me pick up my violin and practice. One of these days im going to be great like you Jenny.
The majority of the tune was known as The Grael in the Michael Mann version of "Last of the Mohicans", and has elements of the main theme in it. The Kiss refers to a scene within the movie, and this music was played in it.
First of al, I want to thank Circa Paleo for making "The Kiss" their music. The drum intro and some of the interpetation Jenny does improves it so much.
How can Jenny be so good and unrecognized? Violin music is such a niche market it is hard to break out in. Then you have styles, Jenny plays celtic and gypsy, that further catergoize you. Keep it up and come play up in North Texas so I can come see and hear you. Brownwood is close enough and about splits the difference.
it will be there for a while, so i should think that they will play there again... saw them there and your right, Jenny O'Connor is the best musician i've EVER heard and that it is hard to branch out as a Violinist and fiddler (yes, she plays the fiddle too)
I don't know, but I am enjoying the chances to listen to her and sometimes sit in with the group without having to pay the price a stadium ticket, which is what they'll be doing soon I think.

@DJTrajix This is my favorite song that they play. It would be really nice if they did a few songs from braveheart too.

I saw them for the first time at Sherwood Forest; and their rendition of one of my favorite movie soundtracks was fantastic!
