  • I'm so glad some silly fart cannon 4 bangers can be built to put out big power...but that's all they are, big woopie cushions. What MALE can go down the road or track and think that their mobile fart cannon sounds manly? The movie Fast and Furious was the biggest mistake ever because now it has just caused trouble and has pissed off Police and muscle car enthusiasts. These little mobile woopie cushions are the reasons why some communities can't have a "cruise night" anymore.

  • haha sorry to burst your bubble cure213 but honda holds the "best auto builder" title lol their is many k series 2.0L and 2.4L hondas with stock motors that simply have turbo setups on them running over 800whp. time will tell how long they last at 800whp on stock motors but at 600whp it is more than triple the oem power level and their is no question about the reliablility there. and it only costs about 3000 to turbo an rsx type s :). ford and honda FTW. now lets save for some forged internals:D

  • this car will run high 8s to low 9s with slicks if you read the description above he whoops up on a zx14 from a roll and a zx14s 1/4 mile time is high 8s low 9s depending on the rider it all has to do with the fact he is not using true slicks he is spinning at least half the track

  • @ROBMAYNARD131 4.56 will run through the powerband waaay too fast...running TT or even sc you don't want to have to keep shifting. gotta let the gears run out. this is purely a traction issue.

  • i don't get it. how does 700 hp equate to 11 something quarters? I knew a guy as a kid who ran 12's on a medium-built 283 chevelle. It sure as shit wasn't anywhere near 700hp.

  • @kenfo0 I cant verify the hp but just because it has all that power does not mean it's usable, turbos are great for top end, but they often do not preform as well on the low end. then again maybe he is just taking it easy since the rest of the car is stock and won't handle that kind of abuse for very long at all, or he could just suck at drag racing.

  • @kenfo0 It's turbo charged. Not supercharged. The lag means slower start but faster top end acceleration and will probably hit a higher top speed in the trap

You felt the need to reply "It's a turbo not a supercharger and it was street tires", which in no way relates to what I wrote. People run 12's on street tires every day.

I don't know why you're trying to start an argument when I was just simply giving you an answer to your question. There is lag involved and since it's a manual the he loses all that boost in between shifts which creates even more lag. He probably finished his race at a higher top speed than when his car was supercharged but he would have gotten a better launch with sc

  • you guys gotta remember, that race was done on 748rwhp, not 850 because he was running on 93 pump gas, not race gas. Also, there's a lot of traction issues. With radials and race gas, 9's all day.

    seems like traction issues but the mph is there for a mid to high 10, also suspension set-up is probably a lowering kit which sucks for transferring weight, glad i did coilover kit, upr k-member

  • I'd swap cams before I upgraded the turbos. Stock cams are tiny and very little duration. Ford left a ton of power on the table with the OEM grind.

  • i love how people say ford isnt reliable... you show me a car whose power can be doubled without any engine mods. the GT, 100% stock engine with the heffner twins and boom, 1000+hp and no other mods at all, this cobra, 100% stock and the power was more than doubled and daily driven. ford uses SC to make sure their cars can handle boost on high power apps, not just to make more power. Ford is, and always will be the best Auto builder to emerge from of the human race.

  • @BYCURE213 i dont know if you saw this or not but it said they used twin 57mm turbos. a single 57mm is enough to get a car moving pretty quick on its own, let alone two of them. put those same turbos on just about any other car and i guarantee you can double the power.

  • @BYCURE213 I drive a 1995 mustang gt and I must say off the juice it can hold its own against ls1 but on the gas (125) ls1 with all bolt ons got a pretty big ass beating but I always thought ls1 was (is still to a certain extent) always gonna be faster due to sbc cheap price then I discovered these 4v mod engines and its truly truly amazing... swap time :)

  • Only 135 mph in the 1/4? How much does the car weigh with the turbo setup? Were those runs on the 851 whp boost/tune? Reason I ask is that I ran 138mph with slightly over 600whp. I know I weigh much less but still. I figured 851whp would trap at least over 140mph.

    Still bad ass none-the-less.

    They had NVH (noise vibration and harmonics) 4.6's -the same used in mach 1's. The NVH's were actually heavier than the stock iron 4.6's by around 10 lbs. The extra weight supposedly helps out with the NVH's, hence the name.

    96-01 cobras were all aluminum, 03/04 were iron. All had aluminum heads of course.

    A th400 backed 03/04 cobra making 800-900 horse typically runs low 9's

  • Awesome car and dyno numbers. Sadly 12 et's are horrible for that much hp. That car should runs 10's. With slicks and built rearend it should be able to pull high 9's.

    No, it was a kit, but I dont remember from who. The sullivan has since been removed for a ported 99 cobra. It makes 100 more Hp and 94 torque in the mid-range now........  So, ummm, yeah.

  • i have around 480rwhp and i run 11.9 with a whipple,tires,clutch,cams. you shoulda put a single t76 turbo instead of twins.

  • @TheRedwings05 efficiency is the key to hp. twins are more efficient than a single. Put a wider track setup in the rear and that car would have seen faster times. But sacrifices have to be made when driven daily.
