  • ok i love this song and QOTSA but the camera work will give me a fit soon

  • live free listenning rock or live your stupid life doing nothing

  • rock and roll will not die

  • When I listen the song it makes me wanna learn to play the guitar

  • i got a fever............ and the only medication, is more cowbell!

  • This would give the average person a seizure...

  • QOTSA, the best band in this moment!!!

    They keeps the rock alive!!!

  • Someone shoot whoever edited this video together.

  • we want to see the band rock out, not the bloody camera man. awful awful camera work!

  • 0:08 UGH!

  • love this band, love the performance. Think the engineers had a few too many though

  • hope to see them in september!

  • Geil :D ich liebe es

  • @jebus150 gibson...

  • @frooeessaa Its arguable that some epiphones are better than Gibsons for that they are made in great places such as Korea (Which make great quality guitars). At the end of the day its just personal preference, I actualy prefer Imported guitars

  • @BritishMetalIsKing Yes.I've never seen Josh play a Les Paul or Fenders. He likes to go against the grain with European guitars. His Epiphone(Though it's owned by Gibson)most likely custom made with different pickups. But the Epiphone ES-335 Dot is known to have 90% of the Gibson Dot sound at a much lower price.Epiphone make some great affordable guitars. My new $400 Epiphone SG-400-Les Paul custom has been said by some to play and sound just like a Gibson LP.And some say better.I love it.

  • @cambruoso He uses a Fender Telecaster with TCV and has recently been using a Fender thinline tele with Queens. He used Les Pauls in the the early days of Kyuss including a sweet cream double cutaway now owned by Dave Catching of EODM. I agree with you about the Epiphone, it's obviously heavily modded, nothing is stock on that guitar except the body and neck.

  • wooohooo will see them live at rock werchter in a few weeks :D

  • MORE COWBELL DAMN IT!!

  • Comment removed

  • why was that an epiphone?!

  • @frooeessaa Why not?

  • @frooeessaa Because the epiphone dot kinda owns

  • Why are you reading my comment?

  • @blackfeiticeira Boredom!

  • 2 fast.

  • Josh Homme is the Man!

  • I was there !

  • I wanna fuck that jamblock

  • its 90% skill people, i can play the same licks on shitty ibanez starter guitar as i can my Gibson SG

  • @steffsweet45 well ya, you can play the same licks on almost any guitar. I can play the same licks on this shitty guitar made out of plywood and bailing wire that I drug back from Africa, as I can on my explorer. But which one do you think sounds better?

  • @Smoolock well yeah its the explorer but too many people are relying on gear and effects to make thier sound these days

  • @steffsweet45 ya, isn't that the truth. But there is something major to be said for the sound you get out of a better instrument. But good gear should never be used as a crutch for terrible playing haha.

  • @Smoolock Haha exactly, like a good instrument is nice ill give you that, but atleast queens play with real guitars, and amps, instead of those guys who buy pointy japanese guitars and those effects boards to get their sound

  • This was added to guitar hero 6 today and they finally added headstrong by trapt and i dont have no dam drums to play them dammit because mine tore up.

  • DIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS

  • Prince plays a shitty squire telecaster a lot of the time, and he's shit hot. takes even more skill to play on a shit guitar imo

  • I like it

  • Comment removed

  • I know everyones talking about music on this but I just gotta say that this is the best edited concert footage I've ever seen

  • hes got a fkin awesome voice..

  • yeah he plays epiphone

  • Man i want Josh's Epiphone Es- 335 Dot !

  • too good !

  • They should change the lyrics to:

    "Come together cuz i own"

  • the drummer looks like rocky NICe

  • one word. AMAZING!!!

  • fuck me josh!!!!!!!!!!

  • The chorus melody sounds very similar to The Wild Swans' Revolutionary Spirit

  • You say its too fast like thats a bad thing.Sounds even fucking better they need to release an album of live tracks. They give me eargasms! :)

  • played to fast....but still a great song

  • @TheJesperAble Too fast? Impossible!

  • great handy work:P

  • Hört sich gut an weils nicht so übertriben ist. Ist einfach Normal, und die Stimme ist auch net Krtzig wie bei anderen.

  • perfect harmonizing

  • Can someone please tell me if this song is about incest?

  • @fewcusi Lmao. No. He said it was about going to a girls house and he ended up getting with her little sister. Of course I am not full on details. But you get the idea.

  • so.much,awesome.

  • whomever directed and edited this was on a helluva a lot of ccccocaine!

  • These guys kick ass!

  • Precisamos bué que vocês venham a Portugal.

    Bué.

  • nice!

usually josh fucks up the solo at the end but here he nailed it!

  • needs more cowbell

  • @mmlsj Well that's probably cuz there is no cowbell to begin with.

  • @mmlsj its a jamblock

  • @mmlsj its called a jamblock.

  • I found this guitar. Its £300. Am i going to fucking review it, consider, test it? No. I'm just buying it without question. Just so i can say 'Josh homme has one of these.' Plus..i think the sound speaks for itself here.

  • @StringPickable

Josh changed the pickups of his Dot.

  • @StringPickable me too!

  • stunning nuff said

  • the tone is in the hands, so what he plays a epiphone!!!!

  • I wish the camera had calmed the f**k down fir thus video. I nearly had a fit, watching this. XP. Great tune

  • the end is epic. it says more than the hole song before - more than any words can express and drives this song to heaven...

  • nice song, but the end sounds a litle bit crazy

  • Is the guitar a epiphone dot?

  • little sister es una cancios buenismiaa

    damn right!

    yeahh!

  • the drummer is on coke or E...for sure.

  • video editing = fail

  • @4ntiIvIon LOL yeah whats with all that panning in and out

  • breakneck pace for all that down picking man Homme is a fucking stud

  • come on all the flittering is there for you to not get it, you can't think its this easy to play in a band. Little Sister can you find another waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy......

  • It annoys me when the camera doesn't stop flitting around like this, great performance though, great song and fantastic band.

  • best band ever!

  • this is 1000 times better than the studio version. long live the queens of the stone age!

  • homme is the man

  • these have had more than 100 people play live for them , id say they were a orginisation other than a band

  • @misticalwonder93 Do you mean alternating band members?

    And I have to disagree.

  • senza parole davvero...

  • There amazing live. Sound like its in a studio. Amazing. :D

  • bought time a band did...

  • Castillo is the man.

  • I just realised that the little bomb-like logo on SFTD is actually a Q. STUPID ME!

  • @ktrel54 The logo isn't a bomb either it's a sperm and an egg making a Q.

  • Does Josh usually play the solo and he sliding part, because i saw them and I remember it being troy. Could be wrong

  • every time I've seen Josh play it

  • These cats are bad!

  • such a difference between this song other qotsa songs but still screams qotsa all the way

  • you know the guitar sounds at like 2:00 to 2:20 etc (not a guitar expert here :P)

you can here almost the exact same sounds as a background sound for pinback - this red book

almost killed myself trying to find little sister forgot where the sounds were from when listening to pinback lol

  • this guy could play guitar made of shit and still make it sound good

  • Fuck you !!

  • i want a epiphone dot like Jay H.O

  • I have one. I love it. Such a comfortable guitar.

  • its not what guitar you play, its how you play it.

  • Well... that's depend :P each guitar has got a different feel and sound

  • is it just me, or is troy always wearing a suit...?

  • yeah but hes the coolest cat in the universe

  • oh yeah, absolutely

  • it's cause he's imense

  • WTF am i on drugs or is the camera going mental!

  • me thinks it be the camera

  • Well, its fucking anoying :S

  • beautiful guitar<3

  • what's the bassit's effect ? What's his pedal ? Thanks

  • Many people are commenting "why is Joshua usin an Epiphone!?". Well in that case its okay to know that Epiphone isnt a guitar label that Gibson made(like fender made squier). Epiphone was independent just like Gibson and before they were bought, they actually made their own guitar models. So in general Epiphone has many guitars that can measure up to Gibsons(mainly the archtops).

  • Epiphone doesn't suck but you have to admit that the feel of a gibson ES feels and sounds better than the epiphone one.

But it doesn't matter in this case if you play a show, at least I wouldn't mind.

  • Its all about the pickups and the strings as far as im concerned.

  • the gibson costs several thousands of dollars and is made in a custom shop.

anyway, the gibson custom shop archtop models don't have any models with P90s!

which is where epiphone exceeds gibson

  • The ES is not that expensive.

  • lowest price for ES-335: ~2000 dollars.

Highest price for ES-335: ~5000 dollars.

    Prices according to musician's friend

    Average working guitarist's price range

500-1000, more if they don't want to eat.

  • epi makes some sweet guitars, i personally like the "casino" best

  • Good taste man, good taste.

  • but you know, I think epiphone makes good instruments. and it isn't the type of the guitar, who makes the song good, or bad. you have to be a good player. and if you are a very good one, like josh, you can take every guitar you want. its my opinion. not the guitar makes it better, you should be able to play well :)

  • that's right, but for a good player, like josh, it makes a difference if he plays a gibson or a no named starter guitar from wal mart:D

  • it would be the other way around actually.

Some of the guitars Josh plays are super cheap anyway, and others cost thousands of dollars.

  • yeah thats right. youre a smart guy ;)

  • it's like 60% skill, 40% gear that makes a good guitarist

if you have shit gear, but have mad skillz, you'll still sound amazing, if you have great gear, no skills, you'll sound like a failure

if you have both, then you sound like an orgasm going through a distortion pedal

  • @D35J4RD1N5 homme uses shitty gear on purpose boyo, thats how he gets his sound

  • @mrrazorblade227 Yo boyo, shitty gear? One of the best guitar rigs going more like.

  • @jonnyrocketballs69 it is one of the best rigs i've heard, but he uses gear that no pro guitarist would dream of to get a unique sound, alon with gear thats top notch, thats what i was saying

  • @D35J4RD1N5 idk it like. the secret to a persons tone is in the guitar and amp/pedals but if ur tone is in shit gear go for it ya know

  • @D35J4RD1N5 Orgasm going through a distortion pedal- Epic Phrase

  • @D35J4RD1N5

    Good guitarist = Mad skillz

    Good sound = Good gear

You can't class the two together dude.

  • @timbo177 what if you're stuck with a crap amp, no pedals, and you suck? should I just give up now? lol, jk

  • @timbo177 you can...a good guitar player sounds even good with shit gear...believe me....but you never have a good sound if you're not playing good, you can have the best gear on earth...but the tone is in your fingers

  • @D35J4RD1N5 I think it's more of a 80-20 split.

  • @D35J4RD1N5

    just adding:

if you suck as a guitarist but have good gear you are simply amplifying your sucking

  • @D35J4RD1N5 then again dude, Jeff Beck could play through a squier strat with only 3 strings and a $25 generic amp, and still sound like Jeff Beck. it's more 90% 10% in my opinion.

  • @D35J4RD1N5 a good guitarist is all skill dumbass, a nice tone consists of gear, and then still is mainly skill!

  • @D35J4RD1N5 better know how to use that gear!

  • @D35J4RD1N5 60/40 isn't even close to accurate. Put any good guitarist on anything, and he'll still blow your mind.

  • @D35J4RD1N5 I'd argue that it's more 80% skill and 20% gear. Unless we're talking about Ibanez starter kits it's not that hard to make a guitar sound good.

  • @D35J4RD1N5 40% really?

  • @D35J4RD1N5 no if have great gear and no skills you sound like a rich douche

  • @kunaikai such an awesome comment

  • @D35J4RD1N5 It's 90% skill. A good guitarist pull the quality out of instrument. That's a large part of what Josh is about. It's exploring different sounds and pushing the boundaries of musical experimentation.

The skill is in knowing how to use what you have.

  • am i hallucinating this shit or the camera is going crazy in this?

  • i love the guitar tune!!1

  • this is a really good version!

not too fast, right amount of energy, every instrument seems to fit in perfectly...

    only shitty camerawork...

  • I've got a fever ... and the only prescription is more cowbell !

  • my god...

i love that cow bell on this song

to bad it lacks on this show

  • lullabies to paralyze is awesome.

    era vulgaris too

  • nop, lullabies to paralyze

  • is this era vulgaris?

  • no

    its from Lullabies To Paralyze

  • i have a fever..and the only prescription is for the people to stop saying "more cowbell" when its a jamblock, not even a cowbell

  • a jamblock is really just a less irritating cowbell, to my possibly untrained ear.

  • Wow, awesome performance. I'd so love to see them live.

  • josh is playing an epiphone ?!

  • I'm not a big fan of Epiphone's

  • Epiphone Dot, for those that don't know what the ~fuck they're saying.. it is a very good instrument.. have you ever played one, friend?

well, at least, e played at least three and some Gibson ES, and the ES 333 Tom DeLongue, and they, in Epiphone, do great guitars too..

just to give you the heads up, friend

  • that's because you can't pay them

  • mind u ibanez's and sg's are better

tbh i prefer the fender jaguar rock 4eva

  • pretty cool

  • BEST BAND 3VER

  • It doesn't matter if it's a cowbell or a jamblock...

It's the SOUND not the NAME

  • Ignoring the fact that they sound different, you're totally right :D

  • That's not what I was saying. People are getting their vagina's wet arguing over a COLORED PIECE OF PLASTIC, when they have no idea what the difference is, and I was making a point that it's what it sounds like that matters, not it's name or any other physical property.

Besides most jam blocks are not made of metal, they're made of plastic or wood, and if you can't tell the difference you need to slam your junk in a door and shut up.

  • I understand that. I know the difference between a cow bell and a block of plastic. They sound different. I know what jam blocks are made of. I know what they sound like. Hell, I even know how they feel on the inside. So, no door-slamming for my dick.

So if you truly think they sound alike, then you should probably not try to tell me to be quiet.

  • I was trying to tell everyone else who was bitching, it wasn't really directed at you. Sorry if it sounded rude.
